Will Love Win Out?

Jax is trying to improve his image since he’s launching a solo album. His publicist thinks he needs a little push for his image since it was tarnished from living the rock star life. Heading back home Jax is showing the crew around and he runs into Emma in the parking lot of the school. She became a music teacher because she loved music so much.

The publicist noted the pictures that were taken and seen something in the way Jax and Emma look together. So a plan is formed and since Jax won’t lie to Emma she knew what she was in for and she knew she would have to guard her heart. The deal is that Jax and Emma marry for one year and after that one year she gets a big payout. Emma has always had a crush on Jax and she knew her heart was on the line. Would it be too late for Jax to realize just what he really could be missing out on and will his past be too much for Emma to handle?

This book is a love story that has its laugh out loud moments and grabbing some tissues for others.

Jax is a Rock Star who has come back to his home town to try and recreate his image to something good for his solo album. Jax saw Emma at the high school while he was showing his crew the town. There were pictures taken and his publicist saw them and liked what she saw and come up with a plan to repair his reputation. The plan was a fake marriage between them. Jax did not like this plan but said he would talk to Emma about it. Emma thought about it after they talked and said yes. Emma holds back her feelings for Jax because she knows that it will end and she don't want to get hurt, but the more time she spends with him the more she falls for him. Jax knows that he wants Emma and only her but he has to go slow. Emma deceides to tell Jax how she feels and to see if he feels the same way. He does and tells her that he loves her, they go back to their room and when they get there a woman from Jax's past is waiting for him. Emma get hurts by this and tells Jax she can't do this anymore that he needs someone who can be there for him and not let his past get in the way. She leaves and goes back home.

I've read "fake marriage with rockstar" before but this was well written EXCEPT he would never have left a concert a few hours before it started. It seemed to hurry the ending which was not cool. Emma ran away and that is my least favorite way of having angst in a story....so immature, so defeatist. So with three stars I'm telling you it's not horrible but could of been a bit better.

The cover model will forever be my Jax(Jeremy). HEA

This is one great love story about Emma a music teacher and a famous rock star, Jax/Jeremy. Zoe was a serious child who fell in love with music and became a teacher buts finds her current life uneventful. Jax returns to his hometown in Arizona with a film crew and ends up walking into Emma in the school parking lot seeing one another for the 1st time in 10 years. Emma was a shy girl in high school and never had the courage to let Jeremy know she had a crush on him but she’ll always cherish the time she did spend with him, especially while helping him write a song. Jax’s publicist believes he needs to romance Emma and fake marry her to get Jax to the next level in the public’s eyes. Jax will not lie to Emma and once these two talk about the plans Jax gets Emma to agree to a 1 year marriage with a big payoff at the end. Emma quits her job, gets engaged, married all in a week then starts a year long tour with Jax and over time she can’t help but fall in love with Jax even after she puts up roadblocks to protect her heart! These two learn to write beautiful songs together while on tour and learn a lot about themselves along the way. Jax has never been in love and has a hard time admitting he is in love with Emma and once it gets to be too much for Emma she walks away and returns home broken-hearted and miserable. After some time Emma reaches out to Jax and they have a quick call that wakes Jax up! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this book. The writing style is absorbing and the characters likeable, especially Jeremy/Jax. It was refreshing not to have too much angst or over-blown misunderstandings. I would have liked a longer epilogue though. My other quibble is the drama near the end, it didn't sit as comfortably with me. Jeremy had been open & honest and had done nothing to instil any doubt in Emma. I understand her insecurities but I would have liked her to have gone to him and shown the same loyalty and devotion. But you can't beat a happy ending! I will happily read more by this author. 4 stars.

Well, I do not really understand the title but the story was ok, even if I was wondering why Emma overreact everytime, but maybe I am not so much into Drama Queens....

Prima di tutto non mi é affatto chiaro il titolo, considerato che non ha niente a che vedere con la storia, inoltre Emma esagera ogni volta e credo che le Drama Queen non siano proprio le mie preferite...

Hero steals the show

The absolute best part of this book is the hero, rock star and (very recently) reformed bad boy, Jax/Jeremy. When Jeremy pursued a career as a musician after high school, he let fame get to his head and enjoyed all of the benefits that come with that lifestyle. Now that time has passed, he’s getting out of touch with his fans as they age and mature. When he runs into the shy girl he knew and befriended back in school, Emma, his manager sees a perfect opportunity to rehab his image with a temporary marriage. As these two begin to play their roles, fact blends with fiction and everything they tell the world they love about each other rings true. But Emma’s not sure she can trust that this former playboy has truly changed his ways.

