He vowed to never love again, but now his undead heart is beating... She finds it hard to keep living; is he her salvation?
Since his turning, Caleb lives in his remote country estate with a skeleton staff. His beloved rose garden occupies his time; a tribute to his past lost love, along with a sharp reminder that the thorns that would scratch a human leave no lasting mark on a vampire.
Artist Vivienne dreams of a garden and a stranger, feeling compelled to sketch roses over and over. When the name Tetburn Manor whispers on the edge of waking, she finds the house and gardens that match her dreams and sets off to sketch them, wondering if the house can lift her constant melancholia.
Caleb watches Vivienne as she herself blooms while she paints his garden standing outside of his estate. Should he listen to his heart and let her in?
Warning: this book mentions self-harm.

Another quick read from the Vampire Mates series. It was a little unpredictable and I like the simplicity of the story
It just that I never get to understand why Vivienne was in a state she was in. Though it was mentioned that she struggled in life but I wish it was tackled more. This is interesting concept, especially nowadays.
Intriguing journey into the vampire world. Caleb has been a vampire for 100 years and has settled into a routine taking care of the roses at Tetburn Manor. Vivienne is an artist who is unsettled in life. She struggles to fit in, often resorting to cutting to feel whole. When vivid dreams of roses appear, it pushes her to paint and provides a sense of peace. When she realizes the roses exist at Tetburn Manor, she has to find it to see if the peace she found can stay. When Caleb seeks her out on the property, the connection she felt in the dreams grows. Can this human be the true love for Caleb? Will Vivienne be able to accept or embrace a vampire’s world? Or are other forces in play that want to keep them apart? The intrigue, romance and unique spin on vampire lore captivated me and ultimately surprised me. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
A short story about fated mates. Part of the Midnight Coven universe, this is a stand alone book. Caleb, a vampire, lives a life full of routine, he barely notices the years pass by. One day suddenly his heart starts beating again. Could his true mate be nearby? Vivienne, an artist, who self harms and lives quite isolated, has dreams of roses and a shadowy figure in a manor. One morning she finds out the place actually exists and makes her way there to explore and find answers. But will she like the outcome? This is a beautiful short story about past lost love and finding a new purpose in life. I loved both Caleb & Vivienne's characters. Both are existing, not living and fate has something else in store or them. Really enjoyed reading this story, another well written book by Andie!
I decided to try another Vampire Mate book because Immortal Hexes was so good. This one was ok. The writing was alright. The storyline was interesting. There was not a lot of spice and what was included was over pretty quickly. The ending seemed a bit rushed. Overall, it was a decent read.
This was a quick enjoyable novella. Two people living a dead life and just going through the motions. Will each be willing to change and accept what fate has in store for them? Find out. I love Andie’s books and if you’re in need of a laugh, yet her Dating agency series and her Sucking Dead series. Both are fabulous.
Fantastic gripping story. From the first page i couldnt put it down 3 hours to read this incredible short story. Absolutely loved it fantastic read amazing writing. Please remember to read tigger warning first .
I also finished this one yesterday, a short read at 110 pages. A brilliant story, vampire & human. Love. I would have preferred this to be a full-length story, but I still enjoyed it. Just felt rushed. Trigger warners for self harm and blood. 3/5 stars. 📚❤️
I love a Vampire book and Andie M Long delivered with this story. Whenever I see a Rose Garden now it will bring me straight to this story.
Caleb and Vivienne Story is just perfect. He’s a Vampire, she’s Human and after loosing his true in the most cruellest of ways fate brings these two together. Caleb lives in a Beautiful Manor with impressive grounds and the most beautiful Rose Garden he had a house full of staff and security.
After loosing his true love Caleb poured his time into the Rose business he’s built spending his time looking after the roses. His once beating heart, beats no more until it does.
Vivienne is fighting her own demons, the ones in her head. That call out to her. (Check triggers as there is mention of self harm. I think this was done in the most thoughtful and respectful way. As someone who has a family member who would self harm I don’t particularly like to read about this stuff but it’s done in a way that it’s not in your face.) While fighting her demons she has a release in her paintings in her art. Which is what she does. Puts paint brush to canvas and pencil to paper and she creates the beauty that is her art.
