Alexis and her brother have had a terrible childhood in a poor neighborhood with a drug-addicted mother who never tended her children with care or attention. Alexis has escaped through a non-profit organization who paid for her schooling to become a nurse in return for her working for the organization for a year. Unfortunately, they have asked her to return to her home town to work her last three months in a local clinic. They also failed to provide her housing so she is back in her mother's filthy home. But she can manage for three months, can't she? Well, it just so happens a big, bad, handsome, tatted, man moved in next door. Yes, he is a member of an MC. Yes, she told him how she hates drugs because her mother loved them more then she loved her daughter. Everything happens swiftly as Blade loves his MC brothers, and, as Vice-president, supports his leader, Jett, in managing their business. Of course, Blade didn't confess to Alexis about dealing in drugs until he comes home all bloody from a gunfight with another MC club. Alexis insists he take her to their safe house so she can tend the injured bro they refuse to take to the hospital. Alexis confronts Blade, but things only accelerate. Molokov cocktails are thrown into Alexis's home igniting it on fire. Can there be a HEA to this story?
I really enjoyed reading this book. once I was in I stayed there until I had finished every word that was written. Twists, turns and surprises await you within the pages of this book. Some of the surprises you may see coming, while others you won't. Some are large, while others are small. Some may hit you square in the face while others could pull on your heartstrings. But regardless how you find the surprises and they effect you, each and every single one hold the exact same importance within the story. Emotions run high at some points in the story, each and every emotion the characters go through can be felt, I actually went through them along with the character. I did get frustrated a couple of times and did want to bang the heads of some of the characters. But they redeemed themselves during the course of the books. Blair Grey is a new author for me and I am so pleased that I decided to get this book. So worth the star rating I gave it. MC fans if you haven't read this book, I personally don't think you will regret getting this book.
Love book 2!!! Alexis escaped her home town by becoming a nurse and vowed to never return. But she learned to never say never when she is assigned to her hometown clinic to finish her duty to pay back he schooling. She thought she left her drug addicted mother and brother for good, but now she finds herself moving back home with them. The only up side is the hot neighbor. Blade is waiting for his house to be finished and is living in a club owned house. He is usually a one night stand kind of guy, but something about Alexis keeps him coming back for more. Things seem great, until he learns of her hatred for anyone involved in the drug trade. He knows his time is limited before she finds out the truth about the MC and they lose what they have together, but when things go sideways for the MC he seeks her help and all breaks loose....literally! Love the story, the characters and I can't wait for the next one!
This is the second book in the Steel Wings MC series, Blade is Vice President of Steel Wings and we follow his dramatic romance with Alexis as she returns to her hometown to finish part of her nursing course requirements. Falling for her sexy neighbor wasn't part of the plan and when learning that he plays a big role in the drugs in the neighborhood and they made her childhood unbearable, she breaks it off with him. Their chemistry is sizzling and their attraction is deep and keeps pulling them together. I'm loving this series, read this book on one sitting, I can't wait for the next book.
This book is well-written, the storyline is fast-paced and packed with plenty of drama and emotion. The characters are incredibly likable and relatable.
Alexis was moving back to her hometown that she spent years trying to get away from. Now with the last stint of her school requirement once she finished her contract at Devil Hills she would be able to set the location she could finally get her permanent nursing job.
Not much had changed back home; her mother was still a drug addict and her brother was worthless. The one big change she seen though was the sexy biker who was living next door to her mother. They both thought it could be a one and done but that just wasn’t the way things were working out.
This couple had a lot to work through the question was were either of them willing to go out of their way for the other one in order for them to get a HEA?
Alexis just wants to finish her newest assignment and get out. Blade lives by the MC life and never wants that to change. He's the definition of what she hates. What happens when Alexis finds out what Blade does? Will Blade be able to convince her to stay?
Loved seeing tough Blade fall in love. I didn't blame Alexis for her way of thinking and being against what she viewed as ruining her childhood, but loved how she was slowly able to accept that her mother was responsible for her own actions. I loved how despite her trying to give up on their relationship, Blade was still willing to do whatever necessary to protect her. Good read!

