Sarah Newcomb's life is about to change forever when she receives a telegram from her belated cousin, that will change her life. Once she arrives at the small ranching town though, she will soon find out that selling the inheritance will not be as easy as she expected. Will she be able to survive this complicated challenge and fit into a new lifestyle? Is happiness even a probability when she is so far away from home and while having her own parents taking advantage of her for their own benefit?
John Hill is very different from anyone else she has ever met. Although he grew up in an orphanage, completely penniless, he is determined to work hard and prove himself. When John recognizes how confused she is, he is the only one to help her. Would he ever find the power to overcome his reticence and admit that he had fallen in love? Will his lack of manners and social graces become an obstacle to a life of happiness?
Sarah has found a sense of freedom that she never knew that existed, and a man that she could finally admire. Soon, a bond is formed between them, which will make them stand together against forces that are crooked and frightening. Could it be possible that a man, brought up in the hard world of an orphanage, and a girl, from the very top of society, have the same aims in life? Conspiracies against them will make everything more challenging, but the path of true love never runs smoothly anyway...
"A Relentless Love Defying Destiny" is a historical western romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
If an offer sounds too good to be true, chances are…
Sarah Newcomb comes from a wealthy family. Her parents want her to marry a wealthy man. She looks for a way to avoid the union.
When she inherits a ranch out west, she is determined to visit it, rather than just sell it. Hoping the man will move on to another target for his bride.
Her property inheritance has one major catch; she has to live on it and work it for ten months. If she does not, the land will be sold and she will owe the outstanding loan on the property with no way to pay the mortgage. Her next-door neighbor, a white-hat rancher, steps in to help her keep the property. He asks for first dibs if she decides to sell.
There are multiple black hat characters in this tale. What does the rattlesnake banker want? How far will he go to get it? How many thugs will threaten Sarah and her property?
Read to find out how one caring man can make a difference to a lady who is clueless about ranching and collects stray people! Can the rancher help her save the ranch?
A Relentless Love Defying Destiny is a jam packed story full of hope, hard work, thieves, gunslingers, a banker out to get his way and more suspense and fear than anybody should have to deal with. When the time came to show they were not giving in, their lives was put in jeopardy. Land stealing was going on around them and the entire ranch hands volunteered to protect that ranch and they did just that but their was still danger waiting on them. This is a book that will take your emotions on a ride like being on a runaway horse. But the love for the people working on the ranch was like family. Their children all were being raised together and they worked together to make their ranch their own little safe port in the storm.
A high society lady inherited a ranch from her cousin and the help of a neighbor. Sarah, a feisty young woman and John a rancher who was raised in an orphanage and kept to himself became partners to improve the ranch, save an orphan, and over come evil. And, quite a partnership, full of adventure, danger and love. A wonderful story.
The story was nice and had good morals of different aspects of life. Other than seeming more like a narrator viewpoint, with lots of short, clipped sentences, I enjoyed the content very much.
Enjoyed this western romance. Well written. Do not like the extended epilogue because my paperwhite kindle doesn't let me download. I must download from my computer. Also with 80,000+ words the story author should be able to tell the whole story.
Sarah inherited more than a ranch from her cousin in Montana. She inherited a new life full of new relationships. However, the road to true love never runs smoothly. John and Sarah learn that through many action filled occurrences.
I enjoyed the story very much. The additional epilogue was also great. The only thing I was dissappointed in was the lack of Christian base in the story line.
ONE ENGAGING ADVENTURE!!! Bring it on! Carol brought out the big guns with this bad boy delivering the top of high class to the dregs of society with destiny and fate pulling rank. A tumultuous wild ride with a bounty of astonishing events and a bevy of daunting circumstances thrusts this baby together sleek, shiny and tight. A vortex of spinning emotions bursting in to play front and center. Frustration, dissention, secrets and suspense compounds as tension spirals propelling this bad boy to life beautifully. Throw in turmoil and destress along with deceit and conspiracies and you have a recipe for disaster. Hurdling the trials and tribulations struggling with deceit and conspiracies that blasts this bad boy wide open. The characters personalities are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities that transform and blend smoothly. The scenes are vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Carol, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
With lots of determination, hard work and working together, they won!
Another fantastic well written book by this author has become one of my top favorites! Sarah inherited her cousins ranch in a small ranching town. Her plan was to go there, sell it and return home. She finds out she has to work the ranch for 9 months to be able to get it. Being a city girl, she doesn’t know how. She’s a hard worker, determined, willing to learn with a good business sense. John Hill was her belated cousins neighbor and good friend. He’d been feeding her cousins animals and doing what was necessary until she came to run it. Sarah needed help learning how to run the ranch. John volunteered. Someone wanted the ranch and was doing everything to scare her into selling early. They were determined not to let that happen. With a great story line and all the twists and turns, this is a book well worth reading! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I was given a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion of it. I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
I think I smiled for hours reading this book. Sarah is a well educated debutante from the east who has inherited a ranch from a cousin she never knew. John is her new neighbor and was best friends with her cousin. Shy John doesn't quite know what to expect with Sarah but she definitely has designs on John. And this is definitely their love story. But they seem to gather a rather unique family around them to work the ranch. Jim, Beth and Mack, Eli and the pigs, cows, goats, chickens and a cat and dog. And what western romance would be complete without a villain or two? I guarantee you'll love this book!
I loved this book. When I pick up a book by Carol Colyer, I expect strong characters, especially the women, humor, romance and a story line with several twists and surprises. This book provides all of those. City girl, Sarah, shows lot of grit when she is confronted by having to stay and work the ranch she was left by her cousin or lose the ranch and be saddled with debts. John Hill is a true white-hatted hero. He helps her with all she needs to know to run a ranch. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Carol Colyer, and this is my voluntary and honest review. Wow! This is the best book I have read by this author. It is full of adventure and love and the extended epilogue really makes a superb ending. Sarah and John not only love each other but their love goes out to those who are less fortunate. I highly recommend this book, and I can't wait to read the next book by this author. I am never disappointed when reading her books.
Super book! Carol Colyer has hit the nail on its head with this gem I just loved it. Sarah has received information that she has inherited a ranch. Setting off with plans to sell and return home but as with so many plans, there are a few bumps in the road. She does have help from John Hill. Now there is also danger and a mystery who wants her ranch so badly that they would hurt her to get it? This was a very engaging read and I highly recommend it.
Wow! What a beautiful and heartfelt story. The story line was fantastic & kept me awake turning pages. Sarah Newcomb, a socialite inherits a ranch from her ‘supposedly’ cousin but there is a wonderful & scary family secret. Sarah meets John Hill, a rancher living next door who grew up in an orphanage. The two are entwined in friendship, love, evil bankers and murderers. 5 stars & a must read for book lovers. Great ending.
Sarah inherited a ranch from her cousin and has to finish out the contract with the Land Commission and pay off the debts before she can sell it or she loses everything. John her closest neighbor and friend of Jacob's offers to teach her how to be a rancher and the two of them end up in a partnership and end up merging the two ranches to help protect Sarah from the crooked banker that went behind her back to her father to force her hand to sell out.
Once you begin the story of two people from totally different backgrounds, you will not be able to stop. The trials and tribulations of the Western early settlements. John and Sarah are thrown together and share one adventure after another creating a strong, loving bond neither expected!
This is the story of John & Sarah. It is detailed story of their life before and after they meet. No detail goes unturned. They go through a lot of trials and tribulations to get where they are in the end. There is action, also. There is a great story line as well. It is a very well written book and keeps you enhanced throughout the whole story. I highly recommend this book.
