Uncovering Lady Clara's secrets and vulnerabilities changes the way he sees the privileged woman. Will this newfound knowledge force him to see her through different and admiring eyes? And will Clara see there is more to Stephen than his lack of noble birth?

Great way to wrap up the series!
Stephen Grant is the brother of Louisa and Sophie from books 1 and 3 of the to Kiss a Wallflower series. They grew up in poverty and Louisa had to work to support her sister and brother since losing their parents. Only now that Louisa and Sophie have married titled gentlemen do they not have to worry about making ends meet.
Clara is the daughter of a duke and even though she does not look at marriage as an advantage, she was interested in the marquess who married Louisa as a suitor. Therefore, there is bad blood between her and the Grants. Stephen and her have verbally sparred over the years and therefore do not like each other very much.
And then like a decent gentleman would, Stephen saves her from Lord Peel who trapped her into a bad situation at a party. She sees him a little differently but still they both have reservations about each other. They are thrown into another situation where he helps her with her ailing father and they grow closer.
The fact that Stephen and Clara had such caustic interactions up until they learn more about who they really are allows their bantering to lead to a sizzling chemistry. I liked how the author incorporated the “Alzheimer type” disease into the story, as it affects so many people’s lives. It also allowed me to see Clara in a different light and brought about attitude changes that allowed her to attain a happy life. I definitely recommend this book and series. I enjoyed reading about all the different characters and stories. I received an ARC of this book and chose to post my review.

Sometimes dislike can turn to love. But such did not seem the case with Lady Clara Quinton, a duke's daughter and Mr Stephen Grant. Having met at her first come out, their encounter did not go well and when the man she had a tendre' for married her sister, she definitely took a dislike to him.
They do seem to steer clear of each other through the years except, he did help her escape a leacherous peer in Covent Gardens and she was thankful for that.
But when he moves into the estate next door to her and her father, she hopes that she will see him rarely. Unfortunately her father's health and memory are deteriorating and when Stephen comes to dinner, he sees what is happening.
When a chance occurance leaves them stranded together, they each begin to find out possibly their opinions of each other have been wrong. But will it lead to love?
Really enjoyed this addition to this series as I have since reading the first story. Don't miss it!

My review :
Wow, Mrs Tamara Gill did an awesome job, she just succeeded in rendering likable the haughty conceited nemesis of every heroine from this series.
It is often seen to have a vilain man redeeming his way because of love, but it is much rarer to read the contrary.
Oh high and mighty Lady Clara does not suddenly become Sweet Clara, it is a lengthy transformation she must endeavor herself.
Why during the first part of the book, it is mostly them throwing barbs and quips at each other, but in between each catches a glimpse of who is the other but old habits are hard to let go.
Stephen is a good brother, but also a kind man, he might not have bathed in wealth and lavishness but when someone is in need he rises to the challenge.
Why becoming closer to Clara, he comes to see under a different light, she is still a high ranked peer’s daughter, she still scratches him at time with her taunts but there is also more than meets the eyes. Behind her society’s mask, hides a woman who cares for her kin and her tenants.
So even a shrew has a soft side.
Clara’s upbringing was one of luxury with fancy things and jaded friends, so when she felt she had been robbed from what she thought was hers, she releases her claws and beware to those on the receiving sides. But years made her realize the wrongness of her actions yet it is much more difficult for her to change her way of life, when that is what she has always known.
Yet she came close to loose everything dear as her epiphany came a bit late.
This tale was a wondrous story of discovering what is worth for oneself.

