Dante’s relentless determination to bring home lost people and reunite families has driven him since the day his sister disappeared, twenty years ago.
After giving up on having a family, his life was consumed with finding those who are missing … until he meets Cassidy.
Cassidy wasn’t expecting Dante to walk into the bar where she works, but now that he’s entered her life, she’s unwilling to let him go. Once she learns Julie, the newest teenager Dante is searching for, is mixed up with vampires, she’s determined to help him find the girl.
During their hunt for the missing girl, Cassidy and Dante’s feelings for each other deepen, but can they survive the truth of Julie’s disappearance, or will rescuing her tear them apart?
Brenda K. Davies is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Vampire Awakening Series, Alliance Series, Road to Hell Series, Hell on Earth Series, and historical romantic fiction. She also writes under the pen name, Erica Stevens. When not out with friends and family, she can be found at home with her husband, son, dogs, cat, and horse.
This was another stellar offering by this author. Though this was not one of the more energetic entries the new characters are all really well drawn and presented. The storyline is different from anything we have seen in the past. The romance is also very different from the others, it felt a little rushed actually because it was like they met and boom they were together. I get that because they had seen it all before they could identify what was happening but still. Plus it is nice to see the last of the Byrne kids find their mates and live outside the family compound.
Dante Alvarez has a relentless determination to bring lost people home and reunite families ever since the day that his sister went missing twenty years ago. He gave up on one day having a family and his life has become consumed with finding the missing, until the day he meets Cassidy. Cassidy wasn't expecting Dante to walk into the bar and her life, but now that he's there she does not want to lose him. When she learns about him looking for Julie, a teenager who has disappeared after becoming involved with vampires, she is determined to help him find her.
The narrator, Tess Irondale is new but does a very good job of bringing the characters' personalities to life. This is good because one thing I do particularly like about this series is that the POV goes back and forth so smoothly between them and to have someone able to make the transitions sound so normal is great.
*Due to sexual content, violence, and language this book s recommended for readers 18+
Can we say amazing, well when it’s Brenda K. Davies amazing goes hand and and hand with her name. Dante, is kind of lost after losing his parents and sister. Losing his sister set him on the track he’s on. First he was a cop then he was changed so he could carry on his relentless pursuit of his missing sister. When he walks into the bar Cassidy sings at he’s thrown for a loop. He can’t stop thinking of her and she can’t quit thinking of him. Cassidy knows pretty early on what they are to each other.. this book gives you all the feels you expect with a Brenda K. Davies book. I recommend it to everyone. I love seeing all these amazing characters and can’t wait for the next book. Kyle!!
As always, I love the books in this series and this one didn't disappoint. Dante wasn't my favorite but grew on me as the book went on. Cassidy is adorable and I love her which didn't change throughout the book. I love the dynamics with Kyle and am truly looking forward to his book next. I also love when the other siblings make appearances, I wish Brian and Abby had big roles in this one but loved that Julian and Aida where in it a lot.
Amazing story. Loved learning about Dante's history. Even though they won't be the main focus in others books, I can't wait to see where Cassidy and Dante's story goes. I hope we hear that their family continues to grow. Their story unfolded so quickly & seamlessly that it seems that they've known each other their whole lives. I was happy to see Cassidy learn that even though she's never been a fighter, she has what it takes to do what she needs to. Loved the little Aida & Julian Easter Egg & excited for Kyle to mature & get his story!
I liked Cassidy’s story. It was sweet. I do feel like the stories have been become sweeter. Which is alright. I just feel like all the Byrne family has gone through it seems like every relationship should be a fight. Like I’m excited to see each of them find their mates, I just want more. I don’t understand how any of them could still have the position of I don’t like killing. It seems like at every turn their in danger. None of them should still have that position. It just makes them seem naive.
I really liked Dante though. Learning about him and why he went into being a PI looking for missing people. I loved his heart and determination to find others. And I really think, for me, Dante is what saved things. I love the typical banter between Cassidy and her brothers. That always brings a different dynamic that lightens things.
The other thing is I feel like things have become predictable. The ending fight scene was going at a normal flow when Dante got into situation that put him at risk of dying. Conveniently giving Cassidy the opportunity to get that extra strength boost.
I also kind of wish that one of girls had a human mate. The closest we got was Vicky with her mate being a Hunter. But since I am invested in the series and the Byrne family as a whole I know I won’t stop reading the series. So I will be waiting for Kyles story in Legacy.
As I mentioned in the review right before this one, it had been a long while since I had been able to step back into the Byrne family and was thrilled to be able to catch up. Following Julian's story, this book is focusing on one of the twins - who are the 2 youngest Byrne children (and let us not forget that there are 10 Byrne kids....is that crazy or what?)
