We're rocking around the Christmas tree. And under it. And up against it. But will we be rocking a baby in nine months?
I'm a ski instructor at a fancy resort in New York. And I'm plowed into by a handsome older guy careening down the path. He apologizes and says he was staring at curves. And he doesn't mean the ones on the slope. Daniel's a billionaire who's having his son's birthday party here. The kid is spoiled and not exactly the most well-behaved. Daniel offers me a job as Charlie's nanny but I know nothing about kids. I do know it's not a good idea to mix work and pleasure. But when I'm fired from my job at the resort, I have no choice. Soon, Daniel is warming me up from the cold winter nights. And Charlie's behaving better because he loves having me around too. But I'm not sure what exactly we're doing. And then I find out Daniel might be the reason I lost the job I liked. I know he's cocky, dominant and controlling. I even like that about him sometimes. Like when he pinned me against the Christmas tree and took my virginity. But would he really force me to work for him? I'm already questioning everything, when I find out I'm pregnant. This is supposed to be the best time of the year. But it's the worst timing ever.
Daniel always takes what he wants and claims what's his. But what about when he finds out I'm carrying his little bundle of joy?
Bundle of Joy is a standalone Christmas-themed single dad secret baby romance. Jamie Knight promises to always bring you a happy ever after filled with plenty of heat. And never any cheating or cliffhangers!
This was a cute quick read felt like everything happened really quickly with this couple and there were a few things about Daniel that was a complete turn off. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of this book.
Catharine has been working at the ski lodge for the past few years when she is in charge of young boys sixth birthday party, everyone is trying to make the day special but when there is a mishap one of the employees is rude to the birthday boy Charlie she steps in to intervene, there was an attraction between Catharine and Daniel from the start and she is shocked when he offers her the job on nanny and she is considering it but when she is suddenly fired she has little choice but to accept the nanny position. The question is will she be able to resist the blazing chemistry between her and Daniel or will she be left with a broken heart when she learns that he could have been the reason she lost her job in the first place? One thing is for sure she will be leaving Charlie and Daniel with more than she came with.
Daniel just wanted his son to have the best birthday possible especially with the amount of time he has had to spend away from him recently involving work and nanny after nanny leaving. When he meets ski instructor Catharine she and his son Charlie connect he knows that she is something special and knows he needs to find a way of getting her to be not only in Charlie’s life but his as well. Could this be the start of a new future or will she leave them just when they need her the most?
This isn’t exactly a new plot with single father and son being abandoned by the mother, young virgin arrives on the scene and things get complicated but it’s a trope that I enjoy and Jamie Knight always has books that I find believable and can lose myself in. However I didn’t like how Daniel wanted to conceal parts of himself but wanted her to give him everything. I did enjoy reading about these characters. 3.5*
When I "borrowed" this book via KU, I felt the blurb made it worth my time reading it. As it is, my reading time is valuable, and I hate wasting it on a poorly written book. Though I didn't see much of the usual grammatical problems, I was rather dissatisfied with the plot line.
The main characters – Daniel, Catherine, and Charlie – are trapped in the plot template of husband and son abandoned by the wife/mother who was sexually mature to produce a child but mentally so totally unprepared to be a mother. Charlie, the son, is acting out terribly. Enter Catherine who was a seasonal ski instructor at a local resort who immediately bonds with him. But a misunderstanding separates Daniel and Catherine. Daniel hunts her down, and somehow in the span of a small epilogue, everything is explained, including her unplanned pregnancy, and everyone kisses and makes up. The End.
Boring!...
Length and pace: I would call this a longer novella, not a novel. The pace in the beginning was fine, but the end was too much of a whirlwind finish. I found the entire "epilogue" as a massive deus ex machina, one I wished the author didn't resort to. Also, her using the epilogue to tie of all the loose threads (as she did) was entirely an inappropriate use of an epilogue. Keep that in the standard structure of the novella BUT give me a clue how things went. Did Catherine finally agreed for their engagement to be announced? Did they get married? Boy or girl? Come on! That's the purpose of an epilogue. This is the first time I've ever seen this done. (Shakes the head...)
Characters: You know? If you asked me to describe Catherine and Daniel, I wouldn't be able to. I didn't seem to be all that sympathetic to anyone of them! Well, I didn't feel like bitch-slapping Charlie. That's a first. Usually I don't tolerate fools, idiots, and hypocrites well, but I do work well with problematic children. But even Charlie's character file was sadly lacking. It was as if Jamie Knight was having a difficult time deciding if Charlie should be acting like a rich, little brat now or a nicer, kinder version. I really didn't feel all that sympathetic towards Catherine or Daniel. These two were so wishy-washy, waffling all over the place. We are told by Daniel that he is a tough boss to work for, yet he comes across as being terribly sympathetic the moment he enters his home. It just didn't make sense. And Catherine comes across as the Child Whisperer... not. It's just not all that believable... any of these characters. I wish Knight has spent more time developing their profiles so that I would care about them... Oh! I forgot... This is just a novella, not a novel! Doesn't matter. Characters need to be realistic. I need to be sympathetic towards them. But it didn't happen this time.
