Another fun trip of short stories from Lynn Cahoon revolving around the holidays. I read them all, mostly in order, but sometimes reading them again together makes the books stand out even more. Good intros for new readers, fun faves for ardent fans. I recommend Cahoon's books for all cozy mystery lovers
I am not generally a fan of novellas but I love the ones Lynn Cahoon writes for the Tourist Trap Mystery series and this compilation is a great way to get your hands one them. They present of with a slightly different experience than the novels in the series. In each of them we see Jill and Greg take a trip with friends. This provides us time with them as a couple and gives them a change to work together on a mystery. Each book is like a mini vacation for fans of the series.
The only negative for me was that they were written out of sequence so I had to shift mental gears since I started the series at the beginning and read every book as it came out. On the other hand, It didn’t take long to place each novella with what was happening when it was written. If you are fairly new to the series, grab this set now so you will be able to read them as you read the series but if you are already into the series, do not let that mental shift discourage you from spending this special time with our friends from South Cove.
Revisiting this series with three novellas i had missed. I enjoy the humor, quirky characters, developing relationships, creative plots and the small-town and bookstore setting. I’m so glad someone mentioned this collection on Facebook, or I would have missed it.
Unusual set up as this follows three of amateur sleuth, Jill Gardner, as she solves three mysteries, all during the holidays--Fourth of July, Halloween and Christmas, in three short stories. It's a great way to get acquainted with the author.
I.like this series but this should not be called one novel. It is really three separate stories. They are enjoyable and feature familiar characters but she rather abruptly.
This is hands down one of my favorite story's ever. Now I'm left trying to fill the gaps of nothing like it. I've read this series a minimum of 5xs. I swear it's leek you have bult a family and I'm part of it now. Love her work so much.