Cassidy and Kyle (the twins) are living in Boston and Cassidy has a job singing in a club while Kyle bartends at the same club. This book has us meeting Dante who is already a vampire (that's a bit unusual, but I liked the way everything played out) Dante was a policeman for many years and after losing his sister (she went missing and was never found) he quits the force and begins to embark on a vocation of finding missing people (after being turned into a vampire).
Anyway, first things first. For some reason, the narrator changes for this book and I really didn't like the narrator that they switched to. It wasn't AWFUL, but it was noticeable. Okay, back to the book. I enjoyed almost everything about this story - and I REALLY liked Dante and Cassidy together - but the ending bothered me.
Without going into spoilers, let me just say that a certain person is forgiven WAY TOO EASILY. The reasons that are given to Dante are not sufficient, or at least they were not to me. There were some pretty severe consequences from the actions of one person and while I'm not suggesting that forgiveness NEVER happen....I just think that it was given much too quickly. But, that's just me.
So, it looks like there is only one Byrne kid left. I guess it's time to find out who the world has for Kyle. Man oh man, I can not believe that I have read this series through the marriage/mating of Liam and Sera and ALL of their 10 kids. Is that crazy or what?
This was a great book and has been the book I've been waiting for since we learned what Liam and Sera's kids names were (totally loved Cassidy only cause she has the same name as me at the beginning). I loved Cassidy, she was so sweet and devious (in a good prank filled way), plus she is such an amazing singer and sister. On the other hand, I also loved Dante and how determined he is in doing everything he can to find missing people since he was unable to find his sister so far. I also loved the storyline, it kinda reminded me of Abby and Brian's story in that they both were investigating a missing person case, the twists and turns of this story was fun to follow and I did love how everything turned out, including finding out what happened to Maya. The only part I didn't like about this book and the past few books was how we don't really get to see many of the past couples that much, because I would have liked to see them again and catch up with them on where there now. Besides that I did like this book and adored Cassidy and Dante on their journey, as much as it saddens me that it's the last book I can't wait to read Kyle's book next and see what trouble he gets into.
I have been a huge fan of the Vampire Awakenings series. This book was another awesome book written by Brenda. I loved the storyline and the chemistry between Dante and Cassidy. Dante had lost all of his family in one way or another. He never expected to fall in love and have another family until he met Cassidy. After losing his sister he decided to become a police officer. After he was turned he continued to search for missing people as a private investigator. He came across Cassidy's path while on a case and as they say the rest is history.
For some reason, through the whole book I kept hoping or wondering if Dante's sister Maya was with someone from the Byrne clan or the Stooges. In the end Dante gets some closure about Maya and that's all I'm saying lol. I can't wait for the final book, Kyle's story. I think it's going to be an epic end to the series. Only bad thing is waiting a whole year for it 😥!!
I really liked the way these characters are portrayed. I like the way Dante has been finding the lost children for 20 years... but he is so naive about so many things in the vampire world. I like that Maya is going to part their family for a long time to come.. and that she is now part of another vampire family.... I liked that Cassidy and Dante did not fight what was happening to them and it was a smooth transition to mated couple. I liked Preston and I hope he gets away from his horrible mother and meets Julie’s mum. I realised that I am still reading the Alliance series but I am just starting book 4 and I did not know that Cassidy’s sister, Willow now has a mate.... which is mentioned in this book, and Vicki and Nathan’s son has been born! In this book it is also hinted that Abby is pregnant... only one more book in this series..sad face... I have been happy reading about these families.

Cassidy and her Twin Kyle work in a bar. He’s a bartender and she sings. Dante was a police officer, now he just helps people find missing loved ones. He has a soft spot for what he’s doing. His sister went missing 20 years ago.
Dante has an instant connection to Cassidy, he can’t resist coming back to see her even with her brothers glaring at him.
Cassidy suspect’s Dante is her mate, she’s afraid but she’s also open to the possibility. The more time she spends with him the stronger their bond becomes.
This book has some mystery’s to solve, they do this together. A great addition to the series. I can’t wait for Kyle’s book. We get a glimpse of his struggles, being a purebred. We also get to see his mate, definitely something spooking her....
I love Cassie’s character. Everything about her. Her singing, her determination, her pranks, her take no mess attitude and her caring. I loved her relationship with her twin and her concern for him. I really liked the storyline. Dante’s history and what he is currently doing made for a really good story. The revelation about his sister was a good addition. I liked how there was not any drama really between Cassie and Dante or really much indecisiveness about their mate bond. The story flowed nicely and was written well. I cannot believe this series is about to come to an end. It’s been a favorite of mine for a long time. I am looking forward to the last release and know it will be a good one.
