Just too much

It was just a little too much to read about. I didn't like the husband even though I am not really sure what he actually did. Was it love woman he watched or just videos. Either would gross me out just like it did the wife. I would probably be as unforgiving and while I have faith, I don't have it as much as the people in the book. But it just was a so so book. I just had a hard time understanding how this evolved and why it took so long for her to find out. It tells you why but I just didn't buy it. Not a book I will ever revisit. Just not great. And sad too especially the part about his Mother. He was always blaming someone else for his sins and I think he always will.

Trusting him to lead

Rachel found out something about her husband that was a big surprise. It wasn’t something she would want to know. To be able to save their marriage she would have to forgive him.

West in for a surprise when he Rachel tells him what she found out. They definitely have a lot to work through with God’s help.

This story is something that happens in everyday life. I love how the author teaches us through Rachel and West’s story. They learned a lot by going to their church groups. It does a lot of work to get through what happened.

I received an advanced copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion.

T.K. Chapin is fast becoming one of my favorite authors to read. His stories do not show a quick fix to your problems. Instead they depict the human condition, flawed individuals trying to get through life, hurting the ones we love and trying to get better at loving God and each other.

This story touches on a topic that affects more people and families than people realize. Pornography is a marriage breaker, heart stirrer, doubt whisperer and tragically can cause family separation. This story defects a family that love each other that want to do the right things for their family. But when Rachel discovers porn on West’s computer, the trust is broken in their relationship.

The reality of navigating through the hurt is much harder than most would want to believe. Being able to stop and trying to rebuild trust and having a loving relationship again is a difficult journey.

Will Rachel and West try to solve this problem on their own? Is there a way God can heal broken trust? Can you ever love again? Will the family survive this betrayal?

Story of healing in a marriage ravaged by pornography. I loved how this story realistically portrayed the hurt and pain involved in situations like this and the process of finding healing with Gods help. I love how it accurately displayed the emotions and mental processing of both the husband and the wife. Most importantly I love how it beautifully revealed that healing begins after surrender to God. This story hit close to home for me with some marriage struggles leading to healing only after seeking God and surrendering to His lead.

Some of my favorite quotes
- The devil loves it because a person in a secret sun carries it alone and is stuck in a broken state of living. They can’t escape without jeopardizing everything.
- She has given up trying to fix her marriage and fight over everything. Instead she started to focus her energy on God and serving Him.
- Every day we are filling our minds and hearts with something. Whether or not that is God is up to us.

Rachel and West have a loving marriage in the beginning. But Rachel sees a change in their relationship that scares her. West has never worried about anyone discovering his secret, but Rachel finds out. She is devastated. But through counselling and turning to God she finds that she needs to be completely trusting in Him to mend the chasm between her and West. West desperately wants Rachel's forgiveness, but it is not coming. West too realizes he needs to be right with God if he wants to recover his relationship with Rachel. The road back to trust even though there is still love. This book is so relevant to the day we live in. Mr. Chapin once again has skillfully woven the truth of God's Word to answer the questions of forgiveness from God and forgiveness toward others. Wonderful characters and realistic story. Thanks for another wonderful book, Mr. Chapin.

Rachel and West have what appears to be your typical marriage after you add in a couple kids, a house, jobs, and just general life. Things are going along ok, but they don't feel as "in love" as they used to be. Add in a terrible secret that West has been hiding for more years than they have been married, and you have the recipe for relationship disaster. Will marriage counseling help? Can they turn this issue over to God and begin again? Can Rachel ever forgive West and trust him once more? All these questions and more are answered in Trusting Him to Lead. Whether you recognize yourself, or someone you may know in this storyline, you for sure won't be able to put it down. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, all opinions are my own.

Once again T K Chapin has tackled an issue that is subtly invading our society....pornography and the damage it does to a marriage with grace and clarity. My husband was a pastor for over 20 years and it was present in the lives of some people in every church we served. It was heartbreaking to witness the broken hearts of those who felt betrayed as with Rachel, the wife in this story. Healing does not come easy but with God at the helm of their lives West and Rachel did receive that healing. I will recommend this book to anyone for hope and encouragement. As I bonus, I discovered Sanctus Real and have been listening to their music. I received.a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

I like that this story is about Trusting God so we can forgive what seems to be the unforgiveable. I like that it points back to how we all have sinned & He has forgiven us. The beauty of the cross is forgiveness for all. We don't have to hold on to the darkness of unforgiveness anymore. Yes there are reap what you sow but there is also healing. I like that in this story there is restoration for both Rachel & West. I like that statistics are brought up for those involved in pornography & the diabolicalness of this sin. I like how ways of healing are brought out in the book & that the emphasis for healing is mostly our relationship with GOD that needs to be nourished constantly.

