Onyx will deal with the results of making a wish in the Silver Springs magic spring. Stone Hill High this year will offer a modern rendition of a timeless classic: A Christmas Carol.
Onyx is cast for the main role of a female Scrooge. Title of the play: Her Bah Humbug, which is very fitting since our Onyx despises Christmas with all her heart.
What happens when three sexy high school senio... ehm ghosts will try to show her the error of her ways?
Will the magic pumpkin spice latte drank by the three hotties set to co-star in the high school Christmas play make them fall for her?
Is love caused by the wish at the magic spring?
Did Julian (the Jewels Cafe owner) lend a helping hand?
It certainly seems suspicious that the three hot guys are suddenly all over Onyx when they’ve never really noticed her before.
Come to the play on Christmas Eve and see what happens.

Such a great and sexy rendition of Scrooge. I could re-read this over and over again. In the spirit of the up coming holiday, I’d say Melissa Adams definitely nailed it. Each characters were given their back stories that flowed nicely throughout the book. I love how the guys took on their roles of Christmas past, present and future plus Onyx definitely had the reasons to be the perfect Scrooge. From “bah humbug” to oh baby, this book is a definite must read and a great addition to the Jewel Cafe Collection.
Onyx is a fun Christmas quick read. It's a girls version of Scrooge and I was so down for this!!
In Onyx we have Onyx, who dis likes Christmas. Why? who would hate Christmas!! But with all the bad luck she has had it seems at holidays, she is not down for them. Add another bad luck instance that involves an ex and his current girlfriend and yeah Christmas time sucks for Onyx. But things heat up for Onyx when she is sent to another class. One with three hot guys who just so happen to want her.
Honestly who can take a story like Scrooge and turn it into a fun Christmas story, Melissa that's who!! So if you are looking for a nice read Christmas or not, give Onyx a try.
It was good but the most depressing Christmas story I’ve read this year. This time everyone is human so it is pretty much a school romance. I felt sorry for Onyx, the beginning being doom and gloom. As always PSL makes things better. In this case slightly better and it was clever how it got in their systems. I liked the guys after the PSL, before? nope except Dylan. Onyx has possibly the biggest character growth in the series. Favourite character was Miss Devlin.
This was a cute HUMAN RH in this magical world. I have not read all the rest of the books in this series, but loved how this one was Human related. There were a few phrases, tiny things, and focus a but too much on the play that dropped the rating down to 4.5 for me. However I really enjoyed the overall feel. I do wish we saw a bit more relationship development and a lot less of the drama queen. I really enjoy how the books I’ve read thus far in this series have been tied together.
Very cute Christmas read! Onyx is amazing I absolutely adore her and her men. The twist on scrooge is great. This book hooked me from the start I tried to read it slowly because I didnt want it to end. This is a definite must read for the Christmas season!
My taste is a little wonky lately. Books I expect to be five star reads all of a sudden disappoint and books I'm not that sure about all of a sudden grasp me and refuse to let go. Since contemporary isn't really my thing, I wasn't entirely sure about this book. However, I love the Jewels Cafe series and I was so happy when I won this one for Christmas!
And this morning I just started reading and I was so sad when I reached work and had to quit. I wanted to know how this story would finish, although I already had some ideas of course. The story is slightly addictive and because it's not too long it never drags or feels like it's just filled with scenes that don't add much to the story.
The result is a cute and sweet story about a girl who lost faith in Christmas and in guys, rightly so. It's the perfect story to read on a bad day. It's just lovely and adorable and although there are some dramatic moments, especially because Onyx isn't the most confident person in the world and because some high school girls are just bitches, it's mostly a story that made me smile and feel great and happy. And once I did read the last page I had this very nice and pleasant warm feeling in my chest.
It's not some deep story. The characters aren't layered or complicated or incredibly interesting. The plot also wasn't that sophisticated. But sometimes that's not what we need anyway. And today this story was what I wanted, what I needed and what my soul and heart longed for. And I'm glad that Christmas brought it on my path, because else I might have never read it.
This was such a cute RH story about Onyx and her boys. Onyx hates Christmas because of all the bad luck she's had over the last few years during the holidays. To continue with her bad luck streak her ex-boyfriend tells her she's off the debate team because he doesn't want it to be awkward for his current girlfriend. LOSER!! Just saying! The only elective left is theatre arts. Things get shaken up when Robin, Allan and Dylan start to fall for Onyx. What could wrong right?? This story had me laughing and rooting for this foursome. I love a good HEA!!