I liked the premise and enjoyed the story. There was some MC action right off the bat, and I'm not adverse to insta-lust. However, I did find the story to be a bit wordy and a little repetitive; most likely because there is way too much time spent inside the main characters' heads. Also, that may be reason why there wasn't enough actual dialogue between the characters. I think a little more conversation would have enhanced the story.
Alexis' family-especially the brother-was a bitter, hot mess. She worked hard to get away from the drugs and crime that polluted her town only to become caught up with the man runnin' them. I'm not a fan of being on the wrong side of the law, but I liked how Blade was who he was and never pretended to be anything else. The MC was his family-his brothers-and that was that.
For a contemporary romance, I thought there'd be at least a small convo or mention of using condoms but it was skipped over-repeatedly.
Book 2 of the Steel Wings MC series gives us Blade and Alexis's story. Alexis is a traveling nurse and for many reasons is passionately apposed to anything or anyone that has to do with illegal drugs. Blade's MC moves drugs. She cant wait to leave the town she's currently working in, the further away the better. Blade loves his hometown. The chemistry between these two is combustable. Hummmm, I predict some problems. Blair Grey gives us a roller coaster of a ride with these two. This book is a fast paced, page turner. Can't wait for Ryder's story!
Man - this series just keeps getting better. I know I'm only on book 2 but Blair continues on impressing me. I loved the character growth in this one - there was a ton. I can comfortably say that this could be read as a stand alone, I don't think you would feel "lost" if you were to pick this up before reading the first one. The plot in this one was a little more angsty and action packed than the first, and the steam will definitely warm you up. I will definitely be continuing on with this series - I want to know about the rest of the MC
Another outstanding book in the Steel Wings MC series. This story involves Blade, Vice President of the Steel Wings MC and Alexis who has returned home to complete her nursing contract. “Blade” is a fast paced, hard hitting, action packed romance that will hold your attention right till the end. Great story-line! Interesting characters! A must read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Alexis is moving back to her hometown because of her job and she isn’t happy about it. Her childhood wasn’t a good one. She ends up back in her mom’s house and Blade is her neighbor. Blade is the Vice-President of an MC and when he comes home bloody after a gunfight with another MC, Alexis helps. Soon sparks are flying. Fast-paced read with loads of drama and suspense. Steamy chemistry great characters and action packed. I really liked it.
I listened to the audiobook of this. I wasn’t a fan of the female narrator and the male was just okay.
It started out good but I felt no connection to the characters. Everything happened so fast, they were basically in love after the first time they met even though they kept pushing each other away. The mom’s revelation at the end seemed disingenuous. There was also too much inner monologue going on… just get to the point!
Over all I enjoyed the book. Narrated decently and the storyline was okay. It’s really more of a 3.5 to me but half stars aren’t a thing here. The extra 1/2 star is because the author has a tendency to find a line of thought and repeat jt several time in a row altering it slightly. It was a bit much.
Just dumb! The premise is the only thing good that Blair can write. The writing is so elementary and the characters are superficial at best. Read a Chinese menu instead; you'll get more out of it. What a waste of time!
I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I couldn't get enough of Blade & Alexis' story. It had me on the edge of my seat. Loving this series.
This well-written MC storyline has action, drama, defined and engaging main characters. This is an entertaining, fast paced read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Ok I’ve read the whole series and it’s pretty good! The characters are alpha and hot yet the storyline is actually quite good too. A little insta love and drama 🎭 but even so I really enjoyed it
This is quite engaging but I don't know.. I can't quite explain. It feels like I'm onto something but didn't really materialize.
I didn't even understand how could the hero concludes to himself like a gushing teenager talking repeatedly in the final chapter, how he feels so deeply in love, saying she's his everything when this so called deep love, I haven't even felt from previous chapters. All he keeps doing is letting her go, and 'tis fine with him, if not for the two circumstances that bring them back together again. He keeps saying the FMC is his everything and not even her could surpass that devotion. but yeah it's a fast entertaining read.
