Tsugumi Ōba (Profile in Japanese: 大場 つぐみ), born in Tokyo, Japan, is a writer best known for the manga Death Note. His/her real identity is a closely guarded secret. As stated by the profile placed at the beginning of each Death Note manga, Ōba collects teacups and develops manga plots while holding his knees on a chair, similar to a habit of L, one of the main characters of the series.

There is speculation that Tsugumi Ōba is a pen name and that he is really Hiroshi Gamō. Pointing out that in Bakuman the main character's uncle was a one-hit wonder manga artist who worked on a gag super hero manga, very similar to Gamō and Tottemo! Luckyman in all aspects. Also that the storyboards drawn by Ōba greatly resemble Tottemo! Luckyman in style.

Okay this has been the absolute worst volume so far. Two big reasons for that. (Warning for my bad language.)

#1 - I hate the main character so, so much. Inaction is a form of evil, buddy! Has the means to kill people who are going to kill him, his friends, and thousands of other people, but nooooo! I can't do it! Waaaah! So one of his friends (saying that generously) literally is killed because of him. As in, he directly causes the death of one of his allies. But he's the protagonist? Chickenshit waste of space.

#2 - The villain is also terrible! This guy is an absolute freaking idiot!

"I'm going to make everyone equal by killing all the poor people, and then everyone will be rich!"

Like, this kid is supposed to be rich, so you'd think he would have been able to afford a good education, so why is he so incredibly stupid?

Also, um, the whole sister thing? Like, he was literally grooming his little sister for himself. And then has an explosive violent outburst when she's like "Hey, so, I'm a person, and I'm going to have life experiences." This guy takes the already weird manga/anime sister complex and makes it super rapey. Fucking creep.

I am really hoping they kill this guy off (and it won't be the main character who does it because he's useless as fuck) and bring in other villains because I can't take him seriously anymore. If they keep him as the villain, I'm just going to quit.

I'm stuck between two moods: one where the protagonist sticks to his idols, but on the other hand, it's somewhat boring, and the main villain is coming across as dumber than a doorknob. Let's see how it goes, but yeah, the protagonist is getting on my nerves. These are not good characters. Let's hope things are better in the later issues, but let's see. Let's go on and Keep on Reading.

I have always loved comics, and I can and I have. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and I hope you will always love it. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Platinum End, Vol. 7 continues where the previous tankobon left off and contains the next four chapters (20–23) of the on-going manga series.

The tankōbon concludes the match between Mirai Kakehashi between Kohinata Fuyuko, while her bio-weapon has been neutralized – her needles like fingers have not. In the end, it was Sokotani Hajime who sacrificed his life and took one needle that was meant for Saki Hanakago – the person he was under the red arrow with. Mirai Kakehashi, Saki Hanakago, Nanato Mukaido, and the public who is watching the battle stream live were disgusted by how little Metropoliman cared about Sokotani Hajime who pledged his fidelity (prior to being hit by a red arrow) to him.

It is now down to two candidates left Mirai Kakehashi known as Red and Kanade Uryu known as Metropoliman and they decided on a method of battle – a simple duel. One at a time, they would shoot an arrow of their choosing at each other and every time they missed, they would advance closer. They started at thirty-five feet away and at the end of the tankōbon – they are just five feet apart.

With the death of Hajime Sokotani, it brings the death toll of the God Candidates to five with eight other still living. Tonma Rodriguez, the comedian was quickly killed off earlier in the series, Shogo Hatakeyama, Saburo Tabuchi, and Chiyo Nakayma were killed when Metropoliman made his reveal to the world at Jinbo Stadium.

Tsugumi Ohba has written another wonderful tankobon. It showed the back story of Kanade Uryu and how, despite his wealth and beauty, planned to kill himself, before Meyza interfered in his suicide attempt and grant him with the chance to do something no human could do, but only God – resurrect his dead sister. As always, Takeshi Obata's art is simply amazing and accentuates the text rather well.

All in all, Platinum End, Vol. 7 is a wonderful continuation of the series and I can't wait to read more. I am intrigued to find out how the story continues.

Will Mirai be able to use the white arrow on his opponent? Read and see.

After saving himself from a super virus with quick thinking Mirai must decide his next step as the tension between his team and Metropoliman's team continue to escalate. Soon action erupts and both sides will have their fair share of sacrifices leading to the history behind Metropoliman's participation in the tournament to be god and the announcement of what he will do once he has the power.

With his life dangerously on the line Mirai and Metropoliman are going to finish this fight one way or another soon enough. Will he be able to hold on to his ideals that all human's deserve happiness or will he be forced to take life at last? Mirai is a man of strong convictions and equally strong trials ahead. :)

3,25 / 5

Menudos planos y menudos detalles. El señor Obata es un crack indiscutible.

They talk too much and the actions scenes are so confused and hard to understand, I'm not the biggest fan of the art unfortunately

Well, color me surprised: This volume actually had some interesting things in it! We actually got a peak into the main antagonists past and why he wants to become god. It's not a GREAT backstory, but it shows that he has a LITTLE more depth than I had anticipated! Enough that this volume wasn't a complete bore. Is this the point where the series turns around and becomes another classic from the creators of "Death Note?!" Probably not, but it shows that even if this train wreck of a series they created they can still write decent characterizations in the middle of all the preposterousness.

The standoff between Mirai, Saki, and Nanato (plus Hajime) vs. Metropoliman and his red arrowed goons continues with Mirai facing the crazy lady with dangerous bioweapons until Hajime intercedes and gets them the win, only to melt to death in a very gruesome way. Seeing his companions falling, the kid in the Trump mask flees, leaving Metropoliman to fight Mirai one-on-one in an honorable(?) duel that is being broadcast live.

We also get to see Metropoliman's backstory (why he wanted to commit suicide) and it's equal parts sad and creepy. Normal people don't idolize their siblings like that.

This series has 14 volumes.

Beh, stavolta eccolo. Perfino in risonanza media.

I received my copy from the publisher through Edelweiss+.

The art style of this series is a little hard to look at for me. I've always had a problem with it. But I like the story, so I've kept on. And I'm glad I did because volume 7 is a good one. More of Metropoliman's story comes out and the action is intense throughout. I'm excited for the next one.

Y bueno sobre Miras, Niño hermoso he inocente jaja.

Just get on with it!!! We finally get to the confrontation we've been waiting for just to have a bunch of monologuing and idiotic thoughts and actions from the main character. This is only about halfway into the series and all I want is a conclusion. This series is going very much the way of Deathnote; great art with a dragged out story.

As this is by the creators of Death Note (ie all talk no action) a volume of talking doesn’t surprise nor bother me. However isnt the Trump mask supposed to be under the control of a red arrow? How did he willingly leave then? I suspect it’s a candidate but they just left that plot hole…

*bumped it up from 3* to 4* after reading the next volume which answered these questions for me.

How sickening can Mirai Kakehashi get? He's useless. Puny. Couldn't even kill Fuyuko Kohinata in order to save thousands of people. He's far from righteous.

Kanade's motivation was also just .. creepy. Grooming his younger sister? Nah man.

The battle against Metropoliman is still not over.

Sacrifices are made.

We finally learn why Metropoliman was chosen as a candidate for God.

Platinum End has quickly became one of my favorite manga.
