Gwenlyn Bennet has lived peacefully as an honorary member of the notorious Summers coven for ten years, but she's never known a blood relative until she wakes up with the ghost of her twin sister hovering above her bed. When the coven falls mysteriously ill, Gwenlyn embarks on a quest for a cure with the dubious help of her dead sister, but can the duo accomplish their task before the witches run out of time?
Alexandria Clarke is a writer, cat lover, and all-around optimist. She loves to immerse her readers in mystery and intrigue, meaningful friendships, and the worlds of characters who learn by doing. When she's not writing, Alex enjoys playing guitar, watching Wynonna Earp, and spending time with her family. She currently lives in Orlando, Florida with her partner and their four pets.
I read this as part of the Super Boxset. Ms. Clarke has written a series of connected stories that are well developed, has great characters, and keeps your interest. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each one. The books in this Super Boxset are: Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Christmas- Book 0-3 Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery, Book 0-3 Witch Myth Wildfire: A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery, Book 0-3
3.5 stars. This reads like 2 books mashed into one. The second half of the book is better than the first, and does a good job of tying everything together. The first half I would rate at maybe 3 stars, the last I would give a solid 4.
In A Nutshell: Kennedy does not believe her younger sister Norah is dead, although police find her bloodstained clothes. And so she goes off in search finding her among a coven of witches. Here is a witch story that although was basic in parts, also had emotional complexity and some depth. So I kept reading.
The Plot: Norah has been adducted to cure the ailing Summers coven. Kennedy sets out to find her kidnapped sister by following the magical clues that Norah leaves. Both sisters make personal discoveries.
The Protagonist(s):Kennedy is a rolling stone. She never manages to settle in a job or a home of her own. So, she returns to the parental home. I like the tall, capable character, who despite setting fire to all manner of things, regularly being sacked and successive bad luck, remains resilient.
Kennedy and Norah are new protagonists to the Yew Hollow series. I preferred Kennedy's character. I like her kick butt attitude. Norah is sweet. Perhaps that was the problem. I still enjoyed her role. It gave the writer an opportunity to show off her writing skills. The emotional complexities were more in-depth than one would expect on this type of book. Kenndey is intricate, and the relationship with her sister and stepmother will hold your attention.
However, Adriana, the stepmother was rather Cruella de Vil-esque and therefore simple. In parts, it was predictable and too unrealistic. Yes, I know it's fantasy none the less it's possible to over-egg the pudding. Some minor editing errors need correcting, such as spelling and the wrong word used. I would also have preferred the last three books to be one novel.
But the story is good. It has all the elements to make an intriguing read: magic, witches, traitors, love, and battles. It's a classic good versus evil tale with strong characters. And is a good read.

My rating system (* = star) 0* Could not finish this book (waste of time) 1* Finished the book but didn't like it. 2* Finished the book it was okay. 3* A good read worth your time. 4* An excellent read often with a novel concept or unusual plot. 5* A great read. A prominent example of the genre.
Gwenlyn Bennett had been an honorary member of the Summers Coven for 10 years, not by blood but by shared powers, and because she had saved the life of Morgan Summers, their leader. She never knew she had a blood relative herself until she saw what she thought was her ghost hovering above her bed as she woke up after Karma’s strong cocktails had her dizzy on her feet. Morgan and Gwenlyn were the only two psychic mediums in the United States and had the ability to see the dead – but seeing herself dead was not what she expected! It was sort of a relief when the ghost turned out to be her twin sister, Winnie Bennett.
When dark magic conjured a bad weather storm that the witches’ wards could not dispel, Morgan was worried. Lightning struck a phone pole which took down a power line. Morgan and Gwen tried to deal with the power line, but it rose and connected with Gwen. When lightning struck the live wire, thousands of volts surged through Gwen, covered in burns now as she was knocked unconscious.
When Gwen awoke, the sisters having worked to heal her as best they could, she was still shaky and buzzing on the inside from her experience. She slowly went downstairs to the others as the front door burst open and Yvette, one of Morgan’s many aunts, appeared in the dining room. Morgan rose from her seat at the table in full coven leader mode and asked Yvette what was wrong. Yvette told her to come with her right away to see this, and told her, “The whole town is gone.” Who is wielding black magic? Was the electrical attack on Gwen intentional?
But their troubles are not over. When the coven falls mysteriously ill, Gwenlyn and her dead sister scour the Archives to try to find a cure before time runs out for the ill witches. The others seemed to stabilize, getting neither better nor worse. But Alana was still unconscious, and Camryn was spreading fear throughout the coven. What or who is causing all of this?
This was another good story on the town of Yew Hollow and the adventures the coven goes through trying to keep themselves undiscovered by the humans. The characters are wonderful, especially as we get to know them better. Grab your copy and find out what has happened to the town and what the mystery is regarding the dark magic.
Yew Hollow is a sleepy little town with a great small town atmosphere and oh yes home to a coven of 40 witches, the Gwenlyn had come to train with Morgan. They had the same rare ability, to see and communicate with the dead. One night Gwenlyn wakes up to see herself floating above her. After the initial fright she was able to find out she had a twin sister who has died of cancer. There are some concerns, how can she be there, why didn’t she cross over and what does she want with Gwenlyn? Then everyone gets sick. Who can save them?
This paranormal cozy Witchy adventure mystery is filled with action, magic and family. The characters are simply amazing, so well developed, unique, personable and flawed. The storyline is filled with great twists, unexpected turns and interesting surprises that keep you interested in the book from beginning to end. The great thing about this book is the way the characters change and grow as they deal with their fears, internal struggles, changes in their magic and external obstacles. The coven is family and ultimately this is about how a family comes together or grows apart when times get tough, the sacrifices some members are willing to make , the selfishness of some and in the end acceptance of each oth,er. It is a great story, well written and worth reading.

