Half-witch, half-magi, and all bloodthirsty.

Korri Marchand spends her nights stalking corrupt magi and chasing the high she gets from their deaths. She tells herself it's for her friend Poppy, but there's a part of her that likes what she does. Likes it a lot.

One night, she discovers the magi have been keeping a dark secret when she breaks one of their magical objects and releases a demon. Using demons to power spells is against the law--a law the magi wrote. Now she understands how the magi rose to power--and how dangerous they truly are.

Trapped for centuries, forced to serve cruel masters, Lux, Malphas, Abaddon, and Baphomet are ready to lay the magi world to waste but they don't have the power or numbers to take them on--at least not yet. The interesting little mortal who freed them wants to help, and she may just be the key to saving the rest of their kind.

That she's fearless, adventurous, and wild in bed just sweetens the deal.

**Dark reverse harem

**Creative boning

**Some M/M in addition to all the F/M/M/M

**Don't venture within if you're squeemish

Hello! I'm a writer from Nebraska who enjoys fantasy of all kinds. Stories don't always seem quite as much fun without some element of magic.

I started out writing romances because that's what my best friend and I loved to read. (My other best friend and I wrote about our science teacher being an alien and hard boiled detectives.) I have a varied and exciting inner fantasy life, you might say.

My first full length novel was a fun private detective, contemporary, crazy love story. I'm working on rewrites so that I can get it out into the world. The first book I've published is an urban fantasy about a mother who doesn't know how to be a hero, but luckily she's a quick study.

I studied fiction writing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha but didn't truly appreciate the experience. Now that I've written millions of words, I think it might be fun to go back and take some more classes. (It might be fun...or it might be annoying, who knows?)

I love to read and I adore talking to people about writing and reading. And crochet!

Thank you for dropping by and thank you for reading my book. It honors me that you would spend some time in my imaginary world.

Tentacles!

Who knew a day would come when the appearance of tentacles was not enough to keep me interested.

As another review mentioned, this book was heavy on the sexual tension than the actual plot, it sucks because the premise was interesting. Even the M/M, F/F interaction couldn't salvage this one. 2020 really has been an odd year.

Snarky, fun and murderous revenge too

I actually really liked this book despite the horrors of their world. Korri is a somewhat revenge assassin partnering up with a girl who lost her family to the Magi and Keepers of their world. So Poppy and Korri plan their revenge, Poppy the brains and behind the scenes and Korri the brawn who gets off on killing people. She also drinks their spirits up but doesn’t really understand why that is.

One night Korri makes a hit but breaks the magi’s medallion and out pops a hellhound named Lux. She didn’t know this has been the source of the magi’s power and this changes the course of her plans.

I really enjoy this take on the various myths about demons, witches and the like. Their story is somewhat different to be refreshing.

As we learn more we see how this world truly looks and I’m super interested in where this goes. Adam, a grand high something exorcist or whatever has now threatened Korri at the end of the book, and I don’t think he knows what he’s in for. But I also think we don’t know enough about him yet to know whether or not we should be concerned. If he will truly be a problem.

Definitely going on to the next one.

I gave this book a shot for two things: the Cruella fashion and the Halloween feelings I thought it would give me.

But in the end, I did not particularly enjoy it.

+ Naked demons
+ Stuck penis in vagina
+ Dirty talk
+ M/M
+ Weird heroine
+ Psychopathic behavior
+ Bad friendship
+ Future F/F

I guess I would say the book is hot and dirty with a lot of bodies in it's weak. I am not sure the main character is particularly coherent or the guys endearing, but do not hesitate to give it a go.

Thank you for providing me this ARC>

Great read

This is a great start to a new series! I love all the characters, relationships, and the plot! I am upset with her BFF but I’m hoping that gets fixed in the next one ! I look forward to the next in the series!

A little dark and twisty.

