In the next highly anticipated installment of J.R. Rain’s bestselling supernatural mystery series, Samantha Moon finds herself stranded on a distant planet of dragons . . . and confronted with a powerful demon hellbent on destroying worlds.
Samantha Moon spent the past thirteen years fighting the evil trying to consume her, but at least she knew where it lurked.
With the dark masters unleashed, her life has become one of constant vigilance and sleepless nights. One upside, though: she's on speaking terms with the sun again.
Allison's vision of a ticking supernatural time bomb wiping out civilization sends them racing out to the Arizona desert. After hastily gathering reinforcements, they confront the harbinger of the end times before it can strike.
When the dust settles, Sam finds herself in a desolate alien wasteland, her dragon friend mortally wounded beside her and no obvious way back to her world. Her body can withstand the upper-dimensional energies for only a few hours. She needs to find a way home as well as figure out how to stop Talos from dying.
J.R. Rain is the author of 110 novels and counting. He lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest, where he's hard at work on his next novel... and fighting off sparkly vampires.
It was, thankfully, a Good story. I did get bored about 35%. But once the fight got going and we learned about Talos home land it was good. Wonder if we are getting to the end of this story. The fight with Elizabeth.
What will happen? With Sam and the gang win? Will have to wait about 10 minutes while I download the next episode.
Samantha and family (Allison, Tammy and Anthony) are fighting demon with the help of Mindy (zombie), her parents and Talos (dragon). Can Samantha and the gang defeat the demon? Great story.
Samantha is out with Allison when Allison gets a vision. They head to see Mindy in Arizona. Allison discovers that Mindy is possessed by a demon. They remove it from Mindy. There is all out fight. While fighting the demon in Talo's body, the demon dealt the body a death blow. When Samantha wakes up, she is in Talo's dimension. She has to find a way home before she dies there. She finds out that if she leaves, Talo will die. Samantha is up to the challenges that are set-up against her, she will not lose her friend Talo. There is a danger that no one saw coming it will take everyone to stop it. This was a fast-paced really interesting story. You get absorbed right into the story. Love we go to see more of Talo and his home world. I highly recommend reading this book, if you haven't read this series, do so, will not regret it. This series is so unique. I can't wait for another Samantha Moon adventure.
I received an ARC copy of this book, this is my honest review and opinion.
Witches, demons, and dragons, oh my! I enjoyed this book. All family members were involved which was a good twist for the author. I felt that I was reading a video game. This would make a great game. The rules and action have already been laid out. I am not a gamer, but someone should make this book into a game.
I'm beginning to think this writer has a significant memory problem. They don't seem to be able to remember what they've written.
When I first started on this series, Samantha was distinctly described as fangless. But in the story that precedes this one, she's suddenly missing fangs that had not been previously mentioned. I will allow that perhaps she got some fangs in some of these short stories that aren't included in the box set (I have a problem with that too). Significant plot points, assuming they actually happened, occurring outside the main collection is problematic. From the readers of the box sets perspective, this is a continuity issue. But that's a note for previous installment. There are so many continuity errors that I can probably discuss one for every installment.
In this installment, Sam's son, Anthony is described as "not the biggest fifteen-year-old" and "the poor kid looks like he's twelve if you just look at his face." That's remarkable shrinkage. In previous installments he was over 6 ft tall and muscular while he was only in middle school. Now he's apparently experiencing some kind of Benjamin Button phenomenon.
That these instances of discontinuity happen in every novel in the series is extremely odd. I've never encountered anything like it. Any day now I expect Sam to become taller, Tammy to become blonde, and demons to be handsome. Literally anything can change at any time with neither reason nor rhyme.
OMG 😳!!!! Best book yet….. Samantha is out with Allison when Allison gets a vision. They head to see Mindy in Arizona. Allison discovers that Mindy is possessed by a demon. Allison, Milli, Sam, Tammy, Anthony and Art remove it from Mindy. While fighting the demon in Talo's body, the demon dealt the body a death blow. When Samantha wakes up, she is in Talo's dimension. She has to find a way home before she dies there. She finds out that if she leaves, Talo will die.Sam will not leave until she helps Talos, their connection is Epic,,, but there is a danger that no one saw coming it will take everyone to stop it.
I highly recommend reading this book, if you haven't read this series, do so, will not regret it. This series is so unique. And KU is great, because I get to read book after book for free for under $10 a month…..
