A set of rules to live by; a code of conduct for surviving on the streets. “I live by the g-code, I die by the g-code, don’t rat, don’t snitch, don’t bend, don’t fold” - B.G. Tay and Biz were best friends raised by the code of the streets, the G-CODE. They come from a place where you either play by the rules or you die; there’s no in-between. Brian “Biz” Bizmark is slowly making a name for himself in the streets and is planning to one day have it all, with the help of his best friend, TaySean “Tay” James. The only problem is, Tay isn't with it. He is determined to rise above the stereotypes of black men where he comes from, until a series of events forces him to finally jump off the porch and he lands headfirst into the game. Like a rocket, Tay takes off and is now flooding the streets himself, but nothing is going how he planned. Biz and Tay are on the brink of being enemies, all because of violations of the unspoken code of the streets. Loyalty, love, and brotherhood, are all put to the test when outsiders infiltrate their tight circle, and they find themselves weaving a deadly game of chess. Just when things can’t get any worse, they are forced to choose between the hand life has dealt them or the G-CODE.

I absolutely loved this book and I would love it if there was a sequel! Hint. Hint. The characters were all amazingly beautiful in their own right! The story flowed and it kept my full attention (unfortunately, I had prior commitments that prevented me from reading the book in one sitting)! I definitely recommend this book. My only complaint was the grammatical errors (fix that babygirl)!!! Arabia, keep writing; don't make me wait a long while before giving me another TrapFiction book!!!
I have read a lot of books this year, a so far this has been thee absolute best of them all.
From beginning to end the story flowed without any hiccups. More important than the flow, were the characters. It’s rare that I read a book where I build a connection with so many characters but this one had me feeling love for everybody... EXCEPT DON.
The story is so true to life that you kept help but connect with the struggles, good times, everyday lives and even deaths of these Characters. It’s so good that you have to pace yourself through it because it’s very easy to find yourself neglecting real life and all it has to offer to read this in one sitting.
