When God Says Go is a hardbound devotional that is right on time for the current situations we are facing in our world. This journal is a devotional with a scripture, thought and plenty of lines to write your thoughts and feelings about the devotional or what God spoke to your heart. God is calling us to go by being His hands, feet, voice and heart to the world. Too often we find an excuse, but this devotional thought journal will encourage and inspire users to do more for Jesus by going into action. I’ll be using this devotional journal for months as each devotional is timely and can easily be reread and pondered since there are no specific dates in this devotional.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. I have expressed my own sincere thoughts.

This is an inspirational Christian journal for people who God has called to do something. It supplies 107 days worth of devotional journaling on the topic of God's plans for the reader. Each devotional consists of a relevant Bible verse, a paragraph or two of the author's thoughts, a thought-inspiring journaling question, and almost two pages of lined writing space. The physical quality of the book is excellent, a cloth-bound hardback with an attached bookmark and a nameplate in the front, perfect for gifting. I liked the fact that although the book can be read in conjunction with the author's book "When God Says Go", it also stands alone. Buying both books is not necessary.

There were three main things that I disliked about this book:

I did not like it that the book was so fluffy and feel-good. It was a "God loves you, you're wonderful, you can do it" inspirational book. Just stating outright that "God loves you", when obviously the author does not know who is reading the book, is not Biblical. God hates people, too. Remember, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated"? God loves His children: those who love Him.

The author also used quotations from many different adulterated Bibles, settling on which quotes best suited her purposes rather than which were more accurate to God's Word. I did not like that.

The language used in the book distinctly targeted millennial and the younger generation. Like. So. Totally.

Overall, I'd give the book three stars. If you are wanting more of a feel-good journal with Christian leanings than a serious devotional for the mature Christian, then this may be for you.

When God says, “Go,” we must face our fears. . .our excuses. . .and our selves.
When God says, “Go,” it's time to answer His call wherever it leads.
When God says, “Go," what will you do?
Author Elizabeth Laing Thompson invites you to walk alongside people of the Bible who were called by God to fulfill His purposes. . .people like Moses, Rebekah, Abigail, Jeremiah, Mary, and others. These Bible heroes responded much like we do--with a jumbled-up inner storm of excitement and fear, insecurity and hope. Their stories and struggles will provide a roadmap for your own story, helping you face your very own doubts, regrets, and worries.
When God calls, it’s time to go. Maybe somewhere new, someplace you've never been. Maybe it’s time to go forward after being stuck with one foot in the past. Maybe it’s time to go deeper—in Bible study or relationships. Time to go higher—in prayer or dreams. Time to go and give—to use talents and opportunities God has given you. Or maybe it’s time to go and grow, right where you are. . .to dig into the Word, dive into your heart, and become the woman God is calling you to be.
Ready or not, God is calling us all to go somewhere new in our walk with Him. So what are we waiting for? Let’s answer His call. Let’s get started!

When God Says Go: A Devotional Thought Journal by Elizabeth Laing Thompson coordinates with her book, When God Says Go. I have not read When God Says Go, but I did read through the devotional journal. Topics included God’s presence with us, letting go of shame and guilt, deliverance through difficulty, spiritual gifts, personal giftings, and more. I like how she presented a topic and then made it practical. For instance, she says to fight excuses and limitations with Scripture to help you view the limitation for God’s perspective. I’ve never thought of doing that before!

Each two-page spread of When God Says Go: A Devotional Thought Journal focuses on one thought for the day. There’s a Scripture passage, a devotional thought, a question for reflection, and ample space to respond. Physically, this is a sturdy, hardcover journal and I love that it includes a built-in bookmark for convenience.

I recommend When God Says Go: A Devotional Thought Journal to any woman sensing God’s leading toward something new. Even without the companion book, it’s a journal full of stimulating and encouraging prompts for self-examination and personal growth.

When God Says Go by author Elizabeth Laing Thompson is a beautiful hardback, cloth bound Christian journaling devotional book. I love that it has space to write down my thoughts after reading the daily devotion. It is a nice size, too, and has an attached ribbon bookmark to keep track of where you stop.

There are 107 lessons included in this inspiring book. Each one has a scripture to go along with the story before leaving space to journal. Devotions are about people God has chosen to do something. Stories about Mary, Moses, and Rebekah will have you nodding your head in agreement. There are so many others that are also timeless and relevant to us today.

I found the readings to be uplifting and encouraging. Each left me pondering it and gave me plenty of notes to write. The stories told of struggles, trials, and triumphs. The people had fear, anxiety, and doubt, but they also had hope, trust, and God. The book is meant to help people grow and be encouraged.

Even though this is an accompanying devotional to the author’s book of the same title, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. It did make me want to get the book now. I highly recommend “When God Says Go Devotional” to everyone. It would make a nice gift. A copy was provided by Barbour Publishing but these are my own words.

go: the smallest of words, the biggest of meanings…

I’ve written down my thoughts since I was able to hold a pencil, so my love for journaling runs deep. I especially enjoy it when my journaling blends with devotional time.

Above all other aspects of this journal, I love its simplicity. The messages are forthright, the Scripture verses are applicable, the questions are unpretentious, and the lined pages offer plenty of space for journaling. Although each short devotion is distinctive, they all have a central theme revealing: God is calling us. Will we answer His call?

