I thought the only woman I ever loved died in a car crash... Until I found her ten years later--a miracle. Her memory is missing, but it doesn't matter. I’ve reclaimed her heart, and we're going to be married. But my enemies are gunning for her. They know what she means to me. Can I destroy them and protect her before it's too late?
"I'm a sucker for a tormented hero, and nobody writes one better than Nadia." -- J.S. Scott, New York Times Bestselling Author
Bilingual former management consultant Nadia Lee has lived in four different countries and enjoyed many adventures and excellent food around the globe. In the last eight years, she has kissed stingrays, got bitten by a shark, and petted tigers.
She shares an apartment overlooking a river and palm trees in Japan with her husband, winter white hamsters and an ever-widening pile of books. When she's not writing, she can be found digging through old Asian historical texts or planning another trip.
HOLY HELL! Mercy is the explosive conclusion to Tony & Ivy aka Iris aka Ivy's story, and it definitely made all the heartache better! Of course that's not to say that I didn't scream at my kindle more than once, because the brilliant Nadia Lee had immersed me so far in her world that I felt like these people could hear me to be honest. And just so we're clear, Mercy is the third & final book in this Trilogy, so YOU MUST READ Sins & Secrets FIRST & IN ORDER! All of the mystery surrounding Ivy aka Iris is revealed, and it's one huge twist to be honest. I had some of the pieces figured out, but nothing close to all of them because see the twists were all turned out, while the turns were all twisted up. That only left me with yelling things at Ivy & Tony, and dropping f-bombs! But oh what a journey it was, because FINALLY, some demons were laid to rest! Getting there was the frustrating part, which almost had me pulling out my hair, not to mention, suspicious of damn near everyone. PLUS, the ever present dark cloud of Mama Blackwood was there trying to make her presence known, and if you've read the previous books, you already know how well that was going. Anyway, I CANNOT think of a better Series/Trilogy to have Nadia Lee get fly on my radar with than this one, so don't just think about it, nope, ONE CLICK this right now, & if you haven't started it yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Mercy by Nadia Lee is the conclusion of Anthony and Ivy's story. Mercy picks up exactly where Secrets left off. Mama Blackwood is back in the picture- oohh shocker!! This is filled with extraordinary twists, turns , moving love story and the epic rollercoaster emotional powerhouse ride that brings the chemistry, passion, feels , steam, romance and love. Tony and Ivy's final installment read is beautiful and poignant, humorous and yet heartbreaking, sizzling and sweet. Ms. Lee delivers the finale with a powerhouse prose. I look forward to her next book.
I wanted to find out if the MCs ever learned how to have a healthy and honest relationship. The answer is: they tried but weren't good at it. They'd have a conversation about how they needed to be completely honest with one another and then in the next chapter one of them would keep a huge new secret from the other person. Needless to say, I was annoyed, frustrated, and ultimately apathetic about their problems. Also when one of them decided to come clean about something, the author would throw some ridiculously OTT drama at the MCs and then they had to deal with that problem. The slowness in which the "mystery" was deduced boggled the mind as well. I know that the author gave the reader many clues. However, it really shouldn't have taken a person who was able to earn billions of dollars to connect the dots between A and B.
I appreciated the dual povs and the complete safety of this story. There was absolutely no OP drama here. But unfortunately, the characters were one dimensional (the H's dad was just as ridiculous as the mother- I couldn't imagine parents like that), sex was used to smooth over too many problems, and both the MCs were just too emotionally juvenile to understand what they should take responsibility for and what ultimately wasn't their fault. Overall, this series was just OK. I think I'll stick with whatever clean story Nadia Lee writes next. I do enjoy her writing style but would like to not have to skip so much of it to avoid the smut. :)
I only have one question: Is Yuna's family part of a syndicate or whatever the equivalent is in Korea? Her family screams power, but also danger. I love it. I wouldn't mind reading a book about her and her family.
The story was written well enough, but there was no chemistry between the two main characters. And there was NOTHING that made me want root for them. I was more curious about the ending than I was invested in the characters. People have a writing style that I think stays pretty consistent, so overall, I have come to the conclusion that this author is not for me.
If you don't like rants, then don't fucking continue. Well...continue if you want, but don't go commenting about how I don't have to be negative if I don't like something. Well...you can say that shit if you want, but just know I don't give a shit.
