Davarian Heroes #2

Mated to the Alien Slave

Rate this book
Mia

After spending decades in stasis aboard Eden Twelve, Mia wakes to a new reality. Humans are under attack from a war-like species desperate for resources and women. Their only hope of survival hinges upon an alliance with the Davarians, the most powerful aliens in the sector.

Fascinated with alien tech and culture, Mia decides to give some of it a test drive. The next thing she knows, she’s accidentally landed an alien husband and doesn’t know quite what to with him. He’s the whole package, handsome, ripped and so sweet on her that it’s hard to refuse him anything.

The problem is, she’s been keeping a secret and once he finds out, he’s going to beat a hasty retreat. Letting him into her heart is stupid if he’s not going to stay. It would be like asking the man to break her heart. Not a good idea when she’s barely hanging on as it is.

Jakar

Jakar grew up in the Davarian tri-world cluster. His moon was lush, temperate, and filled with a large and loving family. Striking out on his own was simply what males did. Unfortunately, his ship ended up getting attacked. He was abducted and kept as a slave. During all those years he kept his faith and never let them break his spirit.

When things are starting to get dangerous his prayers are answered. The gods send him a beautiful mate. Mia is the most beautiful human female and she's attracted to him. But as soon as they begin to get close, she is ripped from his arms by alien-hating humans. If they figure out she’s carrying his child, things will end badly for her. Desperate, Jakar will do anything to save the woman he loves. Is this is the one time that his best might not be good enough?

This standalone SFR with a HEA is the second book in the Eden Twelve series. It is a delicious slow burn romance that blazes to life when Mia meets her destined mate.

Wow, the first book was so wonderful and then this book fell so flat in my opinion. It was a good read, but just didn’t pull me in like the first. The plot of this entire book was solely wrapped around the concept of fated mates and finding her fated mate once she sensed him. The drama was kinda forced and predictable. It’s not a bad read, but it definitely didn’t have the depth that the first book had. Here’s hoping book 3 mirrors book 1 a bit more.

Mia, a human, is fascinated by the Davarians and takes part in their destined mates stone tradition when given the opportunity. Her family is shocked when she actually finds a stone that resonates for her and she begins having vivid dreams about an alien that Mia knows is her mate. With help from the Davarian Regent, mated to her sister, they find Jakar being held as a slave on a distant planet. After rescuing Jakar, he and Mia are finally able to be together, although there is plenty of drama and adventure along the way. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

Hmmm...

It is a shame that even though this book comes from the imagination of the author, I know that the behavior of some human characters would be reality! The focal couple in this book are the perfect match!

Not bad

What happens after you rescue your fated mate? You get to know them better.
The story was pretty good with the rescue itself. What happens afterwards is what made the story better.

Intriguing

Different way of choosing a mate but very wonderful outcome. Slavery and savagery seem to go hand in hand. Love wins in the end.

Jakar at 9 years old listened to his paka’da tell him that in order to find a mate and be successful, you must be honest, devout, and faithful. All Davarian males knew that finding a mate and making children were their two most important goals. Then the two of them created his prayer circle, splitting his prayer stone in half. Half went in a box, the other half was chipped off over and over to make small beads for a necklace. They carved sacred symbols into 5 stones to make the prayer to become a father. They drilled holes in the stones and strung the beads on a fibrous twine with a tiny charm in the center. Then Jakar learned how to hold it for prayer to the gods. The other half of the stone would be released into space to float among the millions of other stones caught in orbit around their planet. A female would be drawn to the stone, and then be drawn to him. The stones were magic. But he wondered how his rock would reach her? He knew she would find him when he needed her most.

As an adult, Jakar’s ship was attacked and he became a slave on an alien ship. He kept his faith and nothing could break his spirit. Just when things begin to get dangerous his prayers are answered by the gods who send Mia to him. But even then, the unexpected occurs and he must take action to save his woman. Will they survive? Was this love truly meant to be?

I loved the history of the Davarians and how they found their true mate with the prayer stones. It was a beautiful story and a special time he could spend with his dying paka’da, learning their tradition to pass on to others. This was a different story line that pulls the reader right in and keeps faith and love right in the midst of things. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Grab your copy and share Jakar and Mia’s story.

This is my favourite book so far and I just couldn’t put it down. Jakar was a young boy when his Paka’da pulled him aside and told him of the prayer stones and the showed him how to make one half of it into a necklace and send the half out into orbit so his mate can find him. Years had passed and Jakar finds himself captured by the evil race Traj and is now there slave and is worked to the bone but in all his hardship he never gave up on finding his One. Mia Phelps has longed to be a medic and finally gets her wish and after a Chance meeting with Nayla she learns about the prayer stones and wants to find her one and after much searching finds nothing until the are leaving and she runs into a lady entering the shop with stones and she is drawn to one she had and that’s when the dreams started about a man that never left her mind and the closer they connected the more desire she has for him and he for her. With help from her sisters Dakota and Grace and her husband Bradon the wise they soon track him down being held by the evil race Traj as a slave and with many others, she tells him through there connection that she is coming for him and that soon they will be together. Jakar feels his mates message and so he prepares for her. What happens now get this book to find out more you want be disappointed.

