"A lot of people are asking, 'Is this all there is? Is this it?' Like a drug, the benefits of power and money are transient, and one always needs another fix. Until a person can step out of this paradigm, happiness will remain elusive." Dr. Robert Hedaya Today's news is an endless stream of the popular, powerful, or prosperous, going through divorce, addiction, and worst of all, suicide. Yet most people in our culture still believe the paradigm that being popular, powerful, or prosperous will bring happiness. In Contented, Pastor Jeff Gipe helps the reader step out of this paradigm and into the one solution that leads to finding peace in all things. Whether you have never set foot in a church or have been going to church for years, this book will put you on the path to true contentment.
This book hits so many verses but yet ties them together in a very fluid, understandable way, never losing track of the central theme. There’s a real genuineness and sense of authenticity. I felt the principles and verses discussed are of the utmost value to the author and that he had a certain urgency, motivated by love, to pass them on.
Worth the read! Pastor Jeff shares practical insights through the Word and lots of meaty quotes. Recommended for anyone who wants to understand contentment from a Biblical perspective. I read this on my vaca and couldn't put it down. :) To summarize, contentment is found through communion with God. Just giving all your cares to Him, and then the peace comes. SO GOOD!!!
This books reads like having a meaningful conversation with a good friend over a good cup of coffee. Jeff has discovered that real contentment is found only in Jesus. and he wants to share it with others so they can know and experience the same truth.