The writing in this is great - there are plenty of light moments with sizzling chemistry and banter, but there is also an emotional connection between them that leads to some touching moments. I loved Jeremy - his feelings for Emma just grew and grew; it’s really her insecurities that get in their way. The story moves quickly and the only time it stumbled for me was the fallout from the final fight, but there has to be some drama in there somewhere. All in all, it’s definitely worth a read and a good example of the fake romance trope we all know and love. I received a free copy via Booksprout - then purchased this for my collection - in exchange for an honest review.

Emma Changes More Than His Bad Boy Image ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What would you give up for your high school crush turned rockstar?? Emma loves music but can't sing so she teaches music to teens. Living life in a small town in a relationship that's going nowhere and ready to end it. When a chance meeting with Jeremy "Jax" brings a chance of finally having the courage to kiss him, she gets a lot more than that. Jax has gone solo with his own label but the damage to his reputation from his early partying days are catching up to him. Now trying to reform his reputation to keep up with his maturing fans, his agent forms a plan. A fake marriage to his former hometown friend. What could go wrong??? Where does fake end and real begin?? Emma fights her feelings knowing there is an expiration date on their marriage and doesn't know if she'll survive. Jax is falling for Emma but makes the mistake of thinking she knows how he feels. Just when they are on the same page someone from his past shows up unexpected and uninvited and Emma's life crumbles along with Jax's. Can Jax prove his feelings are real and get a chance to prove it?? Will Emma look beyond the past and really see Jax for the man he is now??? You must read this heartfelt story and watch Jax and Emma become the each others half. Loved It!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Bad Boy Update and definitely purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward for more from Annie J. Rose!!!

I am an avid reader. To have read Ms. Annie Rose's latest release is a gift that is almost unexplainable. I try extremely hard never to give away any part of the plot, because I do not want to ruin it for reader's, that being said... Here it goes.

Sometimes a fictional story can move you. Filthy Mistake by Ms. Rose is such a book. To follow along as Jeremy, aka Jax, and Emma find themselves their happily ever after is an amazing journey. They knew each other in high school, however, were only friends. When the infamous Jax Henshaw returns to his home town; he runs right into an old friend and sparks could ignite between them. Emma, hasn't seen him in so many years, but she would recognize her old crush anywhere. His charisma is just as appealing as ever & as these old friends grow closer, so do their feelings. He is painfully honest from the get go & she is cautious. Together, they are perfection but can she let her guard down for the one man that can break her heart? Her husband? Oh yes, extremely well written romance, that is what this publication is.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Filthy Mistake (from Bad Boy Update) in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. If you love a splendidly crafted romance, please trust that this is the book for you.

A Must Read Release.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. A true love story with the highs and lows of any relationship. You have Jeremy the early days of his career as a rock star he has the groupies, the fans and every woman that love his music in love with him. As he mature and loses his spot as being the number one rock star his manager see something in him when he is around Emma a music teacher to put him out there to the fans. A fake engagement. The fans are believing its real and wanting to see how his life is going to play out. They have the chemistry and sparks that its not fake but real. Emma has to get over being insecure about him. Emma agrees to marry him for 1 year. She quits her job, marry Jeremy and goes on tour with him. She thinks he is just playing along to give the fans something to gossip about. Jeremy is trying to show her there is more to him then just a rock star, he really has feelings for her.
This was a great book. I really enjoyed getting to know Emma and Jeremy. Although I received an ARC of this book I also purchase the book for my reading pleasure again and again. Another great story Annie.

Chords of Emotion Destroyed by a Filthy Mistake

Annie Rose has skillfully crafted a hot, sweet love story filled with passionate scenes and tender moments as true love slowly emerges between friends. After 10 successful and riotous years of recording and touring with his band Slamming Doors, hot rock star Jax Henshaw is going solo. To launch his new career, his publicist wants to re-image the wild rocker into a mature, creative force, who is getting back to his musical roots. Returning to his hometown in Arizona for a photo shoot to craft the “new” Jax, the singer runs into, Emma Stanley, the high school music teacher who was the shy, younger musician who had hovered just outside of Jax’s high school world. When internet uploads of photos of Jax and Emma’s reunion spark interest in Jax’s possible new love interest, the publicist grabs the public interest to create a story of past love reigniting, despite the fact that Emma was not really part of the high school story. Agreeing to become the love interest and bride of the rock star, Emma begins the fictional relationship, struggling to protect her heart by hiding the fact that her love for Jax is real.

