An incubus has infiltrated the Sexy Sins Retreat to snatch recruits for Hades’ dungeon, and the gods chose—or rather conscripted me into purging the incubus and getting things back on track as director. That’s definitely one of my specialties.
I've got four smoking-hot bodyguards whose first job is to ease me through my ascension to the Underworld. Imagine if the flu made you uber horny and your bodyguards were an angel, a werewolf, a vampire, and a demon. Nice problem to have, right? Except I'm on a mission. I want my destined mate back. Funny enough, so do they, and they're all convinced I’m that mate.
I’ve got one chance, one month, to solve the problem and find my beloved somewhere in the Underworld before I’m slung back to my real life. Trouble is, I can’t keep my mind, or my hands, off my bodyguards.
Finding my soul mate has never been more . . . distracting. ----- Tate’s Tale is the first book in the Sexy Sins Retreat series sizzling paranormal rom-com with four irresistible guys and a spunky heroine who doesn’t need to choose.

Winning books is always fun. Winning books with plots sounding awesome is even better. I was therefore really happy when I heard that I won an e-copy of this book. Reverse Harem and Greek Mythology, a few things I really enjoy. So, this morning I was really excited to start reading. But I'm afraid that didn't last too long.
I'm pretty sure there are people who like this book and appreciate it, but I'm afraid I'm not one of those. Although I totally enjoy well written sex-scenes in books, I need a story, a plot and a context. I want the sex to be part of the story, part of the plot. But in this case it felt like it was the entire story and the entire plot.
There were a few glimpses here and there from the previous lives the characters led on earth, but even those glimpses and conversations were mostly focussed on sexual experiences. And I get that the series title of this book is the sexy sins academy, but still. Almost every conversation, almost every little thought, almost every little action had something to do with sex. And although there's nothing wrong with that, that wasn't why I wanted to read this book.
I was actually interested in the incubi plot, in the Hades plot, in what was going on at the academy and on how it's gonna be fixed, even distracted. But up until now we haven't seen or met an incubus (well, not that we know of), we haven't seen the school (apart from one hallway or so) and we've seen one small scene with Hades that was all about...sex.
Even though I also won an e-copy of the second book I'm not entirely sure if I should claim it. Maybe I should ask the author to gift it to someone who enjoyed the first book far more than I did.
Tate’s Tale is the first book in the adult mythology based fantasy series, Sexy Sins Retreat by Lilith Darville. This book is also a reverse harem and is pretty steamy, so it is not for a younger audience. Overall, I enjoyed this book and I have already started to continue on with the series. It is a series that is a super quick read, lots of fun and is addictive. but it got off to a rocky start for me. I felt like the start of the story was too rushed and kind of confusing, but after the first few chapters, I put the start aside and quickly fell into the story. This was a book, and a series, that got better as it went on.
In Tate’s Tale, we meet our main character Tate as she is being pulled from her hospital room to some kind of in between world. She is told that she needs to fix some problem at an other-world academy- the Sexy Sins retreat. They have been having an incubi/sucubi problem and they are in desperate need of some administrative help. The reader quickly learns that this academy is run by the gods of greek mythology, and you all know by now that I love a book featuring greek gods. In this world there are also examiners, whose job it is to help souls ascension to the Underworld. They are assigned to Tate to help her get situated as headmistress of the academy, and they are also her destined mates. But they can’t know that they are each other’s mates. This aspect of the story bugged me. I didn’t really understand why they had to be cloaked from one another, and it never really made sense to me. But be that as it may, they were clocked so upon first glance they would not be able to recognize the other person as their mate. Fated Mates is always a hit trope for me, and this was no exception. I loved the guys and their interaction with Tate.
There was not too much incubi/sucubi interaction in this book. It served more of the setting the groundwork for the next books purpose, and it did a good job at that. I am interested in seeing where the series is going to go. Overall, this book was a lot of fun once I got past the first few chapters. If you are a fan of mythology fantasies and paranormal romances, and if you enjoy them on the steamier side, this will be the perfect series for you. The books are just over 200 pages, so you can breeze through them quickly and binge read all four books in no time. That is what I am currently in the middle of, and I am really enjoying myself. They are a lot of fun.
This is a RH where the FMC is going to be the headmistress of a school. Tate’s would is dragged to the other side by Hera who wants her to get rid of the incubus and succubus problem at their school but she doesn’t want Tate or the guys getting side tracked so she has a spelled placed on them all so they can’t realize they are destined mates. Tate has a lot to figure out about this world and the rules. There was some sex and a little bit of plot. I’m hoping in the next books we get to learn more about Tate’s pst life and also her connection with these men. I also hope there is more of the plot with the incubi and who’s helping them avoid being caught. This book ends on a cliffhanger so I really want to know what’ll happen next. There is promise to the potential plot that is being set up I just hope it continues.
This book had me absolutely dripping! I literally wanted to read it 24/7 until I (I mean it) was finished. If the afterlife is even a fraction like it's depicted in Tate's Tale, then gods take me now. This is an absolute must read for anyone who likes burning RH romance fantasy novels. This book sparked my inner goddess and I can't wait to see where the rest of the series takes me.
First off I love the cover! This is a well written Book it's got some pretty amazing characters! I couldn't put this down! I look forward to next book in the series!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book I enjoyed meeting our FMC Tate she’s the new Headmistress at Sexy Sins Academy and has only a month to fix the Academy and to add to the pressure she has to find hers destined mate! This book is extremely steamy with four hot bodyguards it has action, romance and suspense and wonderful characters I can’t wait to see where it leads in future books.