Dante and Cassidy... how sweet it is or what a disaster??? I love it when a born vamp finds her mate and poor Dante had no idea why he was so enthralled by Cassidy but he knew he couldn’t stay away from her, he also knew he needed to keep her safe and his world was anything but safe and he had a job to do... I have to say I felt sorry for Dante...lol he had no hope of keeping Cassidy safe but then Cassidy can hold her own that has never made it easy for the men in her life who like to baby her...lol including her twin but in this fascinating and lovable vampire family you learn to adjust when you meet your mate.
In order to find and rescue his sister, Detective Dante Alvarez had himself turned into a vampire. Since then he’s been helping others find their lost ones and in the process he’s found the special one for him.
Cassidy is a pure blood vampire raised in a large loving, protective home and is determined to help him even though it puts her a risk. But her knowledge of vampires, and his lack thereof, is too significant not to use.
Footnote: One more. Sigh.
Fave scenes: “I Will Always Love You”, Dante’s silver album, Cassidy’s brothers interrogating Dante and Dante realizing he had a family.
Dante and Cassidys story is amazing. But what to expect from book 11 from a series I already love.
Dante lost his family, so now as a vampire this ex-cop is a pi specializing in finding the missing (sounds like Brian might be an awesome partner). The singer at the Bar is who else but one half of our second favorite twins Cassidy.
He’s looking for someone, she’s senses he’s different... then two weeks, sibling craziness, vamp raves, fires, crazy ex vamps and vamp wars oh my!
Fast paced, engaging and you won’t regret a second of it!
Brenda has done it again!! I loved reading Dante and Cassidy's story. After losing his sister and becoming a vampire, Dante becomes a protector of sorts and meets Cassidy who is a born vampire from the Byrne family that we have loved to read about. They go through alot and discover they are mates. I am glad Dante get answers about his sister and Cassidy is there for him through it all. And what would you know that Kyle, the last of the unmated Byrne children, may have met his match in this book. Can't wait for the next book!!
Ahh Cassidy the queen of wars. The youngest of the original children. Her mate is the most caring out of all of them. There wasn't much suspense in this book. To me their bond wasn't all that powerful like the rest . Still a great book can't wait for Kyle's book. Hopefully we can see more of the kids children's I know it would be a lot of books. But I don't won't the story to just end with kyle
I love this series so much. It has been amazing to read the story of each member of the Byrne family. I will be sad to read the end in the next book but so lovely that everyone got a story. Cassidy was an amazing character from the beginning and I really enjoyed reading her story and seeing her fall for the dashing Dante. Another fantastic book from Brenda K Davies. She is one of my favourites.
11 books down and 1 to go.. I've been invested in this series from the beginning and this was a great addition to this series.. I love the characters and the story lines.. And I love the ever growing "family" and I wish we got more of them! All in all I really enjoyed this book and this series and I'm glad I got to read it and I'm looking forward to reading more!
Yep. Davies did it again! I don’t think I could ever tire of these stories.
Family, new found friends, mates, humor, heat, action...and duh-vampires. All blended into the perfect story!
Cassie and Dante-perfection! Also, can I just say how happy it makes me when past characters make an appearance? It makes me want to start completely over fro The beginning for one big binge read.
Another awesome book by Brenda K Davies! This book was so full of action. I love the connection between the Byrne siblings, they are so funny. I also loved Cassidy and Dante story. I'm not ready for the series to end yet but I know all good things must come to an end. Grab your copy and you won't be disappointed. Definitely a page turner.
I cannot believe this is book 11. Only one more story to read about this amazing family. I love the twins. Cassidy was such a strong women and it was really great to read that. My heart broke a little for Dante and Kyle. But the HEA was worth the journey to get there. Love when the other family members pop in.
I Loved it So much so happy that Cassidy and Dante found each other and really happy that dante's sister is still alive and can't believe that she is a vampire with kids and a husband all this time. Can't wait to read kyle and melanie book!!😍💖💖💖
Love, love this book. Probably my favorite book by Brenda K. Davies. Dante, oh Dante, so hot and a great character. And Cassidy is a brilliant female lead. Did I mention this book is HOT🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Well, it is. Grab it and enjoy!!! Go, hurry. You can thank me later.
Exciting read. Full of action. Loved the sibling pranks. I love this series. I hate to see it go. Loved Dante and Cassidy. There was so much in this book. I couldn’t put it down. It had me from beginning to the end. Awesomeness!
Another great story the author put together. Very interesting from the beginning to the end. Loved the characters and the outcome. Definitely a must get. I can’t wait until this is available on audible.
Normally I will do a re read of the book before hand but I didn’t this time. And wow it was like I never left I really loved Dante and Cassidy’s story. Once again beautifully written by an amazing author. Bring on Kyle story next I really love this series.
Action pack love story. The story line was very interesting, I’m happy Preston was a good guy. Kyle’s story is next and the last in the series. I can’t believe it’s ending😭 love this author!