Simple, but moving.
Very beautiful romance, very well written, tender but at the same time strong by the will of the heroine not to fall in love with her husband, and her husband will, to respect this desire while denying his need for proximity, tenderness towards her.
Jax is a famous rocker who begins a solo career and returns to his hometown for a documentary and future promotion of his album. His reputation is rather bad and his PR, advises him to settle to be in connection with his public and less sex drug and rock n'roll.
He comes across Emma, a music teacher now in high school, who is a little bored and who had a crush on him and helped him write a song. Photographing during their meeting, the media associate them and a media plan is proposed to Jax by his team: he marries Emma for some time and in exchange, she travels with him and has a more adventurous life. After some hesitation, Emma agrees, but quickly understands that to keep her heart unscathed, she must protect herself, and the requests she asks to Jax, takes a lot on him, but he needs to agree so that Emma can trust him, despite his life .

This is about Jax (Rockstar)/Jeremy (Highschool crush) and Emma. Jax/Jeremy is the same person. While Jax is the Rockstar that decides to try to go solo, after wild nights and his publicist stating that something needs to change, he goes back home. Emma is a music teach in their hometown. She has always had a crush on Jax and would help him out whenever he needed it. She never told him anything as she was shy, but something awakens her too when she first sees him. Now Jax's publicist states that he needs to get her to agree to marry him in a fake marriage for the public to see that he has matured and become a soloist will be a good thing. Emma is willing to help even though she knows this is only temporary, but is she able to sustain the pressure of a rock star’s life? Could they make they really hold a fake marriage without turning into something more real than what either of them intended? Could they both hold back their true feelings? This was a sweet romantic story in where time is what truly brings happiness to those that deserve to be together.

Jax is a famous musician that is getting disconnecting to his music and fans. He returns to his hometown and runs into an old friend Emma and they reconnect. Emma is a music teacher and she asks if he'll come and talk to her class about what its like in the music business. He does and they continue hanging out and a picture of them together gets published in the tabloids. His publicist gets the idea that it would be perfect if they got married and he's fans could see a side of him that's a settle family man. However he doesn't want to use Emma that way so he ends up asking her if she would be interested in doing it for traveling around the world with him on tour. She agrees but things gets confused for her when her feelings get involved. Will Jax see that they can be a real thing and make their marriage real? Will Emma end up leaving because he won't give her what she needs?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Friends who turn into something more.

4.5 Stars (rounded up)

In Filthy Mistake we meet Jax who is a Rock Star. He was part of a band and has a certain reputation. Striking out on his solo career he’s looking to change his image. One of his PR ploys is to go back to his small town roots. While there he runs into Emma, an old childhood friend. They never crossed the friendship line even though Emma always had a huge crush on him and even helped him write his first real song.

Seeing each other again after such a long time they’re both surprised how comfortable they feel with one another. When Jax’s PR manager comes up with a crazy idea they agree to jump in but can they keep it just friends?

Obviously not! Prepare for some steam as they really hit it off, even when they try and deny their chemistry. You can’t help but fall in love with them.

ONE FANTASTIC EXPLORATION!!!
Awww, one tasty treat! One head spinning, jaw dropping, up against the wall, knock down, lights out. This is one emotional rollercoaster with so much heartache and hope it really pulls those heartstrings. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, ins and outs, along with a few glitches here and there make for one thrilling experience. It grabs your attention from the start and steals your heart in turn. You feel what the characters feel. All the drama, impossible odds, a little mystery and suspense increases steadily as the tension spirals while the plot thickens. This is one exciting, capitavting, pulse racing, heart pounding, smooth flowing, page turning bombshell. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. Graphically detailed and descriptive it's easy to picture each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Awesome job Annie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

“I can’t. I can’t do this.” That’s what Emma says to Jax before she walks away from their fake marriage.
This story is a really great one. It has every element that I like in a good read. The story line is solid. The characters are not only believable but endearing and well thought out in relation to the story.
While this is a love story the ending is not a given. There are twists and turns along the way. Finding “the one” can be difficult for some like Jax and Emma. There are laughs, tears, angst, and of course an HEA.
This was a wonderful ‘stay up a little late at night and fall asleep with a smile on my face’ kind of book. I loved it! It would have been a 7 out of 5 stars from me if there was such a thing. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.

OMG! This is my first book by Annie J. Rose. I would have said it was a total 5 star read, except for the abrupt-feeling ending. I also had slightly mixed emotions about the termination of their marriage. It felt a touch like manufactured angst, although it gave Emma a chance to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. I have not read such a truly romantic story in a long time. The love-making scenes were so well-written and beautiful. This will certainly not be my last book by Annie J. Rose. If I am being totally critical I would say the title "Filthy Mistake"is totally misleading. I don't have an alternative title, but this was a book too full of feelings to call it that. I am so happy to see Annie J. Rose has a backlog of books for me to read. Write faster Annie J. Rose!