This story went on and on and on about her fighting with dragons on another plane level it just got so redundant. I kept waiting for something interesting To happen. Finally when she got And interacted with her family and friends the story Interesting. The humor between The mom and children and her best friend is a riot and I find that so much more interesting they going on and on and on about the dragons story. I kept waiting for something to happen Other than the dragons. It seems the author is running out of gas on. I wish she would write a story that is centered around her boyfriend Knight of
I love this series, I love Samantha Moon, I love most of the characters, especially Talos. I hated this book; it was excruciatingly boring. I was so excited to see book number 19, and reading virtually every page, was disappointing and painful. Everything is tragic and nothing is funny. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the book description tells you about it. Imagine the Wizard of Oz movie with no music, know silly characters, and it never changes into color.
Another will written vampire haunting adventure thriller novel by J. R. Rain ☔ Samantha Moon 🌙 Vampire for Hire Series book eighteen. Samantha travels to Arizona to combat demons and travels to another dimension too continue the fight against dragons and demons. They win and return to Arizona and family. I would recommend this series and author to 👍readers of fantasy mysteries. Enjoy the adventure of reading. 2022 👒😢⌚
Dragons ... need I say more :-) This is the kind of story I have come to expect from Samantha Moon but this time we meet the real Talos and learn of his world. It was an interesting read which avoided the 'let me get first time readers caught up' until the final pages. Easy and entertaining read that moves Sam's story forward.
As usual I do enjoy this series. This one was a little far out for my taste however I am beginning to think that this series has gone just about as far as far as it can. I think it should go back to The private investigator angle or being it to an end. No more other Would dimensions.
So happy for the resident zombie. Samantha and Allison have another battle in their hands now that the demons are temporarily thwarted. The children 17 and 25 are getting so comfortable with their powers it is not a wonder that help can be found! New dimensions are seen here too!
Samantha’s best friend Allison has a vision of Mindy from the last book and they rush off to thwart a potential apocalypse and end up fighting demons! While Samantha is flying as Talos she finds herself thrust into another dimension of dragons and races to get home while trying to save Talos’s life! Loved every bit of this one’!!!
....Thanks to Audible. I enjoyed the story arc tremendously. A little cheesy and corny here and there but I can't complain. Set not you run-of-the-mill vampire/werewolf series. Would recommend!!
Sam involuntarily visits Talos dimension when his projection I to Sam's dimension is killed.Much adventure ensues. I won't tell you about the zombie apocalypse that got them there.
Even though I am returning from books further along the Sam Moon timeline, therefore taking away a bit of the anticipation in death defying events, I continue to enjoy the confidence of the characters and mannerisms.
Sam goes to the fourth dimension with Talos after the battle with the demon in the previous book. She has many adventures, puzzles, and fight scenes before she returns to earth. Much better than the previous book.
Wow, Sam definitely got lost. How she took care of business with the current demon was disgusting but totally awesome. I really enjoyed Talos' world it was the bomb!
I love the way J. R. Rain writes these Samantha Moon stories. It is such a treat to find someone writing about everyday struggles with a touch of the weird.
Since Sam feeds on energy now instead of blood her whole life has changed back to the way it was before. Except for the immortal thing and that she now has magic. And her kids and everyone else are older, while she still looks the same. But she can go to the beach!
When her friend Alison has a vision that sends them to Phoenix to battle a demon, Sam ends up trapped in Talos’s 4th dimension. Fantastic final battle with a bittersweet ending and heartwarming finish.
Fave scenes: Sam handling the beach dude, Sam talking to the dragon on the book, Sam killing the dragon demon and Sam & Talos reconnection.
I have long been a fan of Samantha Moon. This installment only further cemented my dedication. J.R. Rain is a masterful storyteller. When you add Matthew S. Cox it’s like hitting the winning home run for the World Series Championship.
I’ve always wanted to know the story behind Talos and Sam and I promise you it’s exciting. How exciting would it be to be a creator? All fans of this series will love this book.

I started reading this series years ago and forgot how much fun they are! I was gifted this ebook by the author for my unbiased review and was thrust back into "her world ", which has taken a wrong turn. I must have missed a few books in the series but it did not impact this story at all. I still felt enjoyable reading about this new dragon world and will now go back and catch up.
My only problem with this book is that it’s finished! Love this series! I could read this every day! Samantha is an amazing character, such depth and with her devotion to her kids just adds to the whole thing! I can’t wait until the next installment
I loved this next installment in the Samantha Moon series. I love getting more of Talos' background and the whole Dragon story. I was near to tears several times in this story. I can't wait for the next book!
What a wonderful adventure and series! Can't wait till the next book. I hope this series never ends. The writing is great and characters are so vivid and strong. I feel like I'm right there in their world. So, until next time, see ya.