T.K. Chapin does a wonderful job of delving into all the emotions of broken trust in a marriage. I enjoyed the book and the hope that it shares that once we fully surrender our will to God, then He is able to restore what has been broken. I really like the fact that things aren't sugar coated; that the reality of hurt and broken trust, and anger are dealt with in this story. I like the way that T.K. Chapin always makes his readers aware that only through God and allowing Him to work can people find help and hope to move forward. I received an complimentary copy of this book, but have chosen to freely share my own opinions and thoughts.

West has been hiding a secret from Rachel for years. When Rachel discovers the secret West has been hiding she doesn’t know what to do. Pastor Matt is truly a amazing man. He is the perfect person to help West and Rachel get on the right track with their marriage. When Rachel finally gives in and goes to Susan’s bible study her life will change. You will see God working throughout this wonderful story. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could. T.K Chapin is truly a inspirational author. I have read most of his books and I can’t stop reading them.

First, I want to thank T.K. Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring your this review.

T.K. Chapin’s book Trusting Him To Lead is a book that tackles some very important topics. This book like T.K. Chapin Fashion has a lot of scripture and faith due to the subject material in it. By reading this you could tell this subject he was a firm believer on.

This book focused on love, loss, pornography in the marriage, and forgiveness on many levels.

As always T.K. Shows you not tells you some great messages.

T.K. Takes us to the past to learn more about the character and how they play into the storyline into today’s world.

Many couples could learn a lot from this book.

T. K. Chapin tackles tough subjects with understanding and compassion. Every marriage hits tough spots, some tough to get through than others. Also it is easier to see the problems with your partner than your own. A honest conversation with each other is important but a conversation with God is imperative for successful forgiveness and coming back together. This book gets to the heart of a common heartbreaking problem. I highly recommend it.
I was given an advance copy of this book. The opinions given are voluntary and my own.

Good story

I thought Rachel was pretty harsh. So unbending ( not a word but less than rigid ). Then the bells went off in my head. People aren't cookie cutter made, they are homemade. Each different. They had to work things out their way. I am glad West took it upon himself to start at the beginning with his Mom. It took a while but I enjoyed their ending.

Fav part. West's Dad. He was awesome. He did what he said. There was no discussion. Then he took it a step further. Home Security. That's how to raise a child.

In this series, this author has opened my eyes to what leaning on God and giving it all to God is all about. He does so by way of some hard topics. This one is no exception. How one's sin affects the whole family and how the need to look solely to God and not ourselves. Extremely well written. I absolutely loved it!!!!! Highly recommend. I received an advance reader copy from the author. Opinions are my own.

This is a heart wrenching story of a marriage gone bad when one discovers something about their mate that totally goes against God. It is a beautiful story in that it shows not only the heartache and distrust that festers into near destruction of the marriage, but by turning to God there’s hope in healing their hearts and learning to put their trust in God.

A 'must read'

Mr. Chapin shows his tremendous incite into the human mind and heart. He is exceptional in that he is able to accurately and vividly portray the thoughts and emotions of both men and women. He is not afraid to take on any issue. This topic of pornography was well handled.

Emotionally hard hitting story of porn, and its devastating effects on a marriage and their family. Both characters touched my heartstrings with their strong desires to save their marriage, but will love for each other prevail when guilt and shame push them apart? This is a clean and religious themed novel that I strongly recommend.

This three book series, His Tender Mercies, were a 1st read from T.K. Chapin. Books #1 & #2 were excellently written! Book #3, for me, was a little draggy at the beginning, but perked up & had an excellent ending! I will read more of Chapin’s writing & see how it goes!

As he stood there with her, a painful thought surfaced. If only my mother would’ve shown me unconditional love. Then it dawned on him like the sun rising on a new day. His mother. She was a wound that had never been healed.
