Winner of the 2008 Bernice Blackgrove Award. In Discount Fireworks, Wendy Taylor Carlisle has trained her laser eye on the facts of our lives from a fifties childhood to the exploding contemporary world. From Adam and Eve to the melting glaciers to life in the Andromeda Galaxy, no topic is off-limits. Written with a bow toward the formal elements, FYI there are sonnets here, Discount Fireworks' hallmark is plain speaking. Prepare to be entertained and amazed by its out-of-the world world.
