Even in the middle of a never-ending war, new Captains have to be minted, and the quality of your coming reinforcements will determine the outcome of future battles.
Aer-ki Jyr is one of the top 20 science fiction authors on Amazon due to his extremely long and ongoing space opera epic STAR FORCE, one of the longest military science fiction series ever written.
As Star Force increases the size of it's navy as fast as possible, the accompanying need for new captains means that more and more officers will rise to fill the need. At the completion of their training the new captains must learn one last and vitally important lesson. That's achieved by bringing the newly promoted captains to a small frozen remnant of a destroyed planet. Kara is the archon who is attached to this team. She learns that one of the new captains has a far greater potential than anyone realizes. While she quietly updates his training and abilities, she recognizes something is amiss with herself. Her ultimate discovery has potentially far reaching consequences.
Not full of space combat but excellent in a different way.
I always like a lot of action with battles and fighting. This book starts a little slow but makes up for it in the end. It appears Kara finds a new direction and maybe a new very valuable ally. It is an entertaining read, short, but good.
More light for the light side! After a slow start amusing at times this ending is like going to a snail race that ends at warp speed. Start with a candle and ending with a super nova of hope for the future. The small tease of sexual tension woven through the chapter is engaging without dominating story line. Great Job.
This episode is a Followup on Kara who is isolating herself while contemplating her future role in Star Force and the universe. She unlocks a new uncontrollable ability in the Essence realm and enters a Tower to seek answers and gains an ally learns more about the Founders.
Cant wait for the next one.. This book was a good one show casing captains and Kara. The newb captains have to figure things out. Kara helps but feels something is wrong and probes like a good archon. You have to read too find out what
This was more like “the return of Kara” Very happy she is still around doing her thing Every one in star force is getting closer to the founders, which is probably not a good thing