To Fall for a Kiss is the fourth book in Tamara Gill's Kiss the Wallflower series.
Based on the first book in the series and her actions toward Louise and her siblings, I did not like Lady Clara. I found her to be arrogant and condescending. When I saw that Lady Clara was the heroine in To Fall for a Kiss I assumed that I probably wouldn't enjoy it very much because I woudn't be able to sympathize with her character. But that was not the case at all, I loved this book and by the end of the story I really liked Clara's character.
When the books starts, she is still incredibly unlikable and antagonizing. Normally in a historical romance, it the male lead who is more of a villain and has to grow and redeem himself before he can be ready for love. It is far less oftent that you find one in which the female lead must redeem herself, which is part of what make this book so refreshing and enjoyable to read. Plus there isn't any quick transformation for Clara and I appreciated her character more for the stumbles she made along the way, made her more human. Although at times she did enfuriate me.
I really loved Stephen. He was such a good character and a sweet man. And I loved him all the more when he respected himself enough to walk away when she threw his upbringing back in his face. Nothing would have disappointed me more than had he stuck around to try to change her mind after she treated him so terribly.
To Fall for a Kiss has been one of my favorite books in the series and I recommend it to others who enjoy historical romance. You dont have to read the entire series in order as all relevant information is detailed as you read. But all the characters are connected so reading them together could make them more enjoyable.

Lady Clara Quinton and Mr. Stephen Grant had been at war with each other for a long time. The spat started when Stephen's sister married the man Clara loved. She, the daughter of a duke, passed over for a mere miss! The gall! And let's be honest: Clara is a snob, and Stephen very protective of his sister. Clara and Stephen been trading insults and slights, everyone knows they cannot stand each other. Nothing had changed until the day the ever gallant Stephen rescues Clara from a potentially dangerous encounter with an admirer, and an aristocrat.
Enemies to lovers tropes are not my favourites, but Tamara Gill takes it to a whole new level with the scintillating TO FALL FOR A KISS! Their quarrel is real; it's not a silly plot device. Both Clara and Stephen are flawed, but Clara is a real snotty little witch! The banter is absolutely terrific; I could almost hear them argue. For once, I believed in their animosity. I loved that not much changed after Stephen's chivalrous gesture; Clara was just a trifle less antagonistic. The stroke of genius here is the presence of the Duke of Law, Clara's father. He plays indirectly a pivotal role in the romance, and it is brilliant! They are all such wonderfully fleshed-out characters!
The villain is a nasty - and entirely credible - piece of work, but the best of all is the extraordinary character growth that occurs for the romance to blossom. There was no magical cure, no sudden epiphany; Clara and Stephen earned their happily ever after. TO FALL FOR A KISS is exceptionally well plotted, and with all the verbal sparring, never unpleasant or rage-inducing. This fabulous and very emotional story ends on a splendid epilogue that had me tearing up. Very, very well done, Ms. Gill!

Having insulted Stephen Grant's sister in the worst way, he has no respect whatsoever for Lady Clara, daughter of the Duke of Law. Nevertheless, when the lady needs his assistance, Stephan doesn't stand back but goes to her rescue. Finding that she is his new neighbour puts a totally different spin on their difficult relationship and as Stephan becomes more aware of Clara's circumstances, his admiration for her goes up. When Clara sees how he handles her ailing father, she cannot help but be grateful to Stephan. Initially, there is a tremendous amount of antagonism between the two characters and even though one feels for Clara, she hardly endears herself to the reader. Stephan is no saint either. To start with, there is a lot of friction in this novel with a small amount of suspense. It is romantic and although not heart-warming, the main characters do complement one another. This novel is well written and forms part of a series, with characters from previous books appearing in this one too, nevertheless, it is a standalone and comes to a good conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Tamara Gill never fails to amaze me. In "To Fall for a Kiss," she has transported me to a beautiful sensual world. Lady Clara Quinton, a spoiled Duke's daughter and Stephen Grant, a Marquess' brother in law have been at each other's throats since they first met because of their social status along with a certan disdain by Clara as Stephen's sister married the man she wanted to. The result of a strong thunderstorm leaves Stephen stranded at the Duke's estate with him and his daughter and sparks fly at every encounter. But there's more to Clara that meets the eye... she is a devoted caring daughter to her father, the Duke, who is suffering from bouts of memory loss. What Stephen sees makes him change his mind about how much of a callous viper he thought her to be. A beautiful story of not judging someone based on material wealth.