Jakar is a true gentleman, even the most trying of circumstances... and Mia is his hero

Jakar has been enslaved for years, but through the most trying of circumstances, he has retained the most essential aspects that define him, the core of his being that defines, for him, what it is to be a good person. He protects the weak, defends women from men who would take advantage of them, and whether he means to or not becomes a leader of sorts to his fellow slaves, as he strives to make their lives as livable as possible.

Mia is the younger sister of Grace, who we met in the previous story (which has a timeline that overlaps with this one.) She has a sharp mind and wit, and when she realizes there is a person out there, meant to be her one, she finds a way to give him hope - without ever being on the same planet on him, and persuades those in power (some of whom, thankfully, need little persuading to fight for their people) to help her search for her One and bring him, and those being held with him, to safety.

I loved the characters in this story, particularly Jakar... it is enchanting to believe there are people who will retain their ideals and principles, no matter what life throws at them.

Fated mates united at last!
by sewsummore

In this second book in the series, Mia dreams of her fated mate, and longs for the time when they can be together. Jakar, Mia's fated mate also dreams of the woman who will be his and as time passed their dreams became more vivid until they could also feel their emotions. Mia realized her mate was in danger and thanks to their mating stones she was able search and discover where he mate was held. When they met for the first time their happiness was unrivaled. What I liked the most about this book was the characters, their strengths and the personalities. The descriptions of where they lived and how they lived made this book come alive in my imagination. Of course there story did not end with their meeting and there was much for them to overcome before this story ended.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
All Mia did was take a nap.
How was she to know that when she wakes up Aliens would be real ?
On top of that, she gained an Alien husband.
Jakar can't imagine his luck.
He has a mate.
When danger comes for Mia, will Jakar will do anything to protect Mia ?
Nobody is taking his mate away from him.
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Mia and Jakar are mates trying to work things. Mia goes to sleep and when she wakes up everything she had know has changes. Aliens are real and humans women are one of the resources they need. Jakar ship ended up being attacked and he ended up a slave. Mia ends up with an Alien husband Jakar. This was such an intense and beautiful story watching Jakar and Mia overcome all their obstacles and learn to love each other. Love Juno Wells books. This is another good one. Well written fast paced story full of action and intense romance

This was a really enjoyable romance and fun in the shake up of details. This time, it was our gal, Mia, as the hero and she rescues her fated mate. Jakar was a wonderful character, full of integrity and strength, despite his horrible circumstances. That he could teach and encourage his beliefs, not just practice them, made him someone to fully admire. Again, family plays a big part in this story and I loved watching these two come together.

The Davarian tradition of choosing a rock that spoke to their Soul, making them hear the Song of their love-mate is both mystical and beautiful. In fact, their tradition is quite interesting as the author continually reveals the tri-cluster world.

The stone led to the rescue of Jakar, owner of the other half of the stone Mia holds. Then comes the first meeting, the mating/bonding and the answer to Mia's prayer --- the nesting.

Wow! What a book. It catches your attention and does not let go until you finish it. This book has lots of intensity and romance.

In this book you read Mia's tale. She has to go rescue her mate, instead of the other way around. Then Jakar has to help her.

Will they find each other in time? Was this crazy love meant to be?

Each book in the series gets better and better. Though each one is a standalone. Read this great book and find out what happens.

Love this, couple's temperament, personality & relationship wise are all very well-matched. Love the concept of the stone and enjoyed reading about their adventurous alien planet quest which had just enough drama without overwhelming the romance of the plot. Exciting and entertaining story with great supporting characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In many ways, this was such a sweet book. Yes, there was danger and fear and all the other things the sisters have encountered before, but there's a big twist.

Mia is drawn to one of the stones, and once she has it, she is obsessed with finding her mate. Jakar is a slave with no hopes for ever meeting his mate. If you thought Mia was just the others' little sister who needed to be sheltered, you were wrong! Once she has a bead on her male, nothing will stop her!

Mia found her love-mate, her fated, when she found his prayer stone. Their connection is what sets her on her journey to find him, with the help of her sisters Grace and Dakota and their friends. Mia and Jakar's story is very sweet and really awe inspiring. I loved it! And although this book is linked to Grace's story, the previous book in the series, Mated to the Alien Slave can be read on its own.

Mia and Jakar have an interesting and intriguing journey on their way to finding each other. When she finds her mating stone she realizes he is in trouble. Her sisters think that she’s losing her mind. Will Mia and Jakar finally be together? Will the bad human men kill Mia or perhaps kill Jakar? Good read

This is a slightly different take on the human/alien romance story. In this plot Mia the human female finds her mate Jakar when he is a slave. Their connection s evident but they have a lot to go through before getting anywhere near a HEA.