***SPOILER ALERT!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!***
I had my whole rant in my mind, then got fucking interrupted because for some reason, people always want to talk to me. Now I don't remember. And what's here is a frustrated rambling, but I will come back and be more concise.
The 1st book was good. It was a perfect set up and ended in a way that made you want to see what would happen.
The second book was fucking pointless. Period. The entire book was Tony trying to keep Ivy from finding out who she was and that he knew almost the whole time because he thought she wouldn't love him anymore, and Ivy believing Sam when he said she was a murderer and not wanting to tell Tony because what if she was a horrible person before she lost her memory and then didn't love her anymore. It was just dumb because it dragged out for like 400 or however many pages. It was torture.
Then book three, you think you're about to get all these answers, and you do...after you go through chapters and chapters of wedding plans. And mentions thrown in there that there's a killer out there.
Caleb tried to rape Ivy 9 years ago. Tony stopped him and whooped his ass. Caleb was mad, LITERALLY because he wanted to rape Ivy and Tony wouldn't let him. So these three books were about his ass getting back at them for not being able to rape Ivy. Somehow, Margot let it slip that Ivy was performing in a concert. She didn't technically tell him to kill her, but somehow she knew he wanted to and told him so he could do it and Tony could suffer for the rest of his life. Sam was on his Dictaphone trying to figure out how to get Margot to invest. And as he's recording, there is an accident. And then you hear Caleb saying Margot sends her regards. How the hell did Caleb suddenly get on the recording clear enough in that heavy rain for his voice to be distinguished. We know Sam used the recording to blackmail Margot, because she just didn't want the social embarrassment. This author and all this embarrassment shit was just annoying. But that was the jist, and I see no reason for this shit to have stretched for 3 books. I want my $4 back.
The clues were laid out in a way that the reader got them all. The characters got most of them. Some stuff Ivy didn't know and some stuff Tony didn't know. But the characters came across as stupid and naive throughout the entire story. Especially Ivy's ass. I mean I get that you lost your memory, but your shit is intact from the moment you woke up in the hospital. You've traveled the world for years by yourself. Why are you so simple? The author making it seem like it's because of her amnesia and the "embarrassment" and "humiliation" about not remembering was disingenuous. None of the new information she got made her any more cautious. Sam lied to you about your entire identity, telling you that you were his dead niece or distant cousin or whatever the fuck. Yet you would still go back to things he said and believe them and base your actions on those things being true. It was just idiotic and frustrating.
Tony did that dumb shit too. Like when Byron called Tony to tell him he found Marty hiding in Julie's closet. Tony's stupid ass wondered if the guy was a peeping Tom. Like...all this shit that's going on, the knowledge that Sam was involved somehow in Ivy "dying" 9 years ago, because he kept her hidden, and you think Marty is hiding in Julies closet so he can watch her undress. That was dumb. Then, when he gets to Julies, Tony asks Byron what he was doing there. And the answer was that Byron and Julie's mother wanted him to bring by her special gluten-free, sugar-free pancake mix so Julie can lose weight before Tony and Ivy's wedding. Then they have a short conversation about pancakes. The only reason that conversation happened is because the readers wanted to know what Byron would have been doing in Julie's apartment to find Marty there. And the author came up with some bullshit. AND that was the only way they were going to get the information out of Marty about Jill's death and find out what we already knew - that HE orchestrated the mugging so he could get access to Tony and Ivy's house to look for that music box.
Ivy annoyed the hell out of me. She seemed like such a damsel in distress. The author tried to make her seem strong and independent, but it didn't translate at all in her actions. And the excuse would always be her insecurity about her amnesia. The insecurity and her being embarrassed or feeling humiliated or thinking everything would be weird was NOT endearing at all.
The only thing I could say gave me satisfaction was when Ivy cussed Margot's ass out and slapped the shit out her!
I'm done. Anything else is in my notes and highlights. I have the opposite of book hangover and need to find something to make up for this. Goodnight.
Well, I made it through to the end. This trilogy was painfully paced. But the fact that I pushed through to the end says something about this story and writing.
Nadia Lee writes a developed and fleshed out storyline, and yet there are still glaring plotholes. Some integral pieces come into play but don't fully play out. But I do think she's a good writer, technically.
