The Pleasure Wars #2

The Dom's Rules

Rate this book
I’ll admit it.
Things have gotten easier with Killian’s help (aka his money); but figuring out how to keep my own life, while being his fake wife and dealing with his twisted desires, is still a struggle.
Women constantly throw themselves at him, only further inflating his massive ego.
But I’m not one of those women—and I refuse to become one.
Sure, he’s the most attractive man I’ve ever seen. And yes, he can he make me practically cum with just his words. But I won’t be led by my physical desires.
I’m better than that.
When a young ingenue in the fetish world wants Killian to mentor her in the ways of being a submissive, I have no choice but to agree.
After all, the only reason I would say no, is if I was jealous.
But that’s impossible, because how can you be jealous for someone you don’t have feelings for? And I don’t have feelings for him . . . I swear.
But as each day passes, the lines between us are starting to blur.
And I’m afraid I may be the only one who isn’t seeing clearly . . .

SCROLL UP AND ONE CLICK The Dom’s Rules, part two in a tantalizing dark romance trilogy, The Pleasure Wars.

Testing the waters is how I am seeing book two of this series. It does not stand alone, so if you have not listened to the first book, I highly recommend you do! We are 4 months into Killian and Ash's arranged marriage, and the two have a comfortable pattern now. But when a wrench is thrown into the mix, we see Ash begin to change. Killian is definitely dark, and he enjoys a woman. Will Ash be the one for him? Is she jealous of his interest in others? Are their feelings for each other growing? And what a cliffhanger! I was a little shocked! I am enjoying this dark, deliciously steamy and naughty story. It's different from normal arranged marriages. The characters are complex and just when I think I have an idea of how things will go, Harper West throws in another twist. I can't wait for book 3 now!

Lacy Laurel and Scott Rider continue their narration of this series. I love Lacy's voice and she is Ash! She does the dark scenes so well, and then can turn on the bratty tone in an instant! I love the versatility! Scott Rider is fast becoming a favorite. He has an air of class to his voice that really makes the alpha in the character come out to play. Together, this series is a blast to listen to!

Ugh... I’ve never been so annoyed by a heroine ever. I love Killian and Ash together and when she gives in and stops over thinking things she is amazing but the other times I want to strange her. Killian on the other hand needs to stop playing games.. this Eve chick needs to go!

Part two of Ash and Killian’s story

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language and steamy intimate scenes (BDSM scenes, MF, etc.)

This is the second part of Ash and Killian’s story and should be read in order. Otherwise there will be spoilers and confusion regarding the details of their contract, etc.

This begins approximately 4 months after their “marriage”. It is about how they are still getting to know each other, interactions with others, and how Ash may or may not be adjusting to the BDSM lifestyle.

I have found this storyline interesting, especially Ash’s reaction to certain circumstances. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, so I will stop there.

part 2

Book two in the series follows a similar vein to the first as Killian and Ash continue to explore their dynamic.

What was interesting to me was the introduction of other people on Killians side in this book and whilst he admitted he didn’t enjoy playing with others as much and he noted how upset his actions made Ash he was still pig headed enough to continue and to even rub it in her face at times. Luckily there were some redeeming factors in this part of the series and we saw other sides to his character start to come through otherwise I think I would have been put off him and it would have ruined the relationship that was building irreparably.

Things are getting interesting.

Now that Ashlyn and Killian have been married a few months, things are getting interesting in their relationship. She can't fully submit his Dom, but she finds herself easily turned on by the lifestyle and it's messing with her mind. She's also finding herself jealous of the women who are willing to throw themselves at him and eagerly submit. Will their marriage make it to the deadline?

Great follow through

This book is a Great follow through from the first one. It's easy to follow. They are starting to develop feelings for each other although they won't admit it. The female character is becoming aware of her true nature and is starting to awaken. But he takes it easy on her. I can't wait to read the conclusion. Will they end up together? I highly recommend it to the genre lovers.

Dragging

I was excited to read the second part to Ash and Killians story but in all honesty this whole thing is been dragging alone. I put the book aside more times to just do something different. It feels like the second part to twilight, essential for the story and yet uou could have skipped pages.

Jealous is it her or him

I am giving this series he second book is hard to put down read it in about 3hours. I am not sure if I like the two Submissive ladies for the hot Dom but his view points are kinda sexy. I am looking forward to the third book... I have a feeling Sexyt Killian is about to get both jealous and possessive and who knows what his mom is gonna do.

Good story

I like the characters and the story. I almost gave up around 50% though over the mfc attitude about bdsm (which she enjoys.) It's just like, "4 months later and you still can't accept your own proclivities?" I was asking out loud if this is truly how a chunk of the population are? But it is a great story!! I'm off to read #3!

Overall this book was meh. The male MC was kind of an ass and i really didnt feel any chemistry between him and Ash. Only a few short times but not enough to make me love the book. It ends abruptly and i think theres a new love interest... which i dont love but of course ill be reading the last one just to finish the series...

Ash & Killian sigh

A great second book in the series. Ash and Killian are at it again! Poor Ash, so in denial about what she enjoys that she won't admit it to herself. Killian, hunky Dom who finally shows some vunerability, even if it's just in his head. Can't wait to read the next book!

With all the mistakes, I believe this was the unedited version.

Preston? or Killian? The author couldn’t even get the leading characters name right. The story line has merit and is spicy, but the book is unedited and makes it rough to read. I quit counting at 26 mistakes. Capitalization, punctuation, wrong names, bad grammar, etc….

Dominant and unknowing submissive

I really am enjoying this series. She's still who she is, unwilling to acknowledge that he's not the only "perv" in the relationship. Can they survive adding in outside stressors?

Good

Things are heating up in this story. I am loving the book. This is part two of a three part story and it's heating up. These characters are excellent and appealing. Love the humor between them.

Great Story 😃

I really love this series but I'm getting a bit put off about our heroines bitchiness, I mean come on, she never stops 😕. If she doesn't like the situation, get out 🤔. Thanks again Harper, the rest of this story is awesome 🤓.

Killian and Ashlyn get further into their year long arrangement. Both avoiding thinking about how they really feel and meeting other people. Book 3 here I come

The Dom’s Rules -2

This was also a very good story and a very erotic and exciting book. The additional male added to this story will help with the intrigue.

Not as great

The sequel wasn’t as good as the first book. Call me unsurprised. This is the part of the story where the characters start screwing up, so that’s never as fun to read as when they are first meeting and sparks (sort of) fly. I guess I’ll read the last one so I can see how it all turns out. This could have been one big book and I would’ve liked it better. Grrrr.

So, while this is book two in a trilogy, there was enough at the beginning if you picked this up one would know what’s going on.

Ash and Killian continue their relationship and have found a pattern that works for them. And Ash continues to deny she enjoys what their doing. But their contract allows for outside dalliances which Killian takes advantage of at the BDSM Club he favors.

Which leads Ash to get jealous. Something she freely admits to after many orgasms. But just as the book was ending, we get a glimpse into what another relationship could be like for her.

Again, this book leaves off at a point where you could just be done with the series. The only bit missing is a true happily ever after ending.

I feel Killian wanted to be invited to Christmas with Ash, even if he seemed to dislike the holiday. And I feel Simon is going to be a huge issue between Ash and Killian in the next book.
