Although her life had been peppered with tragedy, Jewellia Wells considered herself normal-- until a series of events uncovered a latent paranormal ability that would forever alter her perception of the world around her. After divorcing her philandering husband and having no living family, Jewellia is forced to learn to manage this new talent on her own. That is, until she receives a letter that thrusts her into a quest involving a mysterious sword, rare gemstones, and immortal beings. Along the way she meets an amazing group of people who have talents that rival her own. This group quickly becomes the family that makes life worth living... or in Jewellia's case, worth dying for.
Such a great book! And, I’m not just saying that because the author is one of nursing school instructors. The world building was fantastic and sucked me in. I can’t wait to move on to book 2.
Who knew I would actually enjoy reading a book with immortals, vampires and people with supernatural gifts?? I was not expecting to get hooked the way I have. Clever writing and fascinating characters.