Also, these characters are odd. They are a bit unnatural. There's something missing about them that kept me from truly connecting with them. It could also stem from my frustration with their naiveté or because they were illogical or dull witted a lot of the time. They questioned all the wrong things. And their bodyguard Bobbi was only a step above useless. #whenyouhavetosavethebodyguard. I had to take breaks while reading all three books when the eye rolling started.
Still, their story was good enough to come back for more. Tony and Ivy finally get some answers and their HEA!
One story stretched across 3 books. I enjoyed the story, but would have loved the 1 book version (without the redundancy, multiple meals with unnecessary food descriptions and other unnecessary fluff).
As secrets are revealed, the relationship of Tony and Ivy grows stronger. The danger Tony always feared is real and he will do anything to protect his Ivy. He will even walk into the “Lion’s Den” and confront his mother, “Mommy Dearest”, on her home turf in Louisiana. (That woman could easily win “Worst Book Mother Ever”.) Ivy has to have faith and strength in the love Tony and her share. Tony has to finally find in himself the ability to forgive himself. Tony has to get past his ugly past, so he can have the future he deserves with Ivy.
Seriously now. How many times is she going to meet with someone behind Tony's back?! It's getting old. The first time she tried to drown herself. The second time she left Tony. Ugh. Instead of blaming themselves for things out of their control, they (she) should try taking responsibility for believing everyone else over Tony.
I think I just got tapped out on this couple about mid-way through this book. I lost interest in the story and started picking on their character flaws because they get repeated over and over without fail. ("The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." ~Probably not Albert Einstein)
So, the mystery of her accident comes to light, obviously. And the couple gets their HEA, thank goodness. But it was waaaaay too long coming for me. I finished the book, but I was really ready to stop shortly after it started.
The end of this trilogy was kinda frustratingly unticlimacteric!
Firstly this was written as a suspense/crime novel mostly...the romantic part of the plot was resolved way in the first book...that’s done.
Secondly it was soooo long. I mean, you could have done the whole thing in your me book and disposed of all the extra padding!
Thirdly and most important for me: every person reading kinda guessed the villain by the middle of the first book! By the second you can guess how it happened and your just waiting for all the unsuspecting characters to put everything together! If an author of romantic novels wanted to branch out to suspense she should at least made things a little more mysterious!
Lastly, the ending killed for me. Justice was NOT served as far as I’m concerned. After 3 long books the author couldn’t write a good enough ending for me.
I won’t say don’t read it...but be prepared for a long ride.
This is the conclusion of the trilogy. I found it a bit too long, too slow and repetitive. The couple get back together pretty quickly but the enemy plot seemed drawn out. Some things were pretty obvious, Ivy not telling him things that were important was pretty annoying esp as it's become life threatening for her and those close to her. No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine. No cheating but during a brief split, she told the Hero things are over, another man kisses her, she doesn't encourage it and sets him straight after.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series and updates of previous characters in other series by the author.
HEA. Epilogue.

Tony and Ivy have been through so much pain and heartbreak to find their way back to each other but their journey is far from over. Outside forces are still trying to keep them apart and will stop at nothing to destroy their happiness.
The conclusion to Tony and Ivy’s story is full of twists and emotion. The love they shared was able to outlast separation, distance and loss and there is no doubting that they are soulmates who are so much stronger together than apart.
Mercy by Nadia Lee is the story of Anthony "Tony' and Ivy. Ivy and Tony had feelings but then he thought she had died. In addition there were issues with him and his family that added to the upset that was going on. But now Ivy is back and Tony wants her back. I enjoyed their story and this book.
In the final volume of this series Ivy finally knows who she is. She’s in more danger, however. Aunt Margo and her cousin Marty are looking for something they think she has. And an unknown person is trying to kill her.
Meanwhile, they’re planning a quick wedding and deciding how much to let his parents back into their lives.
As a sweet, if gratuitous side story, her friend’s uber wealthy parents come from Korea to be surrogate parents to Ivy.
The book wraps up the trilogy in a rather sudden conclusion considering the length of the books. The conclusion is happy and neatly tied up.
As a positive, this volume relies less on telling us about their insecurities over and over (and over) to get the story across.
