Ben and Kendall's story is a beautifully written love story. It's a flash back to when Tessa and Lucas were younger and had young children. This is Tessa's younger sister story and what a story it is!!!
All though this book is set at the same time as the love series books it is a standalone so you don't have to have read them but I'd recommend that you will want to. They're just that good !
In this book, Kendall has loved Ben since she was in pre- k but instead he showed interest in her sister Tessa, her poor heart ended up broken. Fast forward years later, Kendall and Ben reconnect. Only Kendall remembers him not choosing her and Ben doesn't remember who she is from the past- at first. Ben is on the verge of becoming this epic music superstar but he's only caring about Kendall and being with her. There is so much angst, twists, feels, steam, romance... just a rollercoaster ride of a romance read!!! Loved it!! Loved the secondary characters in this story as well. Great reading characters from previous stories. Overall, great read!!

Ben is quite the teasing man, “if you moan like that tasting Mom’s Jell-O, imagine how you’re going to feel when I put my di—” I smack his bare abs, and he smirks." Kendall has a ballsy side, "she nods then pushes her hand inside my zipper and grips my ***k like she owns the fucking thing. She does." I liked this book, I liked Ben.

I have stopped counting how many MJ books I have read. Almost all. I have not read the Legacy series and the characters here will be more familiar to those who have read it. That said, it stands alone just fine. Ben and Kendall have known each other most of their lives. It's only now as they are adults that they begin to think that maybe they can be more to each other.

This is a friends to lovers story. However, Kendall has some issues. Ben was once dating her sister and she gets a bit hung up on that. I honestly loved Ben to pieces. It took some time to warm up to Kendall.

What the story has is spades is that family and all that love tangled up in it, will help you through all of life's woes. No matter what goes down, family loves you and supports you. Kendall and Ben's support system could not have been more perfect.

Happy to read how this love story unfolded. Loved the wrap up at the end. Great story!

I started out really into the story -- midway things slowed down before picking up again towards the end. A lot of it seemed to be re-cycle and a bit over-stated and a bit too much to fall for considering lifestyles. I didn't get the full happily-ever-after effect in the end -- although they finally had sex and that seemed to be the ultimate goal throughout this entire book.

I stuck it through til the end, but Kendall was a bit too ridiculous to me. She was always so quick to assume Ben had effed up when in fact it was her. It got the point where I had to wonder exactly what Ben say in Kendall that would make him keep fighting for her.

Such a beautiful story, such charming and endearing characters, such a wonderful love story. I absolutely loved everything about this book. So much so that I hated leaving this family when it ended. Two people who know what they want out of life, what their dreams are and are chasing their dreams when their two worlds collide one night, in some bar across the ocean, far away from their own home. Two people who have known each other since they were small children, with intertwined lives, now come face to face in adulthood and begin traveling on a new path. One that will not only see to the accomplishment of their own dream but bring them toward the dream that just may be the biggest dream of all.

Ben and Kendall are such wonderful characters and I loved taking this journey with them. Ben is working at his dream of music, writing songs for a band comprised of brothers and has had many "experiences" along the way. Kendall has her morals, her beliefs and her truths that she holds tightly to. She has seen what heartbreak does to those around her but she also knows what she wants when it comes to her own love life. She wants to find the man who won't give up on his dreams for her but will also not expect her to give up on hers for him. She wants the man she falls in love with to be the only man she will ever love, and he her. She will not give up her virginity until she is married to that man, and she holds that close and is determined to see it through. So when Ben first sees her, not seeing her face, he hits her with a sexual come on. From the moment he recognizes her, he's hooked and their story begins.

For their many ups and downs, his struggle but determined vow to wait until they are married with her, their story comes to life right before your eyes and will bring you laughter, tears and complete joy. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to those who want to read a truly heartwarming romance. Yes, there will be times that you will want to clock one or both of them, but it is those times that you become a little more endeared to them. Five huge stars for this book!

