About the author

Over her two-decade-long career, Simcha has written for Pokémon, Disney, Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon. It all began when she was a student at New York University, Simcha landed an internship at the post-production house that dubbed the first seasons of the Pokémon television show. What started as a summer job in college has turned into a lifelong passion for Pikachu and writing for children. Simcha has authored dozens of Pokémon Books from short stories for beginning readers to detailed encyclopedias for dedicated anime fans. In her free time, Simcha loves to read with her husband and daughter, both of whom look just like Squirtle.

Het tweede boek in, hé laten we de anime screenshotten en in een boek gooien als een verhaal. Ik blijf dat hilarisch vinden dat je geld kunnen verkrijgen door gewoon de anime te knippen/plakken en wat tekst (die waarschijnlijk ook zo uit de anime komt) erbij te gooien. XD Maar ik vond het wel leuk om te lezen (al was de NL vertaling echt cringe), tof om Ash te zien trainen, een potje te zien worstelen (nou ja, worstelen... Pokemon gevechten in de ring), battles, en meer. En Team Rocket komt ook nog eens langs~ En Mimikyuu!

Eerder lazen we al een ander deel met avonturen van Pokémon en dat was al genieten, dus ook deze keer werden we weer blij van dit ‘strip’boek. Met zijn harde en kleurrijke cover een echte musthave voor iedere Pokémon fan.

En ook de inhoud is een lust voor het oog, de full colour pagina’s zijn van supermooie en stevige kwaliteit en springen er uit. Met korte teksten en veel spanning zit je zo in het verhaal en de toffe illustraties maken het verhaal levendig.

In Pokémon avonturen in stripvorm, De ultieme z-move vinden we wederom twee verhalen. Het eerste verhaal heet ‘Een gemaskerde strijd en daarin bundelt Ash zijn krachten met de Masked Royal voor een gevecht tegen de Wrekers.
Het tweede verhaal heet ‘Kahuna gevecht’, en daarin reist Ash naar Ula’ula eiland om daar de Eilan Kahuna Nanu uit te dagen voor een beproeving. Nanu denkt alleen dat Ash en zijn pokémon daar nog niet klaar voor zijn.. Wederom een spannende missie waarin Ash zichzelf wil bewijzen!

Voor velen hoef ik niet uit te leggen wat Pokémon zijn en wie Ash is, maar mocht je nou nog niet zoveel van ze weten kun je toch volop genieten van dit verhaal. Regelmatig krijg je wat achtergrond informatie en zonder voorkennis zijn deze verhalen ook lekker spannend. Perfect voor de (jonge) lezer die wel houdt van spanning en avontuur in een vlot geschreven stripverhaal.

Grand Trial Showdown, By simcha Whitehill Overall I think it is a good book because of all the action. I Would recommend this book to young kids because it's an easy read. A quote from the book that I like is “BRING IT ON” because it shows how the character has changed.

If you are a fan of Pokemon this book is for you. I enjoyed the first part of the comic. The second part while sending a good message I just wasn’t impressed and felt it ran long.

My 5 year old would rate this 5 stars, but she didn't have to read it. I gave it 4 stars because it's hard to pronounce the Pokémon names and places. My daughters favorite part was when Team Rocket was carried away in a shopping cart.

My almost 6 year old pokemon lover liked this graphic book a lot and enjoyed listening to it! It has two stories inside which are of battles based on the tv episodes from the pokemon series. The graphics are fun for my little ones to look at and I sometimes have to get a few corrections of how the pokemon names are pronounced by my boy 😂. Either way I love reading all good books under the sun but always ones my children really enjoy to read and listen to as well! Five stars and a good review it gets!