This story is about what happens when grief, unforgiveness and greed all combine together. The story is intense and will keep you on the edge. Tony is my most favorite tragic hero. He’s a man who made a mistake as a child which has followed him for 18 years. Instead of the people who love him most protecting him, they reject him instead. Ivy is the love of his life and she goes through her own trials. Their journey takes so many forks, but they ultimately end up in the same place. Bravo to Nadia Lee for writing such an amazing trilogy!!
Ivy finally understood the reason behing Tony’s lie. They almost got hit by a car. That made her realize how danger the situation is. They reconciled and even plan their wedding with Yuna’s chaebol mother’s help. They found out the one trying to kill Ivy was Caleb, the boy who tried to rape her long time ago. Tony’s selfish mother still being the unremorseful devil. Tony saved Ivy by clean shot at Caleb and that made him traumatized again of the blood just like his sister Katherine’s death. He finally forgives himself, his father divorcing her mother and HEA.

Oh, the tale of Ivy and Tony had a wonderful ending, especially with the twists and turns that kept me engrossed in reading. Every time I finish a Nadia Lee book, I immediately want to know if the other characters have their own story. With this one finished, I am going to jump into Court's story. I can't wait to see if there are stories for Julie, Byron, Edgar, and others. I've been living with less than 4 hours sleep a night for over a week due to Nadia Lee. Thank you for the wonderful characters!
I’ve really enjoyed reading this 3 book series but, the last one left me slightly disappointed! The story has played out, however the climax was a bit disappointing. It was a bit like a wet fire work, fizz fizz pop! However it was a good story line and show cases the authors work.
It also goes with the other books but can be read as a stand a lone
Stay safe in doors in this worrying time and read a book 📖
I really like Nadia Lee’s books but this trilogy not that much... I believe this could be a great story told in 1 books...3 were 2 too many!!!! Repeating the same thing over and over again was like trying to feel pages with more words and nothing else... i read the entire thing because i just needed to know what happened at the end and be mad with myself for wasting my time.... I will go back to other Nadia’s books for sure, but this series i do not recommend. Sorry...
Each book was well written. Sins, Secrets and Mercy told a provocative story of revenge, tragic love and how dark the human heart can be when thwarted. I asked myself why three books and now I have my answer. The tragic events in the story (all three novels together) are like the erosion it took to create the Niagra Falls so too it took time to tell Ivy and Tony's story.
Loved the trio!! This was quite a trip, but I was happy to take it. The characters were well defined and fulfilled their part in this story. Anthony and Ivy were destined to meet and fall in love. I am not saying that it was an easy road and believe me it was not! But it was worth it!
I had to stop. The lets be completely honest with each other, then keep all the secrets and do the opposite of everything experience has taught us just killed me. I dont even care what happens, even though its pretty well spelled out for everyone except the characters who can't figure it out apparently.
This series was such an amazing story. I was so intrigued and lost in the story I felt like I was watching a movie. I couldn’t wait to find out how it turned out. Nadia Lee is such an amazing writer. This series really should be a movie it has everything to draw you in and love everything about it.
I love how Nadia develops the characters in these 3 boo ending. . And, after all of their toil and trouble, there is a happy ending. The read was worth every minute. P
I love how Nadia develops the characters in these 3 books. Many different stories are intertwined among the characters but, after all of their toil and trouble, there are happy endings.
This is probably the first trilogy I've read that actually was worth 3 books to read and get the story told. While some of this was predictable there was enough suspense to support the plot. I loved Tony and Ivy's story and only realized at the very end that I think I've already read Harry's story! I need more now!!
Honestly, I was really disappointed with this entire series. What was stretched across three books could’ve easily been told in one — and I genuinely believe if it had been condensed, it would’ve been much more impactful. The pacing dragged, and I found myself frustrated more often than not.
By the time I got to Mercy, I already felt disconnected and irritated from book one, which made it hard to enjoy anything that followed. While I did appreciate the ending and finally getting some answers, the outcome was predictable — I just kept reading to understand the “why” behind everything.
Maybe it worked for others, but personally, I couldn’t connect with it and really struggled to stay invested.
Once I started these books I couldn't put them down. Soooooo good. It has everything someone could ask for in a book. Love, lust, happiness and some kind of action. Highly recommended
From start to finish, this trilogy kept me captivated. Tony and Ivy’s story would make a wonderful intriguing mini-series. Oh and Yuni’s parents? Melted my heart! Read this series, you won’t regret it! Well done!
