He's big, he's mean, and he's going to be rough with me.

I hadn't seen Hoss Bishop since the day I stood him up, and I don't know what I expected to happen when I walked through his door, but I know what did happen. He blistered my bare backside with his belt and then rode me so hard I could barely stand when he was done with me.

Hoss is a brute, but my life is in danger and he's the one man I trust to protect me, so I'll have to take everything he gives me. He'll use me hard and often, but maybe that's just what I need...

Publisher's Note: Hoss includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Trigger Warning: "Rough" is the new Dub-Con + Non-Con = all euphemisms for Rape.

The H brutally punishes (including slut-shaming) the h for a long-ago event that was in no way her fault. Three-quarters of the book in, he finally realizes that she is, in fact, innocent of what he blamed her for. Does he apologize? No. Because you see that would be completely "undomly;" "real men" never say they're sorry; and it's so "hot" (I guess?) when men don't apologize. This is so not my kink, but in this author's world, that's love.

There will doubtless be many 4- and 5-star reviews for this book -- as usually happens with this author -- if the above doesn't bother you, I suggest you read those.

Finally, if you like this book, that is absolutely your prerogative, but please don't call this "BDSM." The BDSM community prides itself on practices that are either Safe, Sane, Consensual (SSC) or Risk-Aware Consensual Kink (RACK). Note that both terms include "consensual." When there's no consent (negotiations, limits, safewords) then there's no BDSM, and to so label a book such as this only stigmatizes a lifestyle that is already very misunderstood -- particularly in this case when Hoss does what NO dom should ever do: punish in anger! If there's anything that you love that you would hate to see described erroneously, please keep that in mind when using the term "BDSM," either for this or other books that do not include explicit consent.

ETA: As another reviewer very wisely mentioned, Hoss doesn't even ask Remi what happened the night he thinks she stood him up; thus, she feels "safe" with a man who automatically thinks the worst of her and doesn't trust her. So not my kink; YMMV.

Also of note: as of December 28, all the "likes" for the good reviews are from the author herself; the ones for the negative reviews are from other readers. Tells you something, doesn't it?

No redeeming qualities

If rape, abuse and sadistic treatment is your thing, this one is for you! It is the most offensive thing it’s been my displeasure to have read....well I tried to be fair and read, but it just made me too sick to finish

DNF This s was just plain boring and so unbelievably unrealistic it came across as though the author had no creative spark to progress the story from the MCs brief high school relationship to what happened 20 yes 20 years later. The h shows up On the H’s doorstep having had zero contact for 20 years and he starts spanking
her….The whole premise of why he started in n the spanking was totally ludicrous. He should have just said he’s spanking is my kink you wanna get it on? The girl must have taken a 1000 licks, no pun intended over the space of 8 hours. I’ve tried with this author twice and her male characters are just juvenile. Also I don’t care for the writing style… the plots not thought through…. And it comes across as silly not sexy🤪

Quick Summary
Hoss is an ex-military guy with a chip on his shoulder that he’s been carrying around for a long time. Dating back to his high school days and Remi Caulder. She was the pretty new girl in town and he was the boy from the wrong side of town. It never should have worked but they both instantly connected. Or so he thought. Until she stood him up at prom. Reeling from his hurt, Hoss acts out and has to face the consequences: a felony charge or enlisting. Hoss enlisted and buried his hurt, vowing to someday repay Remi Caulder for ruining his life.

Remi never cared what anyone thought about her and Hoss back then. They had made each other happy and that’s all that matter. She’s always regretted the way things ended between them. Her father, never having approved of Hoss, accepts a job overseas and doesn’t allow Remi any time to call or explain to Hoss, the night of prom. Instead, her father has her packed and moved out that same night. She makes an attempt to contact him once she’s settled but no one knows what happened to Hoss and the one time she spoke to Hoss’s father, he pretty much shut her down and hung up.

Fast forward 20 years later and Remi finds herself being framed for murder. With her father deceased, Remi has no one to fall back on. When her fight or flight instinct kicks in, she runs back to Hoss. Back to the only man she trusts to keep her safe. Except that Hoss isn’t the same boy she once knew. He remembers the events of 20 years ago much differently and he is definitely not ready to forgive and forget.

Rough is definitely the word I’d use to describe this story. Not so sure about the romance part though . . .

🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤
I wanted to give this story the benefit of the doubt but I found it really hard to continue reading when Hoss treated Remi with so much hate, disrespect and out right abuse. This brand of “rough” romance is more likely to give me nightmares than the warm fuzzy feelings I normally get when I read romance – no matter the sub-genre. Getting inside Hoss’s POV was too close to creepy entitled rape mentality for my taste.

Hoss sets out to punish Remi from the first moment he sets eyes on her. He cares more about exacting his pound of flesh from Remi then the very real threat of a killer out to silence her. Nothing about his behavior even hints at Hero material.

All this degradation over something Remi had no control over. FYI, she might have unintentionally stood him up back than but guess what? She was 15-16 years old and things are literally out of her control at this point. Hoss’s determination to punish her for things that happened when she was still a kid was crazy. I wish Remi had stuck to her guns and just bided her time to run.

Heat Level: 0/5 - this type of kink might work for some but definitely not for me. Since there was no talk of safe words, hard limits or consent freely given, this read like sexual abuse and rape. By the time Remi voices her (dubious) consent, it read like a severe case of Stockholm syndrome and not at all believable.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If ever a book deserved minus stars this is it. The author makes a feeble attempt to inject a plot in the book, but fails miserably, and we are presented with an unending series of "erotic" scenes in which the hero spanks, beats with a belt, and essentially rapes the heroine, but it's OK because it's "discipline" that she needs. Heroine is so stupid that she convinces herself that it's OK and actually comes to welcome the discipline. (Eye roll on my part!)

The author's writing leaves a lot to be desired and reads as if it were written by a freshman in high school.

Why did I bother finishing this book? I was fascinated at how bad it was -- every time I thought it couldn't get worse, it did.

Delta James is on my never buy again list.

2nd chance at love

Remington (Remi) Caulder, Morgan (Hoss) Bishop, meet in high school. They were suppose to go to the Prom. She was the Prom Queen, he had a promising football career. Life and fate got in the way with a change of plans.
Hoss went in the military, while Remi pursued a career as a chef.
So, Remi is in a cooking show competition where her friend dies, and she is the #1 suspect. Remi panics and heads for the one person who makes her feel safe. Hoss.
Okay, I really liked this book because it was a fast paced , busy with a lot of friend interactions, some sassiness, high jinx’s with consequences and finally love and some relationship angst. I would definitely recommend.

TRUST, FEAR, LOVE, LOSS, HOPE, AND BELIEF IN HIM

As a loyal reader of books by Ms. Delta James, I do want to caution other readers not familiar with her writings, that you need to read and heed the warning. “Publisher's Note: Hoss includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.” (This warning is true!)

The story is a second-chance between Morgan Bishop, commonly called Hoss, and Remington ‘Remi’ Caulder and will take place around twenty years later but has a set up of how they know each other. If you have issues with non-consensual, dubious consent, rough, intense, and extremely frequent sex scenes, then this story may not be a good choice. The story also contains plenty of harsh discipline, once again non-con and dub-con.

“Remi had been the one thing he ever truly loved, and now she was gone. Gone was the quiet boy who had been in love with Remi Caulder. What emerged was a battle-hardened warrior.”

EARLY YEARS: Remi’s life was thrown in turmoil the night of her prom that she was to attend with Morgan. Her father announces they are moving immediately, and she can’t get word to Morgan. Morgan feels like a fool stood up by Remi, and teased by the football quarterback, Steve. One punch, and now his world is turned upside down and he is entering the Army.

Fast forward to the present, and Remi is a chef and on an elimination televised show with a hefty prize and notoriety, along with other chefs. When her roommate is murdered and she appears as the guilty party, too many things don’t add up. But why are there threats against her to leave the show? Who can help her when the police see her as the prime suspect and don’t believe her? In a panic, she will leave Philadelphia and drive straight back to Texas to the one person she trusts, Morgan. But does she know how he has changed? Dominant is only the tip of the iceberg.

“Never dare me, Remi; not where getting my hands on you’re ass or your safety is concerned.”

The story is part murder-mystery, life and death suspense, second-chance romantic suspense, plenty of discipline and control, and rough sex make up the relationship between Morgan and Remi. When her life hangs in the balance, not only Morgan but his team, all former Rangers from his time in the military, are working on this case, trying to keep her safe. But things just don’t add up as to who could have committed the murder and how they are making it look as if Remi is guilty.

