YAYO: In Chiraq, The Murder Capital

Rate this book
Growing up on the murderous streets of Chicago, Illinois, YATON ANDERSON A.K.A. YAYO falls into a life of crime at a very young age and is convicted of a brutal homicide. After serving a "juvenile" life sentence, Yayo is released back to the streets as a full grown man who's on a "win at all cost" paper chase.

Yayo's once tender heart has been turned ice cold, and he has the mind to match. In a short amount of time, he puts together the Get It Boy Click, and they reign terror throughout the city's drug trade, while Yayo's family prays for him to leave the streets alone. But the addiction to power, fast money and seductive women are hard vices to quit.

With rival gangs and gangsta's, along with crooked cops, gunning for their heads, will Yayo and his crew be able to survive the disloyalty and treachery that cause the demise of so many other drug gangs? Or will their blood be the next to soak the streets that they ruthlessly and unapologetically fight to own?

First time read by this author. What a ride you go on as you read this book. Definitely worth the 5 star rating. Can't write a detailed review because there would be spoilers. Ready for Book 2

I recommend you to read, read, read

I like Yayo because we share something in common, Reese Cup is my favorite candy also. On a serious note, a lot of these street kids originate from bad home situations, because Yayo is a good person with a horrific childhood history, the abuse he suffered was devastating to him and for his mom to witness and not defend him as a child, but I guess she felt by sending him off was helping him. But regardless, he loved him mom. Characters are good, likable characters. I can’t believe Butterball sink Yayo and his organization like that. I really didn’t want to see Yayo get all that time in prison. Quavon gonna be a force to be reckon with.

Money & Betrayal

Haven’t read a book in awhile that has kept my interest like Yayo. There character development of Yaton into Yayo was awesome. The author did great at the transitions there really was a good vs evil theme here. Yaton wanted the best for himself. It started off as just wanting to get money and have something to his name. Well, when he was met with betrayal it changed his whole being and now he couldn’t get out of that lifestyle even if someone paid him.

Wow this book was very

Raw and gritty. It tells about the life of a big time money maker and how you can't trust everyone. I highly recommend this book to everyone who reads. You won't be disappointed. I loved it.