This was an entertaining read. I loved the characters of Mr. Stephen Grant. Even though, he hadn’t liked Lady Clara ( due to her mistreatment of his family) he was still there as a caring aid when needed. At first, I found Clara to be very snobbish in her attitude, particularly in regard to those she thought lower than herself. During the first half of the book, Stephen and Clara traded insults, but the more time they spent together a greater understanding developed. However, Clara still had the obstacle of Stephen being of a lower class to overcome. If she could! The duke’s illness was dealt with in a sensitive way but it highlighted the effect it had on Clara. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another Fabulous Read by Tamara Gill! To Fall For a Kiss is book 4 in the Kiss the Wallflower series and what a series it has been. If you have not read a Tamara Gill book you are in for quite a treat. Tamara’s stories are so original and To Fall For a Kiss will not disappoint. If you like a good banter you will just love the banter in this story. You fall in love with her characters, they are just so wonderful. This story has a long time resentment, misunderstandings, a rain storm, an ill family member, a love for a father, death, comfort and yes love. I highly recommend this book. You won’t be disappointed.

I don’t think it would be fair to categorize this book as a “never again” because there were some cute parts, but overall I did not enjoy this book.
Simply put, it is too short. The concept is solid and the banter is there for the main characters. But so much is crammed in that the plot feels rushed. There is an over-reliance of telling vs. showing, so the relationship never feels fully formed. We are simply told these two characters hate each other, but nothing they do ever shows this. And while I wouldn’t say there is insta-lust, it comes pretty dang quickly.
I feel robbed of what could have been a really fun story. Even just 50 more pages would have made a big difference. A few more chapters of the characters not liking each other leading up to the prologue where the h is accosted would have helped develop the characters’ relationship. I also would have expanded upon the section where the H moves in to assist with caring for h’s father after he gets a little violent in his illness. Currently this is framed as H and h are attracted to each other and the father has maybe a month to live one page, then the next page the father is dead and the h has strong feelings for the H because of how he helped her during that month. Why wouldn’t you show this? It is what marks the turning point in their relationship. What a missed opportunity to not show the characters realizing they misjudged the other and that they love them for who they are.
From then on the relationship only develops physically. We are told that the H was a major support during her fathers final month, but we never actually see this. Then on the night of his funeral they sleep together. That will never not be emotionally manipulative to me. This is her first time and she is in a state of grief, sex can really wait until she is in a better place. I get that it is consensual, but it’s just icky to me. Call me crazy, but I don’t find funerals to be sexy. I do see the point that it can be comforting for people, but I don’t think that applies to this situation. Outside of our modern lens, this is a regency period book. At that time sleeping with someone outside of marriage was incredibly taboo and risky for women. Obviously I think that is poppycock, but it is the framework these characters operate in and what they would have believed. So for the H to take advantage of the h’s grief and inexperience is not ok.
Speaking of the dads illness, I did just want to mention that the depiction of Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia seemed highly unrealistic. I’m not a doctor, but I have unfortunately known a lot of people who suffer/are still suffering from these diseases. The worst part about them is that they are not quick deaths. You are slowly robbed of yourself overtime. Currently one of my relatives is looking at close to 10 years with this disease. Maybe my great aunt is the outlier, but for her dad to show signs of forgetfulness and then die within a year or two is just unrealistic. I think for most people this won’t be an issue, but it did pull me out of the story with how ridiculous some of the depictions were.

Lady Clara Quinton does not like Mr Stephen Grant. He doesn't like her either. Clara wanted a certain man and Stephen's sister married him. Clara felt that she deserved him since she is the daughter of a duke. This feud had been going on for some time until the day Stephen saved Clara from Lord Peel, a villain who tries to take advantage. Only a dislike this strong can cause a fire this hot between them. I didn't care for Clara but I understood what she was about when I found out about her father. Dealing with a parent that is ill, especially one who has a mental condition affects every aspect of your life. l loved Stephen. This book is another in Kiss the Wallflower Series. Great book with a lot of heart.

Listened to this on Scribd. Duo narration was great but Clara as a character annoyed me so much. I know she "redeemed" herself at the end but it wasn't enough groveling for me. Mr. Grant deserved better and he apologized to her for not trying harder??? How?? Maybe this would've been better if it was longer and not a novella so the characters could be more developed but ehhhh, just almost everything about her irked me. The only time I felt anything for her were the scenes with her father because I empathize with having a loved one with alzheimer dementia (though the book did not specify, it was kinda obvious what kind of disease he had). Anyway, I don't think I'll read/listen to the other books in this series.