“As you say, it’s all a little too pat, a little too perfect. Murder and money are never this neat and tidy.”

What will happen between Morgan and Remi once this bizarre case is solved? Will they stopped living on what they think happened the night of the prom and discuss what truly happened? Can Morgan forgive Remi for what she couldn’t control? Will they admit to their feelings and move forward, or will they go their separate ways?

“This was not the first time he’d claimed her body, but this was so much more. This time he wasn’t just demanding her physical response. This time he was asking for her soul—and she was relinquishing it to his care.”

“You. Just you. Always you.”

men-in-uniform tag because he is retired military
non-con/taboo tag because it crossed the line into abuse several times.

I am a fan of the dubious consent and rougher sex, including the spanking....as pleasure and building relationship trust, Not punishment and to "bring her to heal" and get to straightened out. This story crossed the line into emotional abuse and a few times physical. Her body responded, but her brain was not on board to the way he was treating her all the time. 20 years was too long of a time span for them to have been apart, with no communication, for the way he acted during their first meeting. That was straight up rape, because she was saying no. It doesn't matter that she was "wet."

I'm rating it a 3 because if you do like that kind of degrading treatment then this is probably a great story for you. I liked parts of it, but I gave up at 72% because I was done with him completely taking over her life and "bringing her to heal." Total control is not my thing, bedroom control is.

It's definitely not for everyone, that is why I am bowing out.

Listened to audio narrated well by Jack Calihan.

Given the blurb I thought I was going to enjoy this book and was really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately this book did not work for me. It started off really well and then nose dived to the point where I didn't want to finish the story. I'd describe this more as dark erotica or kinky sex book, than BDSM.

We go from a well thought out, emotional scene of how Morgan deals with Remi standing him up for prom, and equally engaging scene of Remi's father ruining her big date, then the book jumps twenty years and takes this crazy sharp turn.

Morgan's is the big bad ex-Ranger returning to run his father's ranch, who still fantasizes about punishing Remi sexually.

Remi is a chef competing in a huge cooking show. Until her room mate and fellow competitor is murdered and all signs point to Remi, except she's receiving death threats. Remi flees to Texas after the second threat and on to Morgan's ranch, which seemed odd since she'd not seen or spoken to him in twenty years. I expected them to make up, have hot, rough sex and for Morgan to solve all her problems, while protecting and fucking her. So the make up didn't happen, he doesn't seem to care about anything but throwing her over his lap, spanking the crap out of her and having extremely rough, unprotected sex.

I had so many problems with this book, I repeat, I didn't want to finish it. Who has unprotected sex with someone they haven't seen in twenty years??? When Morgan takes Remi in, he threatens her, forces her to endure non-consensual spanking, and sex, claims he'll only protect her if she makes all her 'holes' available to him whenever and where ever he wants, and any time she objects to anything it's back to spanking and rough sex. If she had consented to this, this story may have worked but she clearly doesn't consent and her running away supports that. In addition, who would duck tape anyone they care about, much less put it on their mouth? Where is the care a dominant is suppose to have for his submissive?

Remi is TSTL, too stupid to live. From fleeing the state after being specifically told not to by the police, to racing away to escape those that are protecting her had my eyerolling over and over again.

If you just want a story with hard spankings, discipline, non-consensual sex scenes, forced orgasms, descriptor's like, gaping pussy, piece of tail and all your holes, this might be the book for you. But don't expect any sort of realism from how the detectives treated a crime scene, to actual BDSM or how these two behave after not seeing each other for twenty years or how he protects her, or the bad guys trying to frame Remi yet still trying to kill her with splashy helicopters, all of it pulled me right out of the story.

This book has spanking, bondage, figging, violent sex and various other kinky scenes but I would not qualify it as BDSM which explicitly requires consent. Many of these scenes are hallmarks of an abusive relationship, not from a BDSM relationship.

I received a free audio copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/

Hoss, aka Morgan never really got his first chance at a relationship with Remi due to having manipulative people in their lives. Add to that a lack of communication, and you end up with one party harboring hard feelings.

Remi was in a bind. The mystery of her roommate 's death along with death threats sent her way were hanging over her head. I thought it was interesting that the first person she thought to turn to was Morgan, especially after all of the years they as been separated.