The hardcover book is sturdy and pretty, with a textured feel, an attached ribbon bookmark, and a presentation page in the front for gift-giving. hardback cover is textured stimulating

When God says Go is a practical way to spend time with God by journaling our thoughts. The readings only take moments, making it easy and reasonable to do every day.

Sometimes God calls us to do easy things but, more often than not, He calls us out of our comfort zone to do something we can only do through His power and help.  The only requirement is that we say "yes" when He says "go".

Elizabeth Laing Thompson's book "When God Says Go" challenges us to embrace the change that follows saying yes to God's call. She encourages us to step out in faith when our fear is stronger. In the companion journal, Thompson gives us an opportunity to put our thoughts into words and gain an understanding of our calling, face our fears and discover God's perspective.

While it is helpful to read the book, the journal can be used without it. If you feel God's call and are struggling with doubt, use Thompson's devotional thought journal to help sort out your feelings and find encouragement.

When God Says Go: A Devotional Thought Journal by Elizabeth Laing Thompson is a hardcover Christian devotional journal that provides a short paragraph by the author and a thought-provoking question to answer on one page and on the opposite page a Bible verse and plenty of journaling space. There are 107 days worth of journaling in this book, which can be used alone or in conjunction with its "When God Says Go" companion book by the same author. An attached ribbon bookmark helps to easily find your place again. Since it's not dated, the reader can skip around or even just write occasionally as they wish. When God says GO, will you answer His call or will you hold back in fear and ask why me? This journal will help give you the courage to raise your hand and say 'I am here, send me'. This would make a great graduation gift or other occasions such as for a birthday or Christmas.

I love journals, especially devotional journals. Why? Because I have something to read and think on and then I can jot down my thoughts.
Who would have ever thought that we, the United States people. would be going through a quarantine of sorts with the dreaded COVID19?!
Well, not me! So this devotional showed up in my mailbox at the right time.
I hope through all of this virus I can become a better person.
More kind, more thoughtful, and more God-like.
This devotional has small devotionals and then a lot of space to write one's thoughts and feelings. This is something that is therapeutic for me, right now.
The "go" in this devotional is not a verb to actually stand up and move...it's more of a "linking verb." We are told to go and become, go and do something for others. Such and interesting thought.
What a wonderful devotional/journal!

First I have to say what a beautifully made book this is.  The beautiful blue color and hardback cover are top quality. The outside is lovely but the inside is even better!
On the left side of each page is a bible verse with lots of room below to write my thoughts. On the right page is a short devotional thought to think about  I found it helpful especially on days when I needed nudging.  Below the devotional is a question to ponder, then plenty of space to write my thoughts.
How many times have I wanted to serve God in some new way for me and I was afraid to take the first step!  How many times have I thought I'm not gifted enough, smart enough, or strong enough to help someone else! This devotional book is a wonderful way to show someone you care,a keepsake, a nice gift for someone else or yourself!

It is suggested that this journal is the perfect companion to the 2018 devotional When God Says Go but I found this to be a wonderful devotional in itself. Elizabeth Laing Thompson shares over 100 inspirational entries and each one has two pages dedicated to Bible scripture, devotional thoughts. questions for reflection, and lined spaces that allow you to record your own thoughts. When God Says Go offers inspiration and motivation, beginning with the reminder that "God is always calling" to the last question "What do you need to let go of in order to jump out of the boat?"

The hardback cover and green ribbon bookmark make this a beautiful book to give as a gift but you'll certainly want a copy for yourself. You will be motivated to dig deeper into God's word and motivated to answer the call "When God Says Go".

A very timely book! This is a book filled with scriptural references and thoughts which comfort in the hard days, months and times of our lives. It gives space to write our own personal thoughts by journaling daily and allowing a space to share our thoughts, express how we feel and perhaps share with family members.

The book asks questions and suggests things you might write down regarding to thoughts to specific topics expressed on the pages. I don't think you would need to write your thoughts page by page, but also skip to the pages that may have more specific thoughts that are currently on your mind and gives you the space to express the thoughts you have. I like this very much especially in a troubled World.

This journal is the companion to the book of the same name by Elizabeth Laing Thompson. It is divided up into short devotionals with Scripture, reflection questions, and ample space for journaling your thoughts. The devotionals focus on listening to God speak and embracing what He has in store for you.

This beautifully bound book is the perfect inspirational gift idea. It offers hope and peace for all those who read it. It is especially relevant in today's world and is very beneficial at this time. I have not read the book that goes along with this journal, but I know that I would really enjoy it and gain a lot from it. A beautiful hardback devotion. This is such a perfect journal for sharing thoughts after reading each daily devotion. Every page has a beautiful scripture along with a devotion and plenty of space to write your thoughts to each question. A beautiful green ribbon bookmark holds your spot.
Each devotion gave me so much to think on and grow me in different ways.
I am so in love with this devotional and look forward to every morning reading and journaling in it.

A beautiful journal with an attached ribbon bookmark. Perfect for gift giving as it has a bookplate in the front to personalize. It begins each day with scripture and lines to write your thoughts. The author then gives her thoughts on the facing page with thought provoking questions and more lines to write your answers. This is a great tool to deepen your walk with God. Go-go where God is sending you.

Beautiful book inside and out! I love the bible verses along with questions and author thoughts to get me started. My favorite part of journaling is comfort and the bible verses are on the mark to provide both comfort and inspiration. I am sure that by the time I finish I will feel inspired to use my God given gifts even outside what is my usual comfort. So timely that it would be a great gift to provide support for friends and family - a good read.
