She’s a woman who dreams of hearth and home...
He’s a man with dreams as big as the Montana sky...
Together they could make those dreams come true…if she wasn’t promised to another.

Caroline Bishop leaves war-ravaged Charleston behind to be a mail-order bride for a man she’s never met. Meeting handsome Adam Larsen, a man who makes her pulse race with a single glance, along the way seems like a cruel twist of fate, especially when she learns he lives in the same small town she’s headed to. But fate isn’t through with them yet. When circumstances beyond her control once again leave her afloat, she’s convinced destiny put her in Adam's path so why hasn’t he asked for her hand in marriage? And why does it look as if he never will? Can a little bit of Christmas magic bring them together? Or will she once again spend the holidays alone?

Lily Graison is a USA TODAY bestselling author of historical western romances. She also writes a variety of genres under the name L. R. Grasion. Most all of her stories lean heavily to the spicy side with strong female leads and heroes who tend to always get what they want. On occasion, she can be found penning ‘sweet’ romances with chaste kisses and wholesome values. Ever a romantic, she believes in love at first sight and has a tendency to fall for bad-boy romance heroes.

This is an OK Western romance, with mostly likable characters. It is a sweet romance, and does not contain sex scenes. There were a few editing problems, and I thought the story was a bit too unrealistic.

I did get irritated with Adam a few times, because he was so sure that he didn't have enough to offer Caroline. He should have just told her about his financial situation sooner, and let her decide if she could handle it.

***** Minor Spoiler Follows *****

I really wanted Caroline to just tell Philip that she could no longer marry him, instead of moping around that she wasn't going to get to marry Adam. She finally did, but she should have done it when Philip first met her. After all, she agreed to marry him, then fell in love with Adam when she thought Philip was dead.

***** End of Spoiler *****

It also bothered me that Caroline and Adam didn't talk to each other enough. If they had communicated as they should, most of their problems could have been avoided. It always bothers me when a couple has problems because of a lack of communication -- seems like the author does it just to add unnecessary angst.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Great series......

I've been enjoying reading, Caroline, a story from the series Angel Creek Christmas Brides. The woman has agreed to be a Mail Order Bride, she has set out on the long journey to Montana Territory to meet the man she's to marry. The closer she gets to the end of her trip, the more she doubts herself.

This is a sweet and heart warming story with great character development. This is Caroline and Adam's story. Caroline travels from Charleston to become a mail order bride. Along the way to Angel Creek she meets Adam while sharing the stage coach with him. Upon arriving in Angel Creek, Caroline discovers Phillip, her groom-to-be, was mauled and killed by a bear. Adam pursues her but the couple have issues to work through before they can have a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Don't miss it...I know you will enjoy it.

In writing a review, I’ve always had certain standards as to honesty but not hurtful or mean. Therefore, while the story-line of this book and the theme of a Mail Order Bride was excellent, there are errors that distract. A little word here or there is alright and I deal with it but when the sentence is “marrying a man for connivance shouldn’t have elicited…” it made me stop dead. Was that to be convenience or did the author mean connivance? This author’s stories always make you want to keep reading; will elicit a smile and sometimes a tear; and, feel good about an HEA. That being said, I enjoyed the book and a little proofing would make it great.

As Caroline Bishop travels West from Charleston to become a mail order bride to a man she has never met, she meets Adam Larsen, a handsome stranger, on the train. Somehow this enigmatic man draws her as no one else has. The feeling is mutual but unspoken.

When they both arrive at Angel Creek is it a blessing or a curse?

Caroline’s intended marriage is not to be but for reasons of his own, Adam feels he cannot pursue her. Will a Christmas miracle occur or has fate dealt Caroline another cruel blow?

If you enjoy sweet Christmas romance, you are sure to find out in this charming story.

This was a wonderful Christmas story! Caroline and Adam felt the sparks between them from the start, but timing was off. And when things looked like they were going their way, a bit courage was needed. Things ran off the rails again, but their hearts won! Sweet and heartfelt, I loved every minute <3

Caroline and Adam were meant to be. They fell in love quickly and needed to overcome the obstacles that life threw at them.
I so loved every minute of this book, I couldn't put it down.
Lily Graison, once again, gives us one of the best feel good books of the year.