I don't mind D/s and spanking books. This one bothered me because Morgan seemed to be acting out of anger and without Remi's consent. Eventually, there was consent by acceptance, then verbally, and Morgan's anger at Demi seemed to dissipate. I just felt like Remi hung around at first because she loved Morgan, she was afraid, felt safe with him, and didn't have another option. It also irritated me that Morgan NEVER asked Remi what happened all those years ago. I also didn't get a sense of the romance that usually appears in these books. I guess had gotten used to the whole "fated mate" concept in other books by the author.

If D/s, many, many spankings, and a few intense sexual experiences offend you or make you uncomfortable, you should take a pass on this book. Morgan, his team, and Remi managed to solve the mystery, while the couple declared their love, and reached their HEA.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.

*****AUDIOBOOK UPDATE APRIL 2020*****2 STARS
Reading the book and listening to it was very different for me. My initial review, when I read the ebook was higher. I think I focused more on the mystery than the treatment of Remi. With the audiobook, it felt like Remi's treatment was more "shoved in my face".

I have found this happens on occasion. I find my perspective about a book can change negatively if I have read the book first and than listened to the audio version or vice versa. Not with every book, maybe 5 or less. Sometimes the audio version makes a book seem much better. Other times, not so much.

I like most of Delta James' work. Overall, Hoss was not one of my likes. It was definitely a rough "romance".

Hoss was holding on to a years long grudge about something he thought Remi did when they were much younger. Not only did he not allow her to explain the circumstances, but he forced her into non consensual acts. He seemed to be of the mindset that as long as her body responded, it was ok.

The reality cooking show, the stalker, and the murder mystery storyline were intriguing. Hoss and Remi's relationship was not.

If intense non con sexual scenes, spanking, etc. offend you, take a pass on this one. I listened to the audio book and thought the narration was not bad at all.

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this audio book received from the author.

Without the "sex" it would have been 3.5 stars. This review TOTALLY contains spoilers. It allows you to skip the read and know who done it.
As it turns out current 'rough' is not my idea of 'rough' I am not a fan of the current kind.
The base of the story is a 'who done it'. That is the ONLY reason I finished this book. I almost gave up in I think chapter 4.
Remi is a chef on a cooking show and doing well until her roommate ends up murdered and she receives death threats. Realizing the police aren't going to do anything she runs to her teenage hometown and the boy that she had no choice but to stand up on his prom 20 years ago. He has held a lot of resentment over it and so when she shows up he beats her ass, takes her and won't allow her to leave. Yes her life is in danger but he held her against her will and to punish her he spanked her and stuck ginger in her 'bottom hole'. Then he called his friends in for backup and they encouraged him! As for the murder they send an assassin team in a helicopter which Hoss takes down with a lasso. The cops pay little attention to that. Then the other suspect is found dead with a suicide note admitting he did it. No one believes that they 'investigate' more. Okay they do a background check and find the sponsors for the show are broke and the CFO or CEO has a one way ticket to the UAE, they don't ask anyone anything. When Remi goes to the store so she can cook (the only food she has eaten in like 4 days) the shows producer shows up with a gun to kill her and confesses to helping the sponsor dude kill everyone. I knew she was guilty from the start, never totally figured out why though. Hoss saves her and they live happily ever after at his ranch where he teaches Veterans ranch work and she teaches them to cook.
The sex was not consensual on any level until nearly the end and even then some of it was she just gave up.

ONE HOT AND HEAVY JOURNEY!!!
Sensational! Delta not only blew the vault, she crashed the gate, blazing the field, securing the passage, knocking 'em out and ripping 'em up, throwing this gem into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, tossing it into a tailspin with stunning results. Divvying up incredibly, well rounded scenario's that punch dead center, ramping up the excitement and adrenaline, thrusting this gem to life brilliantly. Stumbling through the trials and tribulations, along with a bevy of sharp twists and sleek turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The chemistry sizzles from the pages, intense and all consuming, attraction and strong connection leads this high octane block buster to new heights. The characters are original and realistic with depth and qualities that blend and flow into amazing personalities. The scenes are so graphically detailed it paints an incredible backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job Delta, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

Roughly Mastered....