Vivienne starts having dreams where she sees things and is drawn to a manor and the most beautiful Rose Garden. Like a moth to the flame she is drawn to this place and spends her time painting and getting lost in the beauty, all the while she’s trespassing, but she’s can’t help the pull she has to this place, but who’s is this manor.
Human and Vampire don’t mix right. Unless fate has other ideas and Caleb’s still heart, is still no more. Beating stronger and stronger indicating his mate is near. They soon find each other and in a way they save each other. Their love for each other is a fairytale. Of second chances for Caleb and a saviour for Vivienne the one who quiets her mind. Who saves her. This story is not without its twists and turns and I was not expecting Jenson. Wow when you think you know where the stories going then whammm nope you’re wrong. I did not expect that.
Immortal Bite, although not overly long, still manages to be a fairly sweet vampire love tale with a darker and more realistic thread running through it.
I absolutely adored the inclusion of the mental health issues raised in this story and I think it was done with terrific sensitivity and with a tremendous amount of realism incorporated, it wasn't romanticised and it was never suggested that falling in love would be a cure, it just was and that to me made Immortal Bite that little bit more profound. It was dark, painful and lonely and all of that protruded off the page, exuded off our heroine and gave the story more heart and depth for sure.
'Maybe it was the fact that dreams were better than my reality that called me to bed for hour upon hour upon hour.
I lived my life in greys.
And dreamed in vivid red.'
I remember coming across the synopsis for Immortal Bite and thinking how amazing the story seemed, just from those few enticing paragraphs and for the most part, this story is engaging and certainly different from the vast majority of Vampire themed romance books out there, but something was missing from the story for me. It failed to captivate me as much as the blurb had promised, and I think it was largely due to the dialogue coming from all of the characters, it didn't seem to flow and carry as naturally as it should have. It felt stilted and robotic a lot of the time., with the word 'shall' overused a great deal, something that tended to grate on me just a little.
I know our main hero has a few years on him and his speech was supposed to be a hybrid of past and modern language but it didn't translate so well for me.
This isn't a full length book, it is a novella but even with that author Andie M Long has produced a unique and promising love story. The main male protagonist and female protagonist are great. Their characters are well-rounded and charming, full of hurt and longing and flaws and that is what saved the story for me. I could feel their connection even through stagnant dialogue.
It was a lovely story, that held so much promise from the get go but just fell a little bit short for me but I have no doubt whatsoever that a lot of other readers will love this tale.
A warning this book does mention self harming, if this is a trigger please do not read as this is a big part of the characters life. If you are able to look past the self harming you will enjoy this book as it a very interesting tale.
Caleb was violently turned into a vampire and had lost his fiancé, he made a vow to never sire anyone. When he was a savage and wild fledgling he had been taken in by Nicholas the owner of Tetburn Manor, he learned to control his thirst for blood and nearly 100 years later he was settled into a routine of taking care of the roses. But when his heart starts to beat and a uninvited guest shows up to paint his roses the routine he has been accustomed to for years will all change.
Vivienne is an artist who isn’t happy in her life, she often resorts to cutting herself to feel anything. When vivid dreams of roses, iron bridges, a castle and a shadowy man appear in them, she is obsessed to paint and paint. On the cusps of sleep and awake the words Tetburn Manor are murmured. Looking the manor up she finds pictures of the castle and roses from her dreams. Like a magnet she has an overwhelming urge to go to it, where she finds peace at last.
I really enjoyed this quick novella, I was intrigued from the beginning till the end. The connection and bond between Caleb and Vivienne is so strong and instant that neither of them are able to ignore it. I would have liked to know more about what Vivienne had been experiencing before she goes to Tetburn Manor, as not very much detail or information is given to explain why she does what she does to herself.
This story was incredible, exciting, and just plain fantastic!!! It has a very moving and heartfelt storyline😍. Andie is an amazing writer and phenomenal storyteller.