This is the second book of the series and it is such an enjoyable read. It's a great story combined with mystery, suspense, murder and humor. Such great characters that you want to keep reading about. Great plot and story line. Recommend reading.

First I want to say that this is not your quick cozy read. It’s pretty much two books in one and it is long, but so worth it! I would also read Lost Magic: A Yew Hollow Witch Mystery before this one. It fills in some of the stuff between books 1 and 2. I’m so in love with these characters that I’m really hoping for more stories about them. I just don’t want them having to keep fighting for their lives in each one! I was kept on my toes through the whole book, though I did guess some of what was happening. There were quite a few twists thrown in. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend reading the series.

Overall, this was a fun read. The characters were entertaining for the most part and the story kept me engaged. I do have a few problems with it although they aren't deal breakers. The villain had a stereo type villain monologue. It was literally like three pages of back history as a speech as she talked out her plan. Why are only women capable of magic. Men can be carriers, but not do even the most minor magic? I wanted to shake the coven leader vigorously. I get she was under stress and story stuff but... She just felt like she lacked fundamental empathy at some points. None of it was a deal breaker, but you should be aware. Like I said, good book. I would read more from the author.
So far I found this to be the best of the Yew Hollow novels. This is the second book in the final Witch Myth trilogy, and it is one of the best books I've read with witches as the main character. At first I thought that I was reading the books in the wrong order, and then I discovered that this story provides us with background on the two characters we quickly met in the proceeding book, and sets up what I can only assume will be the final climatic ending in book three. No spoilers here! If you've been reading the Yew Hollow/Witch Myth books, this IS a must read!
This box set contained all 9 books of the Witch Myth series. A little sidenote, they are out of sequence, so that was a little confusing. However A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery series and the Witch Myth Wildfire series are more related as far as characters, where as Witch Myth A Yew Hollow Christmas is a sort of spin-off, but time wise it takes place between Cozy Mystery and Wildfire.
Over all a great boxed set. It's very light reading and the books are not very long. I would suggest to anyone with a long weekend or a holiday so it can be read quickly.
I loved this book from the very first page. I loved that the Summers' Coven had to go looking for a stronger witch to help them solve their problem. I loved that two new characters were introduced and they were sisters. Nora and Kennedy are so protective of each other and have a love that goes beyond family dynamics. I enjoyed watching Kennedy grow at her craft. I don't want to give away any juicy details so go and read this book you will love it.

Witch Myth Wild Fire is book two of the series and a good read. Gwen grew up in foster homes and never knew what it was like to have a blood relative until she wakes up and finds a ghost above her that looks a lot like her. Gwen has a twin sister who died from cancer and has come to guide Gwen. When a mysterious illness takes over Summers Coven Gwen and her twin sister must find a cure. This story is filled with magic, mystery, suspense, paranormal intrigue and so much more. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I chose five stars because I enjoyed this book. I had read the prequel and enjoyed it. I was expecting it to be all about Morgan, but she didn't appear for a while. I was fascinated to read about two new characters who are strong characters. They are half sisters, Kennedy and Norah, who have powers that they don't altogether understand. I was hooked by this book, but dissapointed when it ended because I was enjoying it so much.
Alexandria Clarke weaves another tale of mystery in Yew Hollow. She casts a spell over anyone reading this book so that you cannot put it down until you have finished, probably because it is so entertaining with all the wonderful characters, mystery, intrigue, and secrets. The author keeps us interested in this series by always giving us new and exciting storylines that flow flawlessly.

I always find it difficult when family members hate each other. I might not get along with mine, but hating enough to kill is definitely a whoa moment. I like that the coven has different abilities, instead of a cookie cutter one size explains them all. Many families are not blood relatives, but joined by commander experiences or a group cause. Through it all runs the power of love, just like this story shows.
Witch Myth: Wild Fire: Book 2 was a great read by Alexandria Clarke.Kennedy McGrath is banished from Yew Hollow and separated from her younger sister. She has no choice but to play dirty with the Summers coven. There is an age old curse that is bearing down on them and Kennedy teams with Gwenlyn Bennett to save the coven and her sister. They discover that the secret to breaking the curse is hidden in Kennedy's mysterious past.
Back to problems with the somewhat dead - again. Whom to trust - who is your true family- if most of the town is blood kin, are parts of the family then likely evil, or maybe just a little dark and a lot nuts?
Power versus love and sacrifice are recurring themes throughout this awesome epic series!

This was such a great book. The more I read, the more I liked about it. I have read a few of these books by Alexandria Clarke, and I have loved all of them. The women in the books are independent and are very powerful. No matter what is thrown at them, they go above and beyond what has to be done.

So fast paced, intricate, and spellbinding ( please excuse the pun), you will not put this book down until the last word....and then, feel bereft at losing a window into the lives of new friends. This is, without a doubt, a book worth reading, from first word to last....ENJOY!!!

I really enjoyed this book. It has well-developed characters and an interesting plot to keep you turning pages until the very end. No sex and only mild violence.
This is the second book. Which l must say I had to read after the first read. I was not disappointed. The storyline continued to keep me interested what was to happen next. The characters were fun and witchy at best. Yes it leaves you wanting more and a cliffhanger too.
This book grab me from the very beginning. I could't put it down. The characters were great as was the story line. I can not wait to read the next book in the series. If you like a good fast read with a surprise ending this series is for you.
Fun, engaging, and a page turner! This series is on fire! ( no pun intended). Clarke tells e story in a way that encourages you to invest in the characters and care about their lives.
