Jon thought it was over… …he was wrong. It was just the beginning.
When he defeated the beast tide, he thought peace would come.
But whatever he thinks never happens.
The expansion he triggered attracted a much larger threat that he can’t control. Pick up this book to walk with Jon on his epic journey of power and winning attitude.
More Farming. More Town Building. More Awesomeness.
I don't know what happened between the first book and this one to make the authors turn John into a conceited jerk, but I have to say, it sucks. It's almost like the authors cast John in a good light in the first book, then decided that just wouldn't do for their hero, so went the complete opposite way in this book. Towards the end, thankfully, sanity reared it's head again, and John turned back into the person he was in the first book, but the whole "I'm a self-centered asshole vibe he had going on there for a while was so out of character, it almost made me stop reading. I sure hope there's none of that in the next book, because it would be a shame for me to quit reading this series, since it has so many interesting dynamics in it, and some rather unique game mechanics. There are (on occasion) skills/spells that pop out of nowhere, which is mildly irritating, but for the most part, this is a very well done piece, and it makes for some excellent reading for LitRPG fans, and perhaps even some readers who don't know a thing about LitRPG, but wouldn't mind some exposure to the genre.
I hate trying to write reviews because there are really only pass/fail results for me. Did I make it all the way through? Yes? 5 stars. No? There would be nothing here to read. In all fairness, if an author holds my attention from page one to the end, they’ve done their job. Anything less than 5 stars is petty criticism from someone incapable of even doing the job let alone doing a better one.
So in respect for the author and their work, I am going to start pasting this along with a generic review I found somewhere. “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
I really like this series. I am a fan of LitRPG and the use of it here is a little out of the ordinary and I really like it. Jon continues to grow his Village and he keeps getting lucky and whenever at a crossroad keeps choosing the correct way even when it drives him crazy not knowing or being able to control his choices. He has befriended even more characters and his choice of class has really helped him out.
The plotline is intriguing enough to get me to the second book, but the characters are written by a high schooler. A very average one. But as the author continues to throw in increasing amounts of gay-paranoia and become more obsessed with everyone's sexual attraction to each other it's just heading in a weird direction. But somehow no one's having sex.
Why are books about uptight losers so common in litrpg
The book is about a white night farm boy with unrealistic ideals that basically gets everything handed to him regardless of his repeated stupid actions.... Couldn't finish it
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
This story of a real farmer going into a game world with zero clue about anything yet every thing turns up roses for him mostly is a very interesting read.
Author(s) are super sizeist and way too concerned with looks. Also possibly homophobic. Otherwise would have been a good story. Not going to continue the series!