Holy Cow...this confirms that Delta James books are just too Hawt...
Yes this book is heavily into domestic disciplines with spankings (both hand and belt), roughness and non/con but Damn it was good....
Remington (Remi) and Morgan (Hoss) have history, due to fathers and other outside influences their relationship was stopped dead in its tracks but they never stopped thinking of each other until Remi is set up and framed for a murder she did not commit, and runs to the one man she ever felt safe with..
This story has action, drama, suspense and twists that keep the pages turning quickly and for me it was a def 5 star read...

There is a lot of sex in this book but there is also a mystery that the hero needs to solve while protecting the love of his life. Twenty years is a long time for someone to sustain a love for someone they haven’t seen in all that time but Hoss/Morgan and Rémi were soulmates and even though Morgan is a strict master, Rémi runs to him when she is involved in a murder and so begins the love affair. An enjoyable book with a puzzle to solve.

Sorry, this book was too rough

I can't even believe that Delta James wrote this book! I could not even finish this book, Hoss was a crude man with 0 appeal, this was not a love story, it was crass and bordered on rape, in reality she would of ended up in the hospital! Don't waste your time or money!

This story just didn't work for me. The murder and how the police investigated was no where near accurate. Than she drives to hoss which is fine but all she keeps saying is this was a mistake to come here and his constant remarks to sex in the middle of her saying it was a mistake was just wierd. It just missed the mark for me.

Exciting book!!

Full of action, suspense and mystery with plenty of twists and turns. A very sassy independent lady and a hot strong demanding dominate man makes this book even more exciting. Their chemistry is amazing and there are numerous hot steamy sexy parts throughout. A super great book to read!!

Bad ..

This book was horrible , it wasn't a ROUGH romance . It was Dracula and mental abuse by Hoss , why because he thought Demi did something that she didn't do.. She should have shot him and then went to the police. Hire she could have loved him and ended up with him after everything he did to her is just insane !!!!!!!! He could not have had a decent bone in his body . He was definitely a psychopath and his friends didn't even care when he talked about her like a piece of meat on the phone.. I will not be reading any more of this series

Good, but Read Warely

The fictional realm of domestic discipline fully comes to life as Hoss' intelligent, headstrong, independent woman disobeys one of his directives after another. The spankings apparently drive the couple into animalistic, sexual overdrive, all while trying to clear her name of a murder charge. Personally, I think getting boinked from behind after getting a severe butt blistering that raised whelts would be so painful as to kill any sexual urges. She gets lots of these, because she's not smart enough to heed his warnings. His long dong might have something to do with her fascination, though. Apparently, it's amazing! If you are looking for some descriptive words about sex, or even what else to call a vagina,, then this author is probably right up your alley. I read it all, but was put-off by a recent series on domestic abuse I watched, I think. Domestic discipline runs too close to the twisted edge of abuse for me.

The writing is good, but read at your own risk.

I struggled liking this book. It had good content and strong character build.

I read a lot of contemporary and erotic romance and this really had excessive sex scenes. If they were different it may of made a difference but they were repeated scenarios.

I don't like that right off the bat there was barely any communication or understanding that she was nothing but a set of orifices for this guy to screw at his will and leisure and she was just that, an object. There was no relationship building until about 60% of the way in which is when I started liking the book more.

I’m in two minds about this book, I’m uncomfortable with the total lack of negotiation at the beginning. As for the galloping on a horse whilst not wearing a bra my tits felt pain in sympathy.

For a man that supposedly enjoyed a local BDSM club I’m horrified at the way Hoss treats Remi he should know the difference between domination and abuse. What he did was abuse and any Dom worth the title should know the difference.

Ridiculous

Come on already. So ridiculous. .constant sex.and abuse are not even feasible. The story line was so weak was the woman. Also 20 years was too much. Ten would have been better and his stamina might have been a hair more believable. Ended up skipping a lot of the repetitious sex.

Get ready for some hot reading!

Before I begin - if you aren’t a fan of frequent spanking and rough alpha dominance then this book isn’t a safe read for you. BUT, if you are a fan of this - strap in and get ready for one wild and hit read!

Remi is competing on a cooking show, when she wakes up to find her friend/opponent dead, and the cops start looking at her as the prime suspect she does the only thing she can think of. She runs to the one man that ever made her feel safe, so that’s what she did.