I really enjoyed this book and the basis behind the story. The FMC Korri is a total badass who is hell bent on changing how the world views the Magi. She is funny, loyal and a little insane and that’s what made me love her. I have one reason why this book wasn’t a 5 star read for me. The major bummer for that the guys seemed to lack emotion for me. It seemed as is the only thing they wanted was to kill, boink and figure out why Korri smelled so good. I didn’t really feel a connection between her and the guys. Though it was announced several times that there was. I guess I’ll have to see in future books. Regardless, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it!

I feel like this book took me on a rollercoaster and not a particularly good one. More like the kind that's a little boring with a few twists here and there to keep it fun but then falling flat again.

It did take me a couple of chapters to fully get absorbed in reading this but once I did, I figured everything was good. The story was intriguing, I love vengeful, bloodthirsty women, the demons were fun, and the smut was really, really good. It's a little sad that a book with so many things that I liked ended up being a 2-star read, but it is what it is, I guess.

The thing that kind of ruined this for me was Poppy, actually. We're told a lot (by Korri) that Poppy's her best friend and Korri does seem to hold a lot of affection for her. And sure, the murder spree was kicked off in part by what happened to Poppy's family. But after however long they spent killing off magi together, Poppy's somehow shocked, surprised and horrified that Korri genuinely just likes killing people? Literally how and why? It's not like it wasn't painfully obvious that Korri liked the violence (as evidenced by the fact that Poppy would often tune out when Korri started the actual killing) so ... why the shock?

And what was up with her random fear/aversion/hatred/whatever of demons? IIRC, Poppy's a witch, too, so unless she bought into all the magi brainwashing (which ... again why? The magi killed her family, ruined her life and she's plotting ways to kill off a bunch of them so ...... why believe a word that comes out of their mouths?) what exactly does she not like about them? They hate magi, they have just as valid reasons to hate magi, what is the problem with Korri getting together with demons and killing a bunch of them? Why is she setting Korri up with regular people after she's told that Korri likes her demons?

And okay, yes, I can sympathise that Korri killed Kyle off without Poppy and I get that she'd be angry about that but ... it sort of seemed like she was just jealous Korri was killing people without her. Which would've also been totally fine, jealousy over murder bonds is totally valid. But then she told Korri to cop to everything. And even though Korri said she was going to do it anyway, Poppy still threw her under the bus. With no remorse. After refusing every attempt Korri made to get her to safety because she didn't want to have anything to do with the demons. Who, again, have super valid reasons to hate magi and are super on board with killing them all and would make excellent allies to have in their corner.

Yeah, by then, I didn't really buy that Poppy cared about Korri as much as Korri did for her. It started to seem like Poppy was just pissed that her personal butcher was off her leash and doing things on her own and making new butcher friends who didn't want to leash her (unless it was to a bed or a pillar or something I guess) Plus Korri wouldn't have had a fucking thing to with Adam or Alex or whoever if it wasn't for Poppy fake-crying and wanting an in with Kyle (which Korri fucking got for fuck's sake my sympathy is rapidly drying up) and I wouldn't have had to deal with so much smarm and could've instead been reading about Korri and all the demons getting sexy somewhere.

Her grandmother just annoyed me, what is the point of blaming a six-year-old for what I assume was your own fuck up and then dragging her over and over back into your circle against her will GAH. Also didn't care for Stolas and the whole Mom-complex he has with Lilith. Why can't you just be happy that Hell is being repopulated and all the stolen demons are coming back and figure out a way to bring your mom back /after/ all the shit is over and done with. Why trick everyone and be a pain and spoil things. Sigh.

I loved all the other demons though. They're hot and violent and adore the air Korri breathes, they have my full heart. Abaddon especially. Apparently, I like my male leads dangerously unhinged.

Sucks you in

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected to, and I loved how the author changed up the stereotypes that are usually prevalent in UF books. Loved Lux, and Korri was such an anti-heroine that it was refreshing to be cheering on the murderer.

Grandmother is in deep doo doo, and I’m on the fence about Adam, but if he went the way of Oscar or Kyle, I wouldn’t be mad. Poppy however is a problem. Not sure how that’s going to work out, or even if it should.

