Angie Kent won hearts and friends when she partnered with best friend Yvie Jones to commentate from the couch as we watched them watching TV on GOGGLEBOX. Then Angie proved a stalwart on the 2019 season of I'M A CELEBRITY ... GET ME OUT OF HERE! And THEN she became the new Bachelorette. It's clear Australia can't get enough of Angie - and now she's going to give us some of her quirky, funny, warm-hearted wisdom on life, love and everything in between, in the form of a book.
With no holds barred - just as you'd expect - Angie talks about her challenges with mental health and body image; her family and friends; what has and hasn't worked in her relationships, and what she has learned - the hard way - about life. There are plenty of laughs, and some tears, and always plenty of heart.
Angie's is the voice of your imaginary best friend - the one who always has your back, and who knows just what to say because she's been there before.
Too choppy and didn’t flow well at all! It felt like she walked into a new thought and would go on a tangent only to forget what she was originally talking about.
Reading this felt like a conversation with Angie, like I could hear her speaking all these weirdo words of wisdom. I would have loved for more depth in the chapters but it was certainly an engaging, interesting and thoughtful read.
Considering Angie’s whole television personality as the bubbly pocket rocket that just loves a good time, I really didn’t expect this to be as deep as it was. Shame on me.
I read the whole thing in just a few hours, and I loved every bit of it. Angie is such a great gal, a true example of positivity and resilience. The world needs more Angie’s out there making people laugh and making people feel good about themselves.
Fun fun fun, but with a serious side too. It was nice to see Angie open up in this way with her book.

This was a fun read.
I had seen Angie Kent on Gogglebox, so I was interested in reading about what goes on in her life when the cameras are gone.
Reading this book was like having a conversation with your friends. After reading this book I feel that Angie is a funny, witty and unique character.
I believe that this book would really benefit young girls. As Angie talks about love, life, mental health and various social situations, knowing that someone has been through similar things before could be really helpful for young women.
Angie has done a great job with this book, and I truly believe there is a lot for readers to take away from it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know who Angie is, after reading this book you will feel like she is one of your best friends.
Everyone deserves to have an Angie Kent in their life; even if it is only in book form.
If You Don’t Laugh You’ll Cry by Angie Kent is out now.
This was so self indulgent. Maybe a young teenage girl would like it but the writing style was very childish. Interupting herself in her own writing was bizarre. It was more like she was chatting after having a few drinks with some Gogglebox fans who had also had a few or more drinks and were simply nodding their heads as she goes on and on. No substance at all.
I loved Angie on Gogglebox and Bachelorette. I was really hoping that her book would be funny and engaging but it fell flat for me. I found it repetitive, particularly the continued references to the man she lost, her itinerant years and her weight. However, in saying that, she really exposes herself in this book with raw honesty and self deprecation. Angie says upfront in her opening lines that the book is written by her and is just her "own personal thoughts, opinions and experiences blurted out in text for...". This is a pretty accurate description, it reads like it hasn't had any editing or proof reading.
I'm not sure who this book is written for, as the language and story-telling is suitable for a child (8-12 years), however the content is mature. The structure and flow is also difficult to follow. It seems as though Angie sat down one afternoon to vomit up whatever she thought was meaningful in her life. On page 171 Angie says "I could sit here for days and ramble on..."; don't worry Angie, you did.
This was very authenticity Angie, but not enough substance to get more stars. She hints about her rough childhood and hard times but really only skims the surface.
Best chapters were about her teen years and body image. Those parts will be really helpful for younger fans to read.
What a fun read from the woman who made the Bachelorette a not-so-guilty pleasure to watch.
This is a light read, but chock full of deep nuggets of wisdom and advice. The chapters are short and sweet, and the prose is full of colloquialisms; yet I was engrossed by the energy in Angie's words. Throughout the book the reoccurring message was of love and kindness (to others, and - also very importantly, to oneself). She opens up about some rather serious health and mental health issues, the pain of losing dear ones and how she has come to love and look after herself.
An uplifting book, that managed to make me chuckle on one page and tear up the next.
