P.S. Power

P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line.

Hello Everyone!

In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!

Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

p.s. - Also going to try and get the feed that comes with this to feed into Amazon and Goodreads. Good luck to one and all!!

Not sure what to say with this review. It is a very typical P.S. Powers story. Things from the last book continue in this book. There is a lot of incongruity as always. Anders is a young boy of only 12 and yet has vast magical ability. He is both a nobody (being a bastard son of the prince and not having much if any standing) and a somebody (being that he has more magical ability than anyone else has seen). There is also things that happen that nobody know how to deal with. Anders uses his magical talent help other people, usually at their suggestion. Then after the work is done they wonder about payment for such things, which Anders knows nothing about. He can't just give away his services because that would affront their honor, but they also can't afford to pay him what the service is really worth. This happens over and over again. This is again a theme that I have found in almost all of this authors stories. It is usually interesting for a while and then gets a little annoying after a while. If the people can't afford for something to be done, don't ask for it.

I thought this was only a 2 book series but there is another book out already. I will go ahead and pick it up. I will need a break from P.S Powers for a while after this though.

The beginning of a magicians world

This is the second book in the series of young Anders. A boy on the cusp of becoming a man, with a spirit and knowledge of an ancient historian sharing space with his own body. The two merge more in this book as they grow in magical knowledge and everyday experience. Plenty of magic, fighting, and intrigue make the story flow smoothly and kept me captivated throughout. I would suggest aged 12 and over as it does touch of the subject of intimacy without going into any graphic details, but it's part of his life and more true to what his life would be like so it just adds to the world.
Now I'm hoping I won't have to wait a very long time for the next in the series! Mr Powers likes to jump around his different stories to keep his mind from getting stuck in one series I think :) so it's fine if I have to wait. I enjoy all his books so whatever comes next will be a treat!

A fantastic sequel

A very readable and enjoyable book. Young Anders was near death in the first book of this series, having contracted a deadly disease when he was treated with a memory crystal containing a thousand year old historian/mage who help him to heal but at the cost of having a rider inside his young mind. A benevolent rider intent on helping Anders.

Book two picks up with Andrea continuing his education as a powerful mage and an asset to the kingdom. Full of intrigue adventure and a descent plot. Read and enjoy, I sure did.

Great addition to the series

It’s been a while since the first book so I wasn’t sure if this would flow in my memory the same but it! We pick up a few weeks after Anders fight in the last book with him at the castle. The book focused mainly on court intrigue with fighting at the end. Anders has gotten pretty good at this magic and we get to see him use it more for healing and crafting. Things take a slightly dark turn mentally for him at the end but we end on a good note with the promise of more intrigue in a new land far away!

Anders grows up and in doing so learns many things.

Our hero is sent to the front of the war and becomes more than just a boy with the memories of a man more than 1000'years dead. They become more than just a boy/man and in doing deeds more heroic learns to help with those around him.

Of course there is much more, and I wonder if there might be a book or two more of this story line. Who knows????

Great second tale!!!

Anders doing what he does best....ignoring social questions and making all around him feel awkward, lol. I loved his internal dialogue quarreling with himself on the monstrous acts he’s being forced to complete for the safety of those he loves. I really don’t want to se him turn into a shell of himself but I do want to see him ascend into greatness. I’ll be tuning in for book 3

Continuing at an excellent pace

So the last book in the series was excellent I gave it five stars. Facebook has an even better start and continues to paste throughout the entire book. The world has already been built around you and now you simply get to experience it. I don’t have a single issue with the story. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Worth the waiit

Sally authors are forced at times to think business and drop stories that don't attract enough readers. I am glad Andres and his world didn't suffer that fate and our world will be enriched by his tales.

Not as good

Well I made it through the first book thought I would try the second it was ok but very slow!! The writer has a trend that makes all of his character seem the same. All are I'm Not Worthy type!! It gets old fast!!

Very interesting magic development

This is a continuation of a series. I really like the continued development of the main character. For me this is the best writing paper powers has done.

Loving it!

The character of Anders is interesting, an old man in a twelve year old boy. I like the accurate description of PTSD. Good plot, good story.
