Ten years ago, Ryan saved the world with the help of his parents. This time, he must do it on his own; he lost everyone he loved. Before the final battle between Light and Dark begins, he must do two things: Return to Empia and salvage his soul... And seek the real story behind the legend of the most powerful woman to have ever existed...and her relationship to the Dark Guardian.
The saga began with the Dark Guardian. Will it also end with him?

Meet the Empians whose kingdom is embedded in secrets and struggles for freedom. The bloodline continues into future generations as do the whispers of illusions of grandeur, and the fight of light vs darkness.
The Empians struggle to gain prominence after their descent to the dark elements of their once utopia will raise the hair on your head as you read. The fight within families and against their sworn enemies is decisive with a brutal force both mentally, spiritually, and physically.

The story is fast-paced and written by a masterful writer. M.C. Glan paints mental pictures with words so clearly you can reach out and touch the characters and scenery. Her show “don’t tell” writing draws you into the depth of the story for a mind-blowing dark fantasy read. A must-read for fans of horror, deception, and trickery. Lock your doors and be ready for a thrilling read.
Having read the second book in this series, this third book was relatively easy to follow. It seems as though each book focuses on a new generation, a clean-cut concept which I quite liked.
That said, the story felt quite forced. Characters died for no good reason other than to further the story, other characters made poor decisions purely to incite the drama that was required for the book to progress into something more dramatic. On top of that, the ending was quite anticlimactic.
As in the previous book, the writing was not too shabby, but the many inconsistencies fractured my opinion of the book as a whole.