Hero/Heroine interaction: Speaking about coming across in a believable fashion, these two... so TOTALLY uncharacteristic. It isn't even twelve hours into her new nanny job when Catherine loses her virginity to Daniel, and BOOM! She goes from being completely sexually inexperienced to being able to deep-throat without any discomfort or gagging? Now don't tell me she's been practicing with a cucumber until Mr. Right came along. If that was the case, she would have asked to be placed on some kind of effective birth control as a precaution! Somehow, I must have missed the part of the book where they actually had some meaningful conversation, or the author didn't sell me the fact that these two were sooo into each other that they have sex on Day One, going from cold to hot in just a few hours? Nope. Not buying that either. And the predictable ending where he explains everything, and everything is now righted? The problem is that the writer did not adequately develop these characters. Sad, but it could had been a better story of a novel length had she taken the time to work on it properly.
World-creation: I think we're in New York City... right? I could had been in Boston, too, but... Well, you can obviously see that I wasn't impressed at all with the location. So little time was spent on developing the background.
Continuity and editing: The progression was choppy, especially at the end. The more I think about it, the more I felt that the author should had been more aggravated with the time she wasted on this book. I mean, if I were writing it, I would want to make sure that it was all worth the effort, but it wasn't. As for editing, I found a lot of phrases missing keywords. Wrong words but spelled correctly (the problem with relying solely on a spellchecker for problems). I had this strong feeling that this book didn't get the proper research because the location, the house, the entire background were so superficial. I never got into my head what the main locales really looked like.
Realism: Terrible. As previously mentioned, everything was so superficial, it wasn't memorable. Normally I get agitated when a story takes on legalities as it sets up an air of aggravation with loss of control. That never happened here! Probably because I hadn't invested any of my interest in this story. I never found out if Catherine's baby was a girl or a boy. Did she have a successful delivery? Was Charlie happy with his new sibling? I never even heard boo about the prodigal wife. I mean, was Daniel even properly divorced? In his explanation, the no-name wife disappeared, probably in a puff of crack cocaine, and never came back. And then the writer suggests that she's staying away because she did't want to pay child support? HUH????? After all the talk about how filthy rich Daniel is, the wife is even more so? How could she, if we are to believe Daniel that she's an addict. How can an addict keep a job like that?? Way to weird and unrealistic.
I don't recommend wasting time on this book beyond the blurb which was more exciting than the book. I'm glad I didn't spend money on it. Thank you, KU!
Catherine and Daniel's story is steamy but fairly predictable. Familiar plot of billionaire single dad who's arrogant, controlling and dominant. Virgin girl and an unplanned baby. Guaranteed to make your Kindle sizzle. The book is short and easily read in one sitting. No cliffhanger and an HEA
Brilliant book great read strong characters Daniel a single father has his 6 yr old sons party at a ski resort but didn’t expect it to be so hard but the resort had given him someone to help out with the skiing that his sons friends couldn’t ski even though they could this party was to try make up with Charlie as he had been working longer and his sons mood had been getting worse. Catharine works at the ski resort and while helping with a child’s birthday party the dad Daniel seemed glad of the help. Catharine and Daniel where being flirty with each other but in a friendly way Catharine gets on well with his son so he asked her to become his nanny. Daniel can’t stop thinking about Catharine and rings the resort for her info. Catharine has been thinking about Daniels job offer but when the ski resort ring and let her go she takes the offer up. On her first day as nanny they sleep with each other they couldn’t deny the spark between them. Charlie was doing better with Catharine he was a different boy gone the moody tantrum boy to a happy one. They go skiing together Boxing Day but whilst there Catharine is spoken to by one of her old colleagues that was also let go by the resort she was saying that Daniel had got them all sacked as he rang up and complained about them. Catharine leaves thinking he got them sacked just so she could work for him just because he has the money to do that. Catharine finds out she is pregnant and is struggling to pick up the phone and tell Daniel but he shows up at her door and clears everything up about the sackings and how he didn’t do that to them it was the resort who had sacked them all just because he had asked for her details Catharine tells him the news and he couldn’t be happier he gets Catharine and a new baby
Daniel is a single father and is having his son's birthday party at the ski resort. Charlie is used to getting his way by throwing a fit however Catherine has a way of smoothing things over with him that stuns even Daniel. So much that Daniel offers her the nanny position with Charlie. At first she says she needs to think it over but when she loses her job she accepts his offer. Sparks fly between them right between them right from the start. Soon things went from professional to personal between them. When she learns that a co-worker is suing their former work for wrongful termination Catherine starts to question whether Daniel had something to do with her losing her job too. Will Daniel explain why he called the resort? What will Daniel do when Catherine tells him that she's pregnant?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
ONE SATISFYING ADVENTURE!!! Slip, sliding away! Jamie trips the trigger, lowers the hatches and plows a new path, rocking this baby into a tailspin with a shocking culmination. Carefully treading the trials and tribulations, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Riding roughshod through the mayhem, cornering the chaos and corralling the shenanigans, steadying the turmoil and soothing the distress, laying it out and watching 'em roll. The chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are original and realistic with qualities and depth that blend and balance transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it's easy to envision each detail as they play off one another perfectly. Awesome job Jamie, thanks for sharing this jewel with us.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BUNDLE OF JOY" Jamie Knight has written a hot steam Christmas Romance it was delightful read. Catherine is a sky instructor where she meets Daniel a billionaire hosting his son Charlie's birthday party he's a bit spoiled and definitely not well behaved he offers her a job as a Nanny after she loses her job bur she doesn't know anything about raising kids. Catherine and Charlie get closer and he starts to warm up to her she wonders if it was Daniel who caused to lose her job he can be very arrogant, dominating, and wants control there's definitely an attraction there. Daniel makes his feeling known when he pushes her up against the tree and takes her virginity cause a little surprise to come later a delightful little bundle of joy. I definitely recommend to get this fun Christmas Romance and enjoy.