I knew by the second chapter that I was going to love this story. Emma was an absolute delight from the beginning and I fell for Jax/Jeremy when he was walking around his hometown and describing it for his publicist, photographer, and et all. You could just tell that the town really meant something to him. I also liked the alternate POV that the author incorporated. This is one of my favorite ways to read a book since it gives the reader a chance to understand what both MCs are feeling.
The only thing I dislike about this book is the title. It is very misleading and does not reflect what a wonderful book this is.

A really interesting love story. Emma and Jeremy met as teenagers when she helped him write a song. Many years later, she is teaching music in high school and he is a famous singer who returns to his home town and they meet again. A complex relationship develops, including a “fake” marriage, and it takes a lot of time and experiences for them to realize that the “fake” marriage is hiding their love for each other. How it all plays out is enjoyable to read. Jeremy was a really likable and strong character – Emma was uncertain in the beginning, but gradually realized the value of their relationship and became a more engaging character. Love this! I received an ARC from Bad Boy Update and I'm so glad I got it! It's got bad boy rock start, the girl who helped him write his very first song, and a chance to be with the guy she has wanted for 10 years! Jax wants a solo career, but need to clean up his image. An unexpected trip to his home town puts him face to face with the girl he never forgot. She is shocked, and excited, to see him again and though it's been years there is a spark they can't deny...and neither can the cameras going off. He is need of an image boost and she needs to break out of her carefully controlled life. What starts out as a mutually beneficial arrangement quickly becomes real as feelings are involved and lines are crossed. Great story with plenty of drama and twists, I loved it!

This is the very best fake marriage plot book ever! The writing had great dialogue, with lots of humor between Emma, a high school music teacher in small-town Arizona, and Jeremy/Jax, a big-time rock star, who also graduated from the same high school as Emma. From their first reconnection in the school parking lot, it is no secret that Emma has been in love with Jeremy since she was a teenager. But she was a rule follower while Jeremy was an exciting, spontaneous bad boy. Now his PR person, Amy wants him to completely change his image by marrying Emma and take her on the worldwide tour he's starting in a couple weeks. I volunteered this review and recommend this book that I received as an ARC from Bad Boy Update.

Deliciously Romantic.
Lovely Music based romance between musician Jax/Jeremy and his high school friend (who had a secret crush on him)/music teacher, Emma. Jax has come home to Arizona to have publicity photos shot for his changeover to a solo artist. He runs into Emma and his PR convinces them to marry for a year while he goes on tour. They agree. You can imagine things aren’t easy but there is an HEA.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
I received this ARC from “Bad Boy Update” for my honest review so I’m leaving this for your consideration. Peace.

Emma was once the shy, studious, musician who had a crush on the front man of the band who rehearsed in the garage next door, Jeremy. Fast forward ten years later and Emma is now a music teacher who literally bumps into Jax ("Jeremy") a now famous musician and once lead singer in the band "Slamming Doors". Jeremy offers Emma a chance at excitement and spontaneity when he needs to re-brand his image to become a solo artist. Will Emma take the leap? I loved the characters and the story line, although done before, was done in a refreshing new way. I loved this book and could not put it down.

Another brilliant book by Annie J Rose. This is a beautiful well written romance.

Annie is a music teacher and her old school friend, Jeremy, visits the town to do some filming for his new video.

Jeremy proposed a fake marriage to help his music career, and give her the opportunity to travel the world, and live a little,

Annie realises she could quite easily fall for him, so to protect her heart says that they can only remain friends during the marriage and nothing more. A delightful story, about learning to trust each other and learning that romance and love are found in many ways.

Pretend becomes real!
As high school classmates, Emma had a crush on Jeremy, but he never knew. Now he comes back to his hometown to rehab his image. They run into each other after ten years in the school parking lot, and his publicist decides that his marrying her would be a terrific way of putting life back in his career. When she is offered a considerable sum at the end of one year, she decides to go along with the stunt. Interesting plot with great characters in this well written story.

Enjoyed the book hate the title

The title to this book is horrible. Do people think the word filthy sells? I got the book based on the synopsis. That said, the book was actually good. It was a entertaining read. Loved the storyline. Different and unique. Everything was going right then it stopped. Then it was six months later. Why have a great story then rush the ending?

All in all I do recommend this book. It was good fun finding each other and a heartbreaking story. Good news. It does have a happily ever after.
