മനുഷ്യരെയാണ് യാത്രക്കാരന്‍ ഇതിലുടനീളം കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്നത്, കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതും. യാത്ര കാറില്‍ ആയതുകൊണ്ടോ കൂടെ ഗൂഗിള്‍ദൈവം ഉണ്ടായതുകൊണ്ടോ വഴിക്കപ്പുറവും ഇപ്പുറവുമുള്ള മനുഷ്യരെ അയാള്‍ കാണാതെ പോകുന്നില്ല. പ്രതിഭാധനനായ ഒരു ക്യാമറാമാന്‍ ആയിരുന്നിട്ടുകൂടി, സ്ഥലങ്ങളെയോ എടുപ്പുകളെയോ അവയുടെ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിക് താരുണ്യത്തിലല്ല അയാള്‍ കാണുന്നത്. ചരിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പല എടുപ്പുകള്‍ക്കു ചുറ്റും ഇങ്ങനെ വേണു നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അത് ഹാലേബീഡിലെ ഹൊയ്‌സാലേശ്വരക്ഷേത്രമോ ബദാമിയിലെ കില്ല മസ്ജിദോ ആയിരിക്കാം. എന്നാല്‍ അത്ര ഉറപ്പില്ലാത്ത ജീവിതങ്ങള്‍. ഹാവേരിക്കടുത്ത രുദ്രപ്പ, ബിജാപ്പൂരിലെ കുതിരക്കാരന്‍ യൂസഫ്, കുതിര കാജല്‍ ഇതൊക്കെയാണ് വേണു തിരയുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങള്‍.

I love reading books, solo traveling, and watching movies. This book is written by someone who is a master of all these three disciplines.

Venu describes his extraordinary travel experiences throughout his Indian solo trip in this book, 'Solo stories.' He visits many places of historical importance and vividly illustrates their contemporary and historical significance.

When I hear the name, Venu first thing that comes to my mind is what happened in the cinema theatre when I went to see the movie Munnariyippu on the day of its release. People sat in their seats shell-shocked, unable to do anything for almost a minute after the movie was over. That shows his astounding craftsmanship and omnipotent repertoire.

When I accidentally happened to be in the place where this book's publishing ceremony was being held, I didn't even think twice about canceling all my plans to attend the function to see the amazing individual I always admired and get a signed copy of this book from him.

You should never miss this book if you love traveling.

Such a lucid prose by ace cinematographer Venu. The legacy of his grandfather is intact and seen in this travelogue named Solo stories. Can't get over the chapters, where he has given importance to people, the history and even animals. Great read.

വളരെ മികച്ച ഒരു സോളോ സ്റ്റോറി തന്നെയായിരുന്നു വേണുവിന്റെ " സോളോ സ്റ്റോറീസ് " വളരെ ലളിതവും ശൂക്ഷ്മവും ആയ ആഖ്യാന രീതിയും, വിവരണവും. വളരെ പെട്ടാണ് വായിച്ചു ആസ്വദിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന പുസ്ഥകം.