This is the story about Stephen and Clara. Clara despised Stephen and his family, she believed they were beneath her. Stephen did not like how Clara treated his sisters. Stephen is a good man and when Clara needed help, he helped her. I have to say, I did not like Clara in the previous book, but I did like her in this book. This is the final book in the Kiss the Wallflower series, but you can read it without reading the previous books, but I suggest you read all these books, because each one was a nice enjoyable read. Again, I have to say, I like Tamara Gill writing style.

I am not sure if I have ever disliked a main character as much as I dislike Clara. She was horrible to Stephen’s family. On the other hand I loved her interaction with her father and her patience and love. As the story progresses, I come to realize that she is really just a product of her environment. Yes she is a bit haughty but I understand. Stephen shows her that love crosses all lines and he is just lovely in this story. This is a beautiful story.

Tamara Gill is one of my favorite authors. I just love every one of her books. She has depth of characters and I just get wrapped up in their lives. When I am reading her books I forget what is going on around me and just get immersed. Her writing is wonderful and I can't wait until the next one. It’s unfortunate that I read so fast because usually by the end of the day or the next I’m already done with it and have to wait for the next one to come out. If you pick up one of her books, you might as well go ahead and download them all. :)

Kiss of a commoner

Beautifully Done
The Author does a albumin showing the class boundaries within a romance and how one couple overcomes them. Warning this is a great level 5 book. Sweet but STEAMY. I love Tamara Gill's writing style, but skip the steamy sections 😉. The whole series is awesome, with a neat backstory that flows through all 4 books.

It started off good and then went downhill fast at the end. I don't mind when historical romances are not that accurate, but this book has too many mistakes for me to look over. Dimensia takes years not months. There would have been effort into finding her father's heir or his estate would be reverted to the crown. The mourning period was a year, she would not have been allowed to be out in society and going to balls before that time was up.
The worst part was how the author treated the duke's illness and death. The illness wound up being merely a plot device for the hero to see the heroine's vulnerability. The second her father died the author didn't even bother to have the heroine grieve. After my dog died I was shattered for months. I cannot imagine what losing your father and only family would be like, which makes the hero's behavior at the end utterly reprehensible. He took advantage of her and they had sex the day of her father's funeral. There is no way that she was in any mental state to make that decision. Then he throws a tantrum and abandons her when she is faced with ruin from the only society and friends she had ever known because she wasn't willing to throw everything away and marry him. All of this happening literal days after her father's death when she would be emotionally unstable. It was such a poor representation of death and grief and the hero behaved so badly that it ruined the book for me.

Good
He wasn't of noble birth. She enjoyed sparing with him and arguing with him.
Lady Clara Quinton is loved and admired by all. She has no enemies—excluding Mr. Stephen Grant. After an atrocious encounter with Stephen during her first season, Clara vowed to never befriend him or any member of his family. But when Mr. Grant saves her in Covent Garden from a relentless and lively admirer, Clara falters in her promise.
Disliking everything about the social sphere he now graces—including Lady Clara—Stephen wants nothing more than to steer clear of the indulged and impolite woman. Her contempt of him and his family has been made known all over the town. However, after coming to her aid one night in London, the vowed enemies come to a truce.
Now, a landlord at the property adjacent to her country estate, a storm leaves him stranded at the duke's home. Uncovering Lady Clara's secrets and vulnerabilities changes the way he sees the privileged woman. Will this newfound knowledge force him to see her through different and admiring eyes? And will Clara see there is more to Stephen than his lack of noble birth?
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

I have loved this whole series & this book was also a really good one. The animosity between this duo stems from Lady Clara Quinton & Mr. Stephen Grant disastrous encounter in Clara's first season. The bickering, bantering and prejudice between this couple was entertaining but when Stephen rescues her on the streets of London one night, they form a truce. A truce at the perfect time as Clara needed support during her father's failing health with dementia and Stephen steps up and helps Clara through the difficult time.
After spending so much time together, they learn the errors in their beliefs about each other and form a awesome and romantic love - but now they must face society's scorn of a match between a duke's daughter and a Mr. I highly recommend this book and the entire series - you will enjoy all of them! They are all well written with wonderful characters that you will love & great stories to support them.