Jamies books are always fun yes they are mummy porn but you know that is what she writes so should expect it. I must say however this was in bad need of a good edit but as I had a ARC copy this may have been corrected
Daniel is a single father who not only doesn't know the first thing about raising kids he really doesn't have the time so he does what a lot of fathers do he spoils his son Charlie This has led to him been a spoilt brat. Catherine id a ski instructor and she loses her job so Daniel offers her a job as nanny to Charlie (did he have something to do with losing her job) Charlie and her start to bonds and even her arrogant boss starts to grow on her enough that she gives him her V card and now there is a little bundle of joy in the way Can they have a future together You will have to read to see
It's always a pleasure to meet nlknew authors and this was another journey. Jamie Knight is a new author to me and I really enjoyed this book. It's was the blurb that caught my attention and I couldn't be more happy about it. Bundle of Joy is her latest release explores the lives of Catharine and Daniel. Catharine worked as a sky instructor at a sky resort. One day, she was given the task to look for some millionaire's kid and... Daniel worked like hell to keep his billions. He is a workaholic but his son his having a bad time dealing with it. When he sees Catharine... It was a sweet story with some hot stuff into the mix. It was sweet to see the interaction between the characters and it left me wanting to read more about this author. Is was a really good story that will melt your heart as well as your panties. Way to go Jamie. Great story. Can't wait to read more.
That’s what the writer calls it. I call it porn-poorly written, even more poorly edited, chock full of typos. And once again, we have a ‘curvy’ h. ‘Curvy’ being the apparent ‘polite’ choice for ‘fat’. Why so many writers feel the need to bring her weight/body type into what is billed as a ‘romance’ is beyond me. I read to the 40% point before reaching my porn/poor writing/fat girl saturation level, and deleting it from my kindle. If all this appeals to you, you have found it here. Otherwise, keep looking would be my advice.
Bundle of Joy.I enjoyed this book! It was different. I wasn't expecting such a sexy steamy story. But it was sweet and fast paced. The story moved swiftly and romantically and kept me interested. The characters were believable especially Charlie in his real child like tantrums. Just like rich children do to their parents. This was a good read! I might even finish the series. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
The Miracles Of A Ski Day: By Korkoi - This was an absolutely amazing love story, that has restored my faith in love, family and happily ever after. Jamie continues to amaze me with this beautiful storytelling talent, that makes you want to have the starring role in the story. This story should be made into a PG movie.
I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Daniel and Catherine meet at a 🎿 ski resort where he went to take his son Charlie for his birthday. Catherine's the hostess inside and outside. She has her friend Sally make a cake for Charlie and is a big hit with Daniel's son. She's so good with him Daniel asks her to be his nanny. Good short story.
To be honest I am not sure what to make out of this book, Catherine is a ski instructor who is a virgin and not 21, Daniel has a son who is a brat and throws tantrums, buts it’s ok because Catherine is the only one who can lure him in. This book is basically about a rich man who gets what he wants and a young girl who just goes along with it.
I loved this story. Wish it could have been longer and more developed. But a great, fast read. Love the authors writing style. It was a well written, compelling story that grabs the readers attention right from the start. It had so much heat it made me sweat. There was plenty of steam as well. needs a bit of editing, but still... LOVE MUST READ !!
Daniel is an accidental father to spoiled six year old Charlie. That’s because he’s an inattentive father. On a ski slope, he meets Catherine, who’s a VCard and inexperienced. She’s a ski instructor but becomes Daniels nanny with benefits.
Cute insta love story that was a bit cheesy at times with a 6 year old that definitely needed a loving nanny. There was the usual miscommunication that caused problems before the HEA. This was a fast read.
Nice and defintely steamy Christmas themed read. While neither the characters or the plot lead to any surprises, the book is well written and constructed and makes for an enjoyable and quick read. I really enjoyed this one.
A shorter hotter read! Catherine and Danial generate steam, chemistry and more add in a troubled kid and an unplanned pregnancy and an ex and you have a good mix.
Oh man, I had high hopes for this one but the book just fell flat. Not at all up to Ms Knight’s normal awesome reads. You should probably try it for yourself.