Vampires,Werewolves ,Demons and of course the challenging Gods. Who wouldn't want to be whisked away while her body is stuck in a coma to a beautiful place with four very stimulating men to explore. Lilith captures your deeper fantasies in the first book and will keep you entranced. Can Tate survive the god like men by her side and deal with the gods too? Can't wait to find out in book two
Great read with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. A steamy paranormal, academy romance full of gods, goddesses, and paranormals. This book has drama, suspense, intrigue. Tate Spencer is the new temporary Headmistress of the Sexy Sins Academy. She has only one month to fix the academy and find her destined mate. She has four hot bodyguards and they all claim to be her mate. Read to find out who her mate/s are! My only complaint....there is a cliffhanger but I really enjoyed this read book and can't wait to read the next book. I recieved an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
A wonderful story with a great storyline and charaters. A hot paranormal and academy romance full of gods and goddesses, paranormals, drama and eroctic. Tate Anya Spencer is the new temporary Headmistress of the Sexy Sins Academy. She has one month to fix the academy and find her destined mate in the underworld. She has four hot bodyguards that claim she is their mate. Will she be able to find her mate in the Underworld? Can she resist her bodyguards? I really enjoyed this read from start to end and can not wait to read the next book. I recieved an ARC and leaving my honest and voluntary review.
This book is pretty much a detailed explanation of what is BDSM and the various kinks, fetishes and practices inside the community. Topics of what is Dom and what is a Sub are covered, hard and soft limits and some other fetishes are explored through the main character. She is in a coma due to a shooting in her school and she is whisked away to help the Greek kinky gods help filter out some incubi demons that keep snatching human souls for Hades kinky dungeon. There is also some good world-building regarding the different phases each soul has to pass in order to be sorted out in its correct path. Greek gods are apparently quite kinky and frequently break their own rules which is undoubtedly very assholish. I liked the different men, we are given some backstory too which is cool. I will be reading the next one since this one covered only 7-8 days so far.
An interesting start to a new series. We meet Tate as she is in a coma physically but wakes up at the Sexy Sins Academy. She was chosen to be the new headmistress if she accepts the job. This comes with four sexy bodyguards that are supposed to help her adapt but things are never that simple. Great writing that creates a world you will find fun yet still full of tension and action. Cliff hanger ending that leaves you wanting more. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
An excellent story with a unique premise. The intersection of Greek mythology with a reverse harem romance is just delicious. The chemistry between Tate and her men is smoking, and I just can’t wait to read the next book in the series (Tate’s Task).
Much anticipated series and just what I was waiting for. This story has all the elements I crave with sexy paranormals, gods and goddensses, sensual erotic heat all wrapped up in a well written storyline from start to finish. Lying in a coma in hospital Tate Anya Spencer has been chosen by the Gods to be Sexy Sins Academy's headmistress. The Goddess Hera literally dropped Tate into Bardo (the in between) to clean up an incubus infestation, the first days can be hard on the the body but "O" so sexy when you meet your bodyguards aka the school examiners whom all believe you are their fated. The gods are keeping secrets from everyone not to mention Hades is hot for your tail and only a month to get the school back in order with four sinfully distracting men, what's a lady to do but take charge. This is the first time reading a book from this author and it did not disappoint as I'm left with an excellent and exciting ending. Needless to say I'm ready for the next book...please!!!
"It's all about sex, baby!" this might as well have been the title... I actually quite liked Tate/Anya. I liked that she was a proper grown-up for a change, an adult with an actual career, a life and all that and not just another barely legal bartender/barista/waitress... I like that she has plenty of backbone, intelligence and courage to speak her mind, but sadly it all gets lost in a very one dimensional story where it really is all about sex, kink and BDSM. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised given the series title. But what happened to the story promised in the blurp? Headmistress of the school? Troubles with Incubi and Hades, etc. ? They barely get a mention.. Also, I might've liked the guys as individuals, but as a group they simply don't work for me. Add to that the fact that I read one too many stories of greek gods or other ancients messing about with people recently and I'm all to happy to drop this series.
DNF - quit at 28% Just couldn’t get into this. The plot was odd, the world building isn’t very good, I was lost from the point I started & never really found a way into liking the story. I thought the Greek Gods would play a much bigger part to the story than they did. The characters were bland, with a “2 track” mind (find their mate & sex). I need more from a book than that. Definitely won't continue with the series...
At my age (approaching 60), life is way to short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
First off the only reason this book got 2 stars is because I like the characters and their personalities. The rest on a one. This book was nothing but sex from start to finish. There is a plot, it was talked about but nothing in this book even went in this direction except just talking about it. The only actual interaction besides sex that was interesting was the last couple of pages. Just not for me. I like a balance of steamy, action, and suspense.
Deepest desires are never supposed to be known, right? If you are striving for Nirvana with your mate, these desires become the plaything of the gods!
Lilith Darville pulls our blinders of humanity off...actually RIPS them off, with Tate’s Tale, a Fated Mates Shared Romance. And you can feel the heat throughout this tumultuous tale of love and grief and love and surprises!
This book was worth waiting for. Greek Gods causing havoc. An mc who has mates but is spelled to not recognize them. It borders on erotica but has a storyline , so well worth the read. I cant wait to see where Tate goes next.
Sad to say I gave up at 53%. I just couldn't get into it. By the blurb the book had a lot of potential but it just didn't hold my attention and seemed to go off on random tangents leading no where. Maybe it got better in the last half but I just couldn't keep reading.
A mashup of all the genres! Okay, maybe not ALL of b them, but a good many. We have Greek mythology, vampire, werewolf, academy, reverse harem, bdsm, enemies to lovers, and some enemies-to-lovers all mixed into one.
Love the characters. The first few pages are the best. I like the whole book. Wonderfully written cannot wait until next book. Recommend to all book lovers.
Will she be his Tate? Can she fix what is broken? Can she fall for all of them? Finding the answers is the fun of this book. Great storyline, great storytelling.
