Shuichi Shigeno (Japanese author profile: しげの秀一) is a manga artist, best known for the manga series Initial D. Shigeno has also created Bari Bari Densetsu, Dopkan, and Tunnel Nuketara Sky Blue ("First Love in Summer") all prior to the manga that would make him famous in 1995. In 1985, he received the Kodansha Manga Award in shōnen for Bari Bari Densetsu.
There is so much wrong with the writing throughout this series and this is one of the biggest. The fact this kid is toying with Tak just to impress a girl who is way older than him so fucking dumb as a final race. His first street race, going up against Tak, the MC, who’s only lost once….and he’s playing him like a fiddle just to impress this girl he met a half hour ago is so shit.
