The life of a Grand Inquisitor is never easy, as Carl Beaumont can certainly attest. Despite losing a member of his crew, Carl must still lead his group onward, to ensure that the Prophecy is fulfilled, and the world saved. The remaining coins will be easy enough, if his group can survive the horrors of the wrecked research ship Prometheus.
Darkspawn around every corner, lethal force-fields, and a sadistic memory core seek to hinder their mission, as well as Nazi zombies, demons of every stripe available to the Abyss.
And, to make matters worse, even after he gets his people through that harrowing gauntlet, he'll need to commit heresy by taking a trip to the past to fulfill one of the line items of the thrice damned Prophecy.
As if things weren't bad enough, his least favorite Archduke from Hell keeps breathing down his neck. It should not come as much of a surprise, but Carl really needs a drink or three, and a vacation once all of this is over.
The author brings us another installment of Carl and Company. While not as funny as the first book, this one takes you on a journey of pure evil including horror, disgust, and yes, a little humor.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I recommend the series to anyone who likes books that are off the beaten path.
Once again, a great read. A little overdone in some parts that you'll see when you read them, but the author does warn you. Can't wait for installment 3 and what all is planned for the rest of the series!
