Our arrival in Uppasala is delayed another volume as at our first port of call on the Northern Continent, Zenjirou gets ensnared by the political machinations of local royalty and the church. It was a pretty good volume. I even enjoyed the maid side story more than usual.
Unlike my first expectations, it is not as much the sail trip itself that becomes the centre of the story, no pirates, or raging storms, let alone ship wrecks. Instead Zenjirou ends up in the middle of the politics of the Northern Continent which gives the man (and the readers) a great opportunity to learn about the political and religious situation of the Northern Continent and even drop a hint or two on the ancient history. There is no real action, but a decent amount of politics and the fair share of information on the world. The exposition leads to some great world building, depicting an intriguing picture of what is to come, but it does drag on a bit at times even though the author does try to summarize thing as much as possible. Still, I really enjoy this series and this volume did not disappoint.