Onyx is such a wonderful character!!! Kind and loving she has several bad incidents that have occurred in her life and they’ve all taken place during Christmas. She has turned into a bit of a Scrooge, lucky for her, she has three amazing guys to change her mind! Such a fun take on a Christmas Carol I absolutely loved it!!!!!
I’m not a huge fan of high school stories but this was a very sweet story about an insecure teenager with crushes on three hot boys. Thwarted at every turn by the mean girl, Onyx has the rise above and figure out how to move past her self doubt.
This is such an amazing book. I love Onyx and the guys Dylan, Allan and Robyn. It all started years ago where Allan and Robyn made a pact about Onyx. Dylan comes to town and is a cousin. They include Dylan. Dylan than says but what if she didn't have to choose. This starts a series of events including a PSL. They star in a play her bah humbug and Onyx despises X-mas. That makes her perfect for the role but offcourse there is an evil girl wanting all she has.
Well I honestly adored this story. I can relate to poor Onyx and feeling overwhelmed by bad luck at Christmas. I was shocked to find out mid-story it had a slight PNR aspect but it’s a lovely addition. I could use my very own Christmas wish, too. Especially if it results in my own harem!
This was my first introduction to the Jewels Cafe books. I absolutely loved the story of Onyx and her guys. The take on the school play was a fantastic idea and Miss Devlin was delightful. I can’t wait to read the Jewel Cafe books by the other authors now. Thanks Melissa, another excellent read.
I absolutely adored Onyx! This book was a cute spin on A Christmas Carol with a girl who has dealt with continuous negative situations during Christmas time and three hot guys who give her reason the believe in the holiday season again. Sweet guys, perfectly steamy, and some mean girl action make this the perfect novella for Christmas time. I'd love to see how Onyx and her guys are doing further down the line!
I absolutely love Onyx, she is an amazing character. She's sweet and I can completely relate to her with despising Christmas, but a special drink may remedy that as 3 hot guys come to find her irresistible. I love the details of the town and how the characters interact with each other. It's very well written and so smooth and easy to read that you feel like you're apart of the story. I highly recommend this book.
Onyx was the prefect fun and entertaining holiday read. I love the premise of the story and it adds to the plot. The characters are funny, the story grabbed my attention and I read it in one sitting!
It's a great read! The FMC is strong, the guys aren't perfect (but still exciting), and there's plenty of steam. Plus, the villainess is more than just a mean girl which adds a bit of scare to the story. I like Melissa Adams' work - and this is a sweet addition to her growing library. The added bonus is that the characters are actually into theater - a nice change from the jocks, popular students, etc. Highly recommend.
This was one of my favorites out of this series!! This is my first Melissa Adams book but it won't be my last!! I loved Onyx, Robyn, Dylan and Allan!! This was a great Reverse Harem! All the boys deserve to be in my harem!
This short Christmas romance was just what I needed to get me into the holiday spirit!! I absolutely loved Onyx and her sweet and caring men!! The chemistry of all the characters definitely mad me fall in love. Thank you for this perfect holiday read!!
This book was so good . I love onyx and the boys but I absolutely hate , hate that selfish cow Valentina . I totally think onyx should’ve pressed charges against Valentina . Oh and I love the baby’s name. Plus a totally awesome ending

This book was a true joy to read. I have enjoyed reading each of the silver springs library series with each book a different character written by a different author
I was lucky enough to beta this story, it is so cleverly written, with a Christmas theme, it hooked me from the start. A modern day adoption of Scrooge set within a contemporary setting. The storyline was amazing with some great characters and well paced, I need to read more of the Jewell’s cafe series and more by this fabulous writer
A RH romance with some magical help. Onyx hates Christmas. Nothing good for the past four years has happened on Christmas. But when she is forced to play Scrooge in a twist of the original tale, she may not be saying Bah Humbug for long. Love the twist of the play. Onyx is eighteen and is a senior in high school. With three ghosts of Christmas things do heat up. But can she break the Christmas curse or just break a leg? Plenty of romance throughout. I just want to know Fred’s story and who he is.
WOW oh wow. This book will grab you from the moment that you pick this book up. It moves along at a great pace making for an enjoyable read and one that you will not want to put down. The characters are amazing and will grab your heart and you cannot help but fall in love with them. The story moves along and will keep you turning pages till you reach then end. This book has to be read, no doubt about it.
Even reading this happy story in the summer couldn't stop the warm, fuzzy feelings of Christmas it brings. Onxy is a character all ladies can relate to in some way. She reminds us what it's like to be a girl on the verge of her adult life. I loved the take on the classic Holiday story and the new life breathed into it. I can't wait to read it again with a mug of hot cocoa and some Christmas cookies!