Wonderful addition to series
The 4th book in the Kiss the Wallflower series is a very enjoyable read. The author does a wonderful job of creating a happily ever after for two characters that were introduced in the previous books. Lady Clara is initially portrayed as a heroine with a less than ideal personality and who sees herself as above the untitled Stephen Crane. Can Lady Clara change and mature and if so do we care and is she a good match for the likeable Mr. Crane? With deft writing of sensitive subjects including dementia, the reader begins to see that there is an evolution to Lady Clara and ultimately we are cheering for the apparently mismatched couple. The character development in this book is strong and believable and I can't wait to read the fifth in the series.

Could not finish. I’m shocked more reviews haven’t mentioned the extremely poor grammar and lack of editing in this book (Kindle edition). I gave up at 12%.
This book is in serious need of editing. I’m no scholar but, grammatically, the book is atrocious. Punctuation is mis-used. Many sentences are so awkwardly worded that I found myself having to constantly re-read them as they just didn’t make sense.
An example: “His lordship had been contemplating selling the estate for some time, due to being unused since his grandmother’s time, subsequent to her passing.”
The author also has a penchant for unnecessarily placing a comma before the word “and” which I found somewhat jarring.
Overall, it seems an amateurish attempt at writing a Regency romance with no sophistication whatsoever.

Solid
This is another solid romance from Ms. Gill. If you’ve just found her work, start army the beginning of this series. If you’re like me, working your way through her catalog, this one is less satisfying than the other books I’ve read. There’s a villain that just sort of disappears, and it doesn’t fit his character. He’s arrogant, entitled and thinks the heroine is already his. That type of guy doesn’t get a talking to from a marquess and earl and decide that he’s better off looking for a sugar mama elsewhere. Other than that inconsistency, this is another fantastic read.

The daughter of a duke did not associate with a mere Mister. At least not until he rescued her from a lord about to ruin her and force a marriage to get to her fortune.
A lowly born mister, no matter how well his sisters had married would never be of consequence to the daughter of a duke. Until she needed him as her father's health deteriorated and she would need help caring for him as he forgot how to care for himself.
A lady of fortune and property could only marry a man of equal social status. Even if she fell hopelessly in love with him.

A good story
I enjoyed the story itself but was disappointed by historical inaccuracy. Covent Garden was NEVER a garden. It was a bustling fruit & veg market and at the beginning of the nineteenth century it was a disreputable area surrounded by taverns & brothels. There is no way that a respectable duke would be there with his daughter! Having this reference in the opening chapter was a bit off putting.

Chirp Audiobook
Great narration. I wish I knew the narrators’ real names because I would listen to everything they narrate.
But the story, sigh. The heroine is so unlikeable for so much of the story that, when her redemption arc is satisfied, it’s too little too late. I liked Stephen’s spunk, he was easy to like.
PS: the “lively admirer” the synopsis spoke of aggressively tried to kiss her then threw her on the ground & was about to assault her. So yeah, lively.

To love or live up to class expectation, that is the question!
This story of Lady Clara Quinton and Mr. Stephen Grant, the daughter of the Duke of Law, and the orphaned son of a servant, was so typical of the Regency time and the Tons class prejudices. I was happy to see Lady Clara let her heart ultimately have the last say

Funny novella with witty sparring. The audiobook was enjoyable with excellent narrators. I loved the execution of the audiobook with the two narrators voicing their characters all along. This eliminates the annoyance of having two voices(m&f) for each character. This is my first book for this author and for the narrators and I am planning to listen to more books in the series.

Clara and Stephen have the classic hate to love romance. It took her father's illness - and Stephen's kindess - to change Clara's perceptions and snobby behavior. And what a transformation it was! Anytime two people can face their vulnerabilities and fight for love works for me!