"EACH TO THEIR OWN" that's how to describe everyone's reviews of Angie's autobiography.
Reality star, Angie Kent has successfully transitioned platforms from the screen, to socials to now her own autobiography! It is authentically Angie and you can imagine her sitting on her gogglebox couch (with or without Yvie, depending on which chapters you read, haha) telling you how see she's the world as you read.
Let's be honest, the book is not that long. It's less then 200 pages when you take out all the photoshoot images of her but let's remember; Angie's only 30! She still has a lot of living to do to smash out an epic novel of her life. Her life is like 20-something goals. I wish I was as adventurous as her!
Angie's book deserves to be handed out to teenage girls during health class as she gives practical lessons on love, life, mental health, body issues, dogs and more. This book could be really helpful for young women.
Quick read, light read, buy it and help boost Angie's career. EACH TO THEIR OWN.

Synopsis: Australia's reality-show sweetheart Angie Kent gives her wise, witty and unique views on life, love and the things that matter from either side of the TV screen. 🌹 With no holds barred - just as you'd expect - Angie talks about her challenges with mental health and body image; her family and friends; what has and hasn't worked in her relationships, and what she has learned - the hard way - about life. There are plenty of laughs, and some tears, and always plenty of heart.
This was such a great insight into Angie’s life, showing a greatly different side to her than we’ve seen on television. Well written in a way that Angie’s voice still carries through, I just wish that it had managed to go into a bit more depth on certain issues. However I fully understand why this might not have been the case ❤️. Easy to read and perfect to get you through isolation!
While an insight into others lives is always good with me I found this book more along the lines of a self help book then any kind of biography. I didnt feel like there was any real detail or depth and a lot of things were glossed over. Not a lot was spoken about her time on Gogglebox, I'm a Celebrity and the book ends before she starts the Bachelorette which a good section of her fan base would want to know about. The writing style felt forced and not like she was talking like the way we have become accustomed to on the TV.
I was looking forward to reading this book as I have enjoyed Angie's personality and have followed her reality TV journey from the Gogglebox days. But I found it pretty disappointing. It wasn't what I was expecting at all and felt more like a rambling diary entry. Filled with cliches, and super scattered... it was very hard to follow and continue to read (and finish). Angie says upfront in her opening lines that the book is written by her and is just her "own personal thoughts, opinions and experiences blurted out in text form". This is accurate.
It certainly made me laugh. Proudly pronouncing herself a simpleton and deserving of the 'upmost' from a man, Angie has revealed more of herself than I think she intended.
My Angie bubble has been burst by her unintentional hypocrisy and contradictions and the endless almost identical portraits.
I think whoever gave the green light to this book should be ashamed that they have let it go ahead, setting up Angie for some more hard lessons in life.
A raw and honestly engaging read. As Angie navigates her personal journey with humour and a clever wit, it is easy to become drawn into her world of amusing antidotes that allow the reader to both laugh and cry alongside her. This unique Australian is both optimistic and sensitive as she maneuvers her way through life at a sometimes-faster pace than she would always enjoy. Her life lessons are inspiring and sometimes thought-provoking, but always entertaining. Recommended.
A very difficult read and not because of the content. Too much rambling and chopping and changing of stories. It doesn’t seem to have been edited because it does not flow. I pushed through and finished it. Angie seems a nice girl but not a writer.
A quick read and overall I'd say I enjoyed it, but there were parts that bothered me. The repetitive language and stories, and the idea that her experiences are super relatable didn't work for me. Maybe it was rushed?
I hoped the book would be funny and engaging but it fell flat. I found it repetitive and was written in very short sentences, which made for difficult reading. However, she really exposes herself in this book with rawness and honesty.
I loved this book! Angie is good at making people laugh and that shone bright throughout her book. She is such a lovable, goofy, beautiful and authentic Australian woman, and her book was unputdownable.
It was an easy read, perfect for hanging out by the pool. She is such a positive and gorgeous person, I definitely felt better after reading this. I read it in one afternoon.
Not really much substance with a huge heaping of dubious life and medical advice that makes me wonder if she gets kickbacks from the naturopath industry.
