To artist Glynna Williams, Texas was a land of wild beauty, carved by God's hand, untouched as yet by man's. And the most exciting part of it was the fierce, bare-chested half-breed who saved her from a rampaging longhorn bull. Just as the untamed wilderness called to the painter in her, Hunt's mesmerizing eyes touched the woman in her.

As she spent the days sketching his magnificent body, she dreamed of spending the nights in his strong arms. Glynna knew the paintings she'd done of his Comanche people would guarantee her success as a Western artist, but would she ever succeed in capturing Hunt's wary heart? He'd been trapped and wounded before by a white woman. Now only the gentle bonds of love could make Glynna the Half-Breed's Lady.

Ok I’m hooked! Author Bobbi Smith has definitely won me over as a fan! Love love this story and you will also! I simply could not put this book down! Without giving too much away that it could ruin your reading this book simply put it on your must read book list you won’t regret it! Characters are awesome and you can easily picture in your mind what they look like! I read this book on my kindle which I love! To my surprise there was drawings throughout the book! One special hint I’ll give you is there is a female artist in this storyline! Just one warning though, you won’t be able too put this book down but it will be worth it!!

I'm a sucker for Native American heros and white heroines. I adore this woman's books. She really brings a touchy issue to the front with supreme care in how she handles it. The romance is palpable and the writing really encourages me to hone my craft.

excellent read

This story is actually a reread a couple of times. I still love reading these kind of stories. Hunt was fifteen at the time and being accused of a crime he didn’t do and got a beaten. He went to his mother’s people for a few years. Went back to his father’s ranch. Here comes along Glyanna to paint. There are twists and turns. I highly recommend this.

This story starts out with Hunt being a young half breed man who finds out the cruelty of prejudice people. A young lady has a crush on him and sneaks a kiss but her brothers witness it and believe that Hunt made advances on her and they didn't want her reputation tainted so they thought they would teach Hunt a lesson about staying away from white women, so they beat him up badly... His heart turns cold and he goes to live with his moms people, the Commache. He learns their ways of life and how to survive and defend himself. His father moved to another ranch and his health starts to fail so Hunt goes back to help his father on the ranch.

A young lady, who is a budding artist, and her aunt travel to Texas so she can paint some pictures for her next showing, along the way their carriage is taken over by bandits that rob them and shoot one if the drivers. During this time the young lady meets Hunt, who helps them get to town safely.
She was very taken with Hunt and hopes that she can see him again during her stay.

Her aunt and her are taken to a ranch where she will have some beautiful views to paint, and she discovers that Hunt and his father own this ranch. She wants to get to know Hunt better but he avoids her at all costs because of the beating he got when he was younger. While out on a painting excursion renegades come and kill the guard, shoot the aunt and kidnap Glynna. Hunt comes across the scene and he chases after the renegades to get her back. Hunt finds her but has to make a sacrifice to get her back, and at this point he knows he will do anything because he has fallen for her. On their way back to the ranch she tells Hunt that she loves him but he tells her about the sacrifice he had to name to get her back and that it wouldn't work with them because she us white and he is a halfbreed and she is suppose to marry someone else. She is furious with Hunt

When they get back to the ranch she just wants to go back home to New York. They gave to wait for her aunt to get stronger before she can travel. Glynna discovers some family secrets that rock her world..

I loved the adventure and intrigue of thus story. A very fast read. Enjoyed it immensely!!

Loved it! While I tend to avoid older Native American romances, this one drew me in with its unique premise. I especially loved the sketches sprinkled throughout the book to correspond with what Glynn’s was painting and see things through her eyes. The sketches created a really immersive experience and I found myself wishing for more of them. I would’ve liked to see her drawing of the Rocking M. with Tom standing out front. The sketch “Glynna’s Masterpiece” from the end of the book was absolutely stunning.

This book is a page-turner and the romance is written out to be a slow development even though Hunt and Glynna have only known each other for week?? I’m glad it wasn’t insta-love but to realize you’re in love with someone a week after you’ve met is just wild to me.

Some of the conflicts with the villains were simply unbelievable and frankly unnecessary. Though it can be argued that they were needed for closure and to confirm the “happily ever after.”

Anyways, very enjoyable book I finished it in two days because the pacing was great and I loved the secondary characters. There’s a pretty big twist which I likely wouldn’t have seen coming had I not recently read a book with a similar twist which had me thinking this book might employ it as well. It’s a fun one though that I think other readers would enjoy :)

This story was just like going to a movie and watching the scenes play out before you. A real page turner. No getting bogged down on too much narrative and verbiage. I typically don't enjoy westerns. I go more for modern day romances, however the storyline was interesting to me about an artist going west, to central Texas. I live in central Texas and can attest to the amazing natural beauty of this region. I have read other books written by Bobbi Smith and am becoming a big fan!

I was willing to overlook the author's awful writing, but then when she got in Gery or whatever that wuss's name was, I WAS DONE. I hate books in which the heroines are in love with someone else righ from the beginning.