Corpse Curses, the first book of the Curses, Charms, and Incantations series, is a book I picked up during my Kindle Unlimited trial. This book is not getting enough visibility, if you ask me. Korri is the perfect, irreverent anti-hero with snarky, shocking dialog and a WTF attitude. There's everything here from cursing, MM, and FMM action to keep the sexy scenes hot, and an excellent plot to hold the reader's attention (well, assuming the steamy bedroom scenes don't do it for you). This is a series I hope to see more of, as I'd love to see where this storyline goes.

Bloodlust, murder and s#xx

Oh la la!!!! This book was right up my alley! It was twisted in the violence part, and am i a little sick in the head to wish there was more said that violence! I love the details of the fleshy aspects..I know I know, but ugh did I shuttered myself in pleasure! I love a strong killing H, and even out of her harem abaddon was my favorite, crazy insane! And so blood thirsty. Yum! I love the storyline, honestly I hope they just keep on killing at this point. It's !y favorite thing about this book.

Great 1st book with demons, Hell, and witches

This has been a great series opener full of sexy demons, a bloodthirsty witch, and plenty of political and equality drama. The main character Korrie is an interesting one and I pretty much already had the mystery behind her figured out long before it was mentioned. She’s fiercely loyal and bloodthirsty. She Sidney afraid to stand for what is right, regardless of the backlash and danger she will face.

Overall, it’s a great book with plenty of fast burn steam and some delicious MM. I will definitely be continuing this series.

Korri is helping her friend get revenge for what the mages did to her family. Korri is unique Angie's half witch half mage. Mage's look down on witch's but it seems mages have been keeping demons in medallion that they carry around their necks to give them power. Korri finds this out and she wants to help witches and she also wants to save the demons, they don't deserve to be tortured. But things get a little tricky.

A Kick Ass Main Character and Sexy Demons

I stumbled across this book and enjoyed every word of it. It’s dark with a FMC who isn’t afraid to get a little bit bloody. There are some sexy demons that you just want to go out and play with. An unusual take on a reverse harem where it’s the demons needing saving!

Great start

That was an exciting start to a series the story pulled me in and the characters kept me entertained. Korri was an awesome FMC. She is equal parts badda** and hilarious. Abaddon is my favorite of the male characters so far. I just like his possessive, crazy, tad bit psycho personality.

Why am I just not finding this book

This book was sooo good and worth the read. I’d make a longer review but I’m dying to read the next boook now. Just know that this book is so worth the read and has one of the hottest shifter smut scenes I’ve read.

Middle of the road

So, its a great story line. Very different outlook on witches, demons and the like. It was not super suspenseful for me. It was good, but It was nit a stay up all night and finish it. Def some incredibly hot scenes. Overall, great read.

Fantastic read!

Korri is a total bada**!! I love that she has a dark side, that the demons love of course, since they’re, ya know, demons. I’m excited to see what next for Korri and her demons, especially after the answers we received at the end of book one.

This book sucked me and I loved it. The main character is unapologetic in her thirst for murder and I’m here for it.
The heat level is high and quite naughty. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.

Gave this a go

Loved the idea of this but honestly it pains me to say that I didn't like it and skimmed most of the end to finish it. I usually love mixed pov with demons and justice but it just didn't mesh well to me. Sorry author

The world building was very interesting. The guys were less so, I am hesitant going forward because the possibility of F/F. Baphomet is a female. But the marketing is just F/M/M/M and M/M. So I guess I'll see if the next book.

Very little story, no preamble to things at all - for example she fucks someone after knowing them a grand total of 20 minutes, barely even talking about it first, just "I know you know!" Followed by screwing. No idea what's going on there...

I was really digging this one with it's decent world building, hot guys and competent and murderous main character, but then it went and got too big too fast. I wish we had a few more books slowly getting to know the characters and world before jumping straight into the big stuff.

loved it

It was simple, to the point. I was hoping their would be gal-pal vibes but honestly I don’t want that after the way the book ended. This reads more like a movie and do there is no in depth story going on or much complexity but it is short, fast paced and entertaining.

This is so good!

Korri is not your typical heroine she’s more of an anti hero. The story is dark so keep that in mind if you’re picking this up.