Kendall is living life her way - Just cruising along exploring all the things the world has to offer
She is in no hurry to settle down when the perfect man comes along she will know.
She has seen how settling for less works in a relationship and she wants more in her life.

Ben is living his dream in the music industry. And never doubt that he is indulging in all the benefits that come with the lifestyle.
He is a firm believer in pleasure without commitment.

Okay, I am going to be a bit blunt -
Ben likes sex - A LOT!
What is not to like about giving and receiving pleasure?
Life is short - YOLO - etc. etc ...
I enjoyed Ben's enthusiasm for the most part. Really, I did but there were times he was just a bit too exuberant in his attempts to sway others (like Kendall) to his belief system. That brings me to some of his choices - he is lucky I was unable to reach into the pages.
It swears at times his mind only worked on one track - Ben's.
I have to give him props though - When he wants something he does a pretty good job of going after it

Kendall was a spitfire. She took the chances that made her happy she sought out the challenges. She hid from heartache. But never did she sell out her beliefs. I loved her tenacity. Her zest for life was contagious.

The chemistry between these two is immediate as a reader I could feel the tension radiating from the pages

One of favourite from MJ Fields and Ben and Kendall's story is definitely going to melt a lot of hearts. Ben is the epitome of a book boyfriend and this guy was just simply adorable with a capital A. Kendall is a strong woman and knows what she wants and how she wants to get it. I loved that she stuck to her morals and her guns despite the sex appeal and the blossoming relationship with Ben.

I loved that Ben stood by Kendall's wants and only encouraged her to live the life that she has always wanted. #firsthand love at it's finest.

I really enjoyed this book. It has an easy flow to it that I found myself just gobbling up the pages. Okay, I have to say I need a Ben in my life. He has patience of a saint and integrity that makes him perfect book boyfriend material. This book also had me laughing quite often and then it would hit me in the heart producing some tears. The thing I love about MJ Fields' writing it she gives you a great story, but hits you with real life. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, but she always leaves with me a smile on my face and my heart happy sighing. This book was no different. Trust me you're going instantly get drawn in and won't come up for air. All the characters will keep you entertained. It was nice catching up with previous characters. Always nice to see them enjoying their HEAs.

I had a hard time getting thru this book. I’m not sure why but was not connecting with the writing. Story had some points I didn’t like such as H dated the sister briefly years ago. Although nothing serious happened with the sister/H, I’m just tired of the dating the sister trope. This is also another manho story with virgin h. But it didn’t irk me as much because she actually wanted to wait til marriage and she did. Yay for sticking to her guns and not being turned by the magical D. I’m also tired of a past hook us being a point of contention with the MCs. I can understand why the author has this in the story. An experienced hero with a inexperienced h, it’s bound to cause drama and angst. I just think it’s overused in romance stories. I liked Ben overall and was happy he was all in when he met up with Kendall and he held true for Kendall and for himself. Kendall was ok. I liked her but she did grate my nerves a few times. Otherwise this is a fairly safe read. There are no sex scenes with OW. Ben enjoyed the casual hook up lifestyle until he got with Kendall and he was ok with waiting for the h even though it would be a couple of years as she was waiting for marriage and would not think about marriage until she finished college. So for me this was a 2.5 to 3 🌟 read for me.

