This beautifully packaged book with colorful illustrations provides a collection of humorous quotes and special descriptions from Charlotte's Web, in a collection for readers of all ages.
Elwyn Brooks White was a leading American essayist, author, humorist, poet and literary stylist and author of such beloved children's classics as Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, and The Trumpet of the Swan. He graduated from Cornell University in 1921 and, five or six years later, joined the staff of The New Yorker magazine. He authored over seventeen books of prose and poetry and was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1973.
White always said that he found writing difficult and bad for one's disposition.
Mr. White has won countless awards, including the 1971 National Medal for Literature and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal, which commended him for making “a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children.”
This book of quotations from Charlotte's Web is like catching up with an old friend. One of my favorite books when I was a small child. Forgot how much wisdom there is in this book. Glad to start out this new year by finding this book in my garage. Will read again and again; a way to 'center' myself when everything is going wrong.
I absolutely loved this book! This book incorporates great quotes and has little poem-formatted texts. This book explored the different seasons in addition to having a general theme of appreciating childhood.
This was a very sweet inspirational book that I received from Kandice last year. There's quite a few quotes from the original story, and it's one of those books that is bound to make you smile, all the more so when it comes from a friend with a pound of peanut butter fudge! :D ♥
I love Charlotte's Web, and this was a nice little taste of it, with quotes and drawings from the book, but it was like eating one potato chip -- wonderful as it was, I didn't feel satisfied and wanted more.
Cute book with lots of fun quotes and stories from the beloved story of Charlotte's Web. I plan on using several of these quotes for my weekly article. 5 Stars
I loved Charlotte's Web and I loved this little book of quotes from that book. I especially liked the way the quotes were arranged by subject of the changing seasons. It was nice.
