Hazel I’ve always seen ghosts, but since moving to Shadow Falls I haven’t seen a single spirit. Everyone says weird stuff happens here, it’s just a way of life. Ghosts don’t scare me but what’s happening in Shadow Falls is terrifying. Shadows that cling to people like parasites and a man who wants to devour me.
Alarik Something is wrong in Shadow Falls. All of the souls have disappeared and my reaper is getting weaker every day. I don’t need any distractions and that’s what Hazel is. Something about her calls to the darkness inside me. She’ll either be my salvation or the end of me.
This is not your average paranormal. Are there witches, demons, wolves and ghosts? Yes, yes there are.
But Hazel and Alarik are like nothing you've read before. This is such a refreshing story in an overly saturated genre.
Hazel sees ghosts and helps them when she can. She went looking for her fresh start in Shadow Falls but what she found was so much more.
Alarik is a reaper, a soul eater of sorts. He's so charming and a bit silly. Shadow Falls is his home but he doesn't realize how terribly wrong things are until Hazel arrives.
Together they are unstoppable.
I really enjoyed this and can't wait to pick up more from the author.

As an avid reader of Paranormal Romance, I've read all kinds of books about Vampires, Shifters, Witches, Angels, and Demons. Shadow's Edge was a breath of fresh air for this genre! I loved the storyline, the characters, and the book's flow. The main characters, Alarik and Hazel, are entertaining and their chemistry heats up the pages. While this read is a standalone, the author has promised future books involving some of the other characters and I can't wait! Lizzy Prince is a new to me author, but I will definitely be adding her books to my future must read list. 5 Magical Stars!
I really enjoyed it in the beginning and then it was a little meh and then I started liking it again at the end. Although I will admit that the very end seemed a little rushed.
I can see this book needing a certain type of audience because while it had quite a few different paranormal things in it, it's hard to say that it was particularly centered on one thing. It had a lot to do with reapers, souls, demons, and a mating bond. So, I guess if any of those interest you then there's potential.
It did concentrate a lot on the main characters' relationship once that got started up, but thankfully it didn't get Completely lost in it.
There were a lot of grammatical errors throughout the book. Some where sentences wouldn't even make sense, and I wasn't sure what word was missing or if an extra word was put in, etc.
Definitely potential, and I did like the writing style.
The story was entertaining and the whole way the author handled the paranormal elements was unique enough to pique my interest in the whole series. By the way, the mate thing was probably the best explanation ever. The writing was a bit choppy and the love scenes a tad abrupt but I'm hoping that smoothes out as the author gets more experienced.
Captivating story with a host of supernatural characters
This had me intrigued from start to finish! I loved the all the characters and that it was a varied mix of supernaturals and not just the regular tried and true types.
I liked that we got a fast burn fated mates story between Hazel and Alaric and I liked their dynamic together. They were also deliciously spicy together too!
The author did a really good job of fleshing out the side characters as well and making me want to jump straight into their books next!
This was exciting from the start. Hazel can speak to the dead. But the problem is there are no ghosts around. She meets Alarick and sparks fly. The troubles they find themselves and their friends in is nothing short of bonding for them. This was a great book and can not wait to read up on the other characters.

I really like Hazel. She grew up in a bad situation but she’s trying to make her life as an adult better. Hazel can see ghosts but she didn’t expect the town that she moved to to have no ghosts. She also did not expect to have a relationship with somebody so quickly. I do like the curls that she has working at her store they are fun. I am excited to read the next book in this series.
Steamy, Snarky & Romantic.🔥😏💘 A 3.5 Star Read 🌟 Shadow's Edge (Shadow Falls #1)
A fun new series by a 'new to me author'. This had an interesting take on the supernatural world. The characters were easy to like & relate to.😍 There's plenty of steam if that's your cup of tea.🔥 All of the town's ghosts have disappeared so they set out to discover why!😳
Hazel is a new ghost whisperer in town, who moves to Shadow Falls to find...no ghosts. And a HOT reaper who is wasting away from lack of souls. They're drawn. Fated. So damn hot together. And the tangling of their souls? GAH. They set out to solve the town's mysteries, and fall hard in the process. The book is small-town PNR at its most delightful. Alarik's brotherhood - a sexy demon, a grumpy vamp, a mysterious angel, a protective were - made me one-click the rest of the series in a heartbeat. Shadow Falls in paranormal Stars Hollow and I am here for it!
Really enjoyed this book. Good to see an new twist on the paranormal fiction genre with new types of supernaturals. It was refreshing on that front. Really liked the characters. Look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Very interesting premise with a lot of the favorite tropes. I’m a sucker for mate stories, throw in a unique element like a reaper and you’re in for a good time. Lots of twists and turns into discovering this new world. Enjoyable read for sure!
My only complaint is that it ended too soon. Not usually one to read paranormal books, more info fantasy, but this was such a fun read! Adding Alarik to my book boyfriend list!
Enjoyed the book but I wanted more depth to the characters. I want to know more about both the FMC and MMC which is a mark of a good book. I hope we see more of them in the sequels and the author set the side characters up well for their own books.
This book was so funny I was LOLing so many times and I loved this book when I went into it thinking I’d hopefully like it but absolutely loved it and can’t wait for rest of series now esp Dante and Remis it’s annoying and weird they’re not next or at least third after Silas and Bridget’s.
An entertaining, creative paranormal read that kept me pulled in from beginning to end. There’s a whole variety of supernatural beings and the storyline is refreshingly original. I enjoyed the characters and look forward to seeing the rest of the series unfold.
This is a first book for me by Lizzy! And it's amazing!! I enjoyed the characters and the story and I look forward to the next book and the new characters! Enjoyed the HEA for this couple!
Captivating from the first chapter where we follow Hazel as she navigates this new town and discovers there’s more to the supernatural than she anticipated.
I appreciated that we didn’t have a slow burn between Alarik and Hazel. However just as it started to kick off the story seemed to end abruptly, there were some plot points that I felt were rushed (Alarik tying himself to Hazel was a big one for me. That was way too early).
Overall it’s a great read, and I’m sure some of the issues I have with it will be answered in later books.