I can't state this enough for the record, MJ Fields is AWESOME! Her brilliant writing style is so very addictive, and frankly, I find that I cannot get enough no matter what. I feels like she hasn't put out a new release in a cool minute, but honestly, I would feel that way if I didn't have a new release every week from her. Nonetheless, The Way We Fell was almost worth the wait, and I say that in reference that I would have killed for it in my life sooner! Kendall has had a thing for Ben for pretty much since she knew about boys, but he always preferred her sister, Tessa, and so she had her first heartbreak at a young age. Now, we fast forward many years, Kendall finally reconnects with the first boy to break her heart, but there's a problem, he doesn't remember her. Oh the utter horror of that for Kendall. Of course, he finally regains his right mind quickly, and trust me, with the sparks shooting everywhere, it's a good thing he did. They have lethal chemistry, but here's the thing, she wasn't doing anything that she didn't want to do, and the hell with anyone who had a problem. Now that's a big girl alright. It brought out a push & pull that hurt so good, until those moments that Ben seriously pissed me right off. Yeah yeah, I know I'm in a camp by myself, but my feelings don't go along with the masses. That doesn't mean that I didn't fall for Ben, just means that in my eyes, he did some crap that deserved at least throat punch or two (At least I wasn't all about the junk punch). Anyway, this story had it all in spades; angst for days, hilarious interactions (especially with secondaries), potent chemistry, and just all around fun as I cheered Kendall on to get what has been hers since her Pre-K days, only on her terms! So, you may ask, how does it all pan out?! And I'll tell you to one click The Way We Fell IMMEDIATELY, to find out for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Ben Sawyer’s dream seems to be coming true. Kendall Ross loves to experience life and different cultures. Our author doesn’t make a big deal out of it but we have an older man/younger woman but the age difference is minimal. They have a history that gets revealed but it doesn’t seem to take over the story more of building a connection between the two.

This is another story in how differently men and women think. Our author does a good job with that and some moments will even give you a chuckle – others may make you sad/mad in Kendall’s defense. It did have me wonder how you might have handled some of the situations Ms. Fields created. She even takes it one step further because it seems as if Kendall wants the reader to know how she really feels – as if she’s talking directly to us. Some may be team Ben but I’m in Kendall’s corner.

On the flip side, Ben seemed to put pressure on her because he wanted something different from what Kendall wanted. The author made her strong in spirit because she stuck to her guns. She was given a good sense of self. Ben may have been created a little too perfectly because there were times where I got mad in how Ben treated her. But she stuck to her guns and he wasn’t going to force her into changing her beliefs. This is where the book seems so realistic. Her characters didn’t rush into anything and neither do we. There’s one scene where they have a heart to heart and everything said was spot on. If you’re someone that reads until the very end and I mean going past the happy ending, like me, you may find you have some catching up to do when it comes to the families.

At 30% I knew if was a book that I would NOT be able to put down AND one that would cause me to revisit the Legacy Series!
Ben & Kendall are like 🤔... he's giving me male alpha vibes and she's all Legacy.. EVERY time Ben opens his mouth it's a quotable quote .. the entire time i kept thinking ... I can't wait to see how this unfolds! ❤

Its seems a long time since i read the love series and a bit bizarre going back to a time when Tessa and Lucas etc are young again with small children after having read books about said children all grown up, making their way in the world and finding love of their own.
All though this book is set at the same time as the love series books it is a stand alone so you don't have to have read them, however I found it added to the story for me having read these books previously and really enjoyed revisiting the characters .
Kendall is Tessas younger sister and after watching her sister go through heartbreak doesn't want to suffer the same fate so is very guarded with her heart.
Ben briefly dated Tessa to help her heal from said heartbreak and basically annoy the boy who caused her such pain.
I love Ben he is just what you want in a book boyfriend, handsome, musical and with a sexy mouth to boot. Smoking hot
The chemistry between him and Kendall is evident right from the start and I'm not sure how either of them managed to stay PG for so long.
The interactions between the pair were described so well that the heat and frustrations between them comes off the pages, practically melting your knickers off.
A great read and I'm hoping we'll get the chance to revisit more characters within the Ross family circle.

From the moment the thorn was pulled out to the minute they reconnect with Ben's straight forward attitude, this book was one I could not put down. An incredibly sweet and schmexy read of a man that fell for a girl and never gave his heart to another. Did he play around in between the time they met and the moment they reunite? Yes. But from the moment he sets his heart to win Kendall so that they can both have the fairy tale ending they BOTH wanted.
I love that Kendall sticks to her convictions from the get go, always waiting to give her heart away to the one that would hold it forever.