Hoss has tried to get over Remi thru the years, being convinced she stood him up at senior prom - imagine his surprise when she shows up in the middle night, asking for his protection and help to clear her name. Hoss does what he promised himself, determined to teach Remi what happens to naughty girls...especially when they break a heart. But as things get heated between the two and Hoss sees that Remi is in more danger than she even knows, will his commanding presence and protection be good enough to keep her safe? And will they be able to let the love that was once growing between them fully bloom?

I enjoyed this story so much - Delta definitely had me losing sleep because I had to know what happened next. There are so many twists and turns to this action packed plot - along with the super hot scenes that left me fanning myself. I can’t wait to read the other guys’ stories that are on Hoss’s team. Delta has definitely gained a reader with this fantastic read

Blinkin nora, what can i say about this, but its hot, hot , hot. This was such a great book to read, i really liked Hoss, some people might not but thats ok. In my opinion theres nothing better than a hot Dominate man who knows what his lady needs. Going into the Army perhaps wasnt what Hoss really wanted to do at the start but he had no choice in the end. And after going into the Army he then joined the Rangers, and thats what made him.
Remington (Remi) and Morgan Bishop (Hoss) were seeing each other, prom night had come about but instead of them both going to Prom night they missed it which was a catalyst for Hoss.
Years later Remi loves to cook has joined a tv contest for the best Cook, howver one of the other contestants sharing the same room a her has been murdered, and Remi has been accused. Remi is stressed and runs to Hosses place in Texas where she has always felt safe. However when she gets there she is thoughly spanked and taken over and over again till Hoss is satisfied. He will protect her but while she is with him she will be punished. These two totally love each other and are made for one another.

This book is definately rated 18 and over and if you dont enjoy rough spankings this is not for you, but if it is, then one click right away this really is worth a one click.

Hoss

What started off as a rough erotic story that had me shocked to start off with. I could see myself reading this a year ago thinking it was too much in Hoss (Morgan’s) treatment of the heroine, Remi.

Remi and Hoss knew each other 20 years ago when they were high school friends. They were supposed to go to the prom together as the book’s first sentence brings us to that moment. We quickly realize the rift that caused them to never speak again. I was left feeling hurt for poor Morgan who’s nickname given to him by others was Hoss.

The rest of the book is a rough romance that erotic dreams are made of! If you’re like me and appreciate a rough sex erotic novel, you my friend are in for the book of your life! Seriously, this was one of the hottest books I ever ever read. You have to of course, suspend your own morals because come on, we don’t read books like this to mirror our own marriages or relationships, we want a hot read!

You know how sometimes you’re searching for a book where the hero treats the heroine like crap and really rough... yes girl this is it! Good job Ms. James ;) I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

You know, there’s a huge genre kissing for books like this. Just super sexy books with a really romantic love as well. That place is filled with Delta James and a few others. I’d love to see more books like this in the future.

I was completely blown away on how Morgan/Hoss reconnected with his long lost love Remi. I wasn't sure if he was doing all that dominant stuff to Remi because he was butthurt from being stood up 20yrs ago at the prom and wanted to teach her a lesson or he really loved her and trying to adjust her to his lifestyle. I commend Remi from not being totally submissive but giving in when she knew she couldn't overcome her circumstances. She still had her independent streak and he wasn't able to totally break her, which I don't think that was Morgan's intention. Their chemistry was explosive. The author gave us graphic details (not for the faint at heart) on how dominant Morgan was with Remi. The backstory was a murderer on the loose and threatening Remi. Morgan and his comrades do all they can to keep Remi safe and save the day. The HEA was great and I was glad Remi and Morgan was able to clear up misunderstandings and move on.

Prom will be their first date but neither of them make it. Hoss and Rem are 2 likeable characters. Unfortunately because they are teenagers the adults around them make decisions that keep them apart before they get a chance to begin. Layer on lies and misunderstandings and it is years before they see each other again. When Rem’s life is threatened she runs to the one person who can protect her. Can they both get past the hurt and have a loving future together?

“Hoss” is a good story with a Dom/sub theme. There are great descriptive scenes with willful behavior and the painful/pleasurable consequences of disobedience. Hoss is a protective, large and in-charge type of man. Rem is in a dangerous situation and she doesn’t like being told what to do. She requires plenty of attitude adjustments. And Hoss is very talented at that! A fun, entertaining read with an easy to follow plot and nice cover. I love the epilogue!