This was a very quick read. The story had a great concept, but, for me, it lacked follow-through. I really wanted more detail to some of the scenes, as well as more dialogue between the main characters. Several parts of the story were glossed over too quickly where I would’ve loved to know more about the characters.
Vivienne barely survives a dark life full of mental anguish and torment. Something about painting calms her just enough to make her feel numb. Nothing eases her mind without self-harm until she dreams of a castle surrounded by roses and it’s master, Caleb. He prowls the grounds by night and is shocked by his sudden change of heart. Her fated dreams lead her to Caleb’s arms and soon they find themselves in a tricky situation. Sadly, I didn't really relate to the characters, probably because it was too short to get to know them well enough.
This story felt old with a modern twist to it, it had great potential, so it was a shame it was so quick. However, if you love short paranormal reads, then it might just be what you are looking for.
Vivienne is an artist who struggles in life and has turned to cutting to deal with everything. When she starts dreaming of roses and the shadow of a man in the castle window she is determined to find this place. Caleb has been a vampire for over 100 years and has settled into his life at Tetburn Manor until something strange happens to him. This is a compelling story about a vampire and a human who are drawn to each other and destined to be together. Andie M. Long has written another fantastic story with intriguing characters that held me captive from the first page until the last. The writing, the descriptions, the characters and the love story are all perfect. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Immortal Bite by Andie M Long a five-star read that will bite back. This is a stand-alone in the Vampire Mates series and I will be checking the rest out if they are half as good as this one is. I have been a huge fan of Andie M Long for a little while, and its work like this that reminds me why I am. Caleb and Vivienne have so much going on in their lives, it’s a no wonder that life is passing them by, the fact they are drawn to each other was sublime, but there is so much more to this story than that.
I loved Vivienne and Calebs story! I hadn’t read a vampire romance book for so long and I forgot how much I loved the entire soul mates and ‘the one’ part.
Vivienne dreams of Tetburn Manor, she’s never been there and Calebs undead heart suddenly beats again! Vivienne is human though and has no idea vampires exist!
This is a really enjoyable and quick read. I really loved this story and I’m looking forward to reading more in the Vampire Mates series!
We always wonder what dreams are trying to tell us. Vivienne has a repeating dream, it's actually showing her what the future holds. The mysterious man, the words, the roses and the castle all point to her next life. She's tortured with a mental illness where she injures herself to feel alive. Following this dream will change her. This was a short story, novella length, with an instalove vibe and a bit of suspense. I received an early copy, my review was voluntarily given.
Novella length story. Vivienne is an artist struggling with some mental health issues, dreaming of a place and man she doesn’t know and painting the roses she sees in those dreams until a name comes to her. Caleb is going through this immortal life caring for his flower business in the name of his former love until something truly shocking happens. Short and slightly intense love story. True mates meant to find each other.
He had everything in his long life, as a vampire. She had nothing more than her painting. Her dreams were obsessed with the Tetburn Manor, and with him. The love, the passion, and the roses. A must read for anyone who seeks adventure and passion rolled into a beautiful bouquet of fantasy and mystery.
Ms long has done it again, another brilliant story. From the start it kept me mesmerized, turning the pages for more. She writes the characters with such depth you connect with them, feeling what they feel. A story of darkness and light, love and hate with twists you never expect. Loved it from start to finish. Looking forward to more from Ms Long.
Not a fan of this book at all. It was like an old gothic harlequin romance but weird as all get out. I can forget the Vampire & the badly written story, the obsession with the roses but not addressing the girls cutting problem..... Yeah that's a no go for me. I wish it had been a DNF but it was thankfully a short read.
The story is good the characters are angsty and the setting is beautiful. However, I feel like this is a short story tgat could have been more. Everything moves too easy and too fast while things between the characters could have been built and nurtured differently. I liked it but it didn't blow my mind.
I was given an ARC for my honest review. This book is a good book. I read it in two days. Love comes in mysterious ways. This is a fast reading book. It is a very interesting story.