I have not read any of the Legacy Series but this story is a standalone within that series. this author always writes emotionally charged stories and this book is no different. This story centers around Kendall and Ben. Kendall has some insecurities and fears when it comes to Ben’s fidelity and character even though he has given her no reason to doubt him. But Ben is persistent and alleviates her fears at every turn. Overall this was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!!

Omg Ben is the most swoon worthy character that I have read in a long time. Ben knows who he wants and who we wants is Kendall. Truly a beautiful love story that will have you reading non stop. I loved every minute of Ben and Kendall’s story and I didn’t want too see it end. Another 5 Star read that was absolutely phenomenal and the characters were perfection.

Keep giving me more in this group of family and friends and I will dive in. I loved the Love series, The Wrapped Series, The Burning Souls Series, The Firsts Series. This one going back a bit with Tessa and Collin and Lucas and Ashley and all the others. It was crazy how Alpha Ben was in this book, even more than Collin or Lucas. And wouldn't have thought Kendall would be so affected by Tessa's life choices. great read

A romantic read with great characters who stay true to their beliefs and high hopes and dreams. I loved Ben, his respect and romantic reasoning for Kendall was beautiful, and Kendall knew what she wanted and was determined to wait for the right time.

When Kendall Ross and Ben Sawyer run into each other in Dublin; sparks fly. Not only has Kendall crushed on Ben since forever but they are now in their 20s and Ben is a singer/song writer in Dublin, who sees a girl dancing in the crowd and falls hard. As he pursues her, they finally realize they know each other. Ben falls hard and Kendall is adamant they not date because she has two years of school left; he is famous and very experienced. I loved Ben's strong, confident personality when it came to Kendall. But he also had family drama he contends with as well. But Kendall is herself confident, attracted to Ben but wants to wait until marriage, besides she is going to be in school for the next two years. I loved the story of these two people who were meant to be together and all that they did to make it happen. A great romance, sizzling chemistry and great family support!

Nice story

But he's a whore and Marna is a slut. Sex is suppose to be between a couple who have deep love for one another and its the most intimate act between a man and woman, but Ben has shown that sex is just getting off in this world, no love involved. Was glad to see that Kendall felt that way too. I wish you would have shown more of Ben's time. Like the awards what did that go like or did Marna interfere. Did Ben talk to Marna after all the stuff she pulled? It would have been nice to see what was going on instead of jumping around. I have a hard time with your stories cause the guys are jerks and sex is all they think about and women they are around are cheap and you kill off some of the good guys. I liked how Ben changed but why would even let a woman near him to hug and kiss him? Hope your books improve on the guys POV.

Unrealistic

SPOILER!!!!!!!
THIS WAS a PG book, with a heroin hung up on something stupid not to date the hero. I lost interest at 19% when it became clear there would be no sex...the H actually waited two years which happens to be the final pages of the book...at that time I couldn't careless. The h was very immature..No grown man in the music industry would wait two years without actual sex. I skipped through the entire book, the h was just too freaking immature for me!

The dialogue was juvenile, the conflict contrived, the kind of love displayed by the H was unbelievably unrealistic. I was not engaged but felt every eye roll over the over inflated gestures of love the H had to constantly display for the h to always shrug off.

Absolutely Amazing Book

Another amazing story by MJ FIELDS. This book blew me away with all the emotional parts that I felt like I was living through everything with them. This book had twists and turns along with so much love that I had to keep turning the page's to see what happens next and I found it so addictive that I couldn't put it down. MJ FIELDS is an incredible author and amazing writer and I have read all of her books and I have loved every single one. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

I loved Ben and Kendall’s story. I went back and reread to previous books that lead up to this—though it can be read as a standalone. I wanted to remember everything the way it happened and then got into this. It is kind of a slow burn story because Kendall wants to wait for marriage to be intimate and Ben wants that for her—and very quickly starts telling her “when” not “if” it happens for them. He has to work hard to keep her from throwing them away due to other people choices and heartache, but it is a sweet ride.
