The Commission

Rate this book
A man named Luke Harker wants to take a local Calmar, IA church away from Father George Emory. Harker and his group, The Commission, want it lock, stock, and barrel. The Father says it serves the needy in the dystopian landscape that North America has become. That suits Harker just fine because that means Saint Peter's Parish is full of food and supplies. Enter Jesuit Brother Jerry Baxter. Ready to redeem himself for his "old sins" in Ripon, against The Red Cartel, he arrives in Calmar to negotiate on behalf of the church. This is his chance at redemption, a chance to get back in God's good graces. However, he discovers Harker has no plans of negotiating. He wants the parish and will take it by force if necessary. That means a fight, the last thing that Brother Baxter desires. But, Father George will not give up his church without such a fight. How will the church and its parishioners take on a force more than five times their size? How can any come out of such a battle alive... including Jerry Baxter himself?

Began writing after the age of 50.

Novels are based on recurring dreams that can last for weeks at a time.

No where near as dark as my writing would make me. Happy guy with a normal life.

Loves all things dystopian.
