Sashimi is all about the quality of the fish. Only the best make the cut...

A storm was coming, brewing faster than a bubbling cauldron. People were missing; ghost towns popping up along coastlines. Strange creatures lurked in the shadows, the screams of their victims heard, but the carnage rarely seen. Still, the government and military refused to believe nature was their foe, insisting terrorism was to blame.

The once picturesque fishing town of Treacle was gone; lost to research after being commandeered by a General. Whatever the cause, the oceans had turned deadly, and the virus responsible was spreading inland. They needed a cure and fast. Unfortunately all they had learned so far was the mutations in some people were much more extensive than others.

A radical decision was called for, but would it be the right choice? Pick up a copy of Sashimi and find out for yourself.

About the author!

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.

Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.

To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn't open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn't need to be a reason or trigger.

People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don't ever let anyone tell you different.

I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes - I want them to know they are making a difference.

Thank you for reading and writing.

Sashimi is the second book in the Evil Sushi series by the very talented C.A King. I loved the first book, Evil Sushi, so much- it was such a fun read, so I was thrilled to find this had arrived on my Kindle. I did have high expectations, because the first book was so entertaining- and Ms. King didn’t let me down, delivering a worthy second instalment. I am excited to find that there will be a third book in the series, can’t wait to get my hands on ‘Wasabi’ (Book #3).
As with the first book, this has such an original and clever story, really unlike anything I have read before. It has elements of paranormal, sci-fi, horror, dystopia, action, adventure, thriller, mystery, and suspense. With environmental and political issues and agendas, discoveries, danger, good vs evil, small town setting, conspiracies, secrets, hidden agendas, ‘monsters’, and all the intrigue and dramatic developments that you would need to keep you hooked right till the very end.
Sashimi follows on from where we left off in book one- so if you haven’t read the first book yet, I highly recommend that you do so before diving into this book as there are important details there along with a continuing storyline- so you will need to know what happened in book one to fully appreciate and understand what’s happening in this instalment.
As expected from Ms. King, this was a really imaginative, wonderfully detailed, and well written story that wouldn’t let me put it down until I had devoured every word. I am excitedly anticipating the release of Book #3, Wasabi, so I can continue the story and find out how it all plays out in the end!
Definitely worth the read!

Thank you, C.A. King!

“Sashimi” is a riveting second book in the series, which I read literally in one sitting. The character development in this installment was even better than in the first - Aileen’s coming to terms with her brother being lost forever to the mutant virus was marvelously presented and made me respect her even more for a sober and brave decision she made. Sally and Rod’s relationship also evolved and took quite an unexpected turn as both realized they wanted different things in life. A fast-paced, original plot, a world on the brink of collapsing, mutants presenting humanity with new terms - all this made it impossible to put the book down. A great read for all fans of the genre.

Can't wait for the next installment! Only C.A. King could create a "tail" as "fishy" and wild as this one is!
Would highly recommend not only this book but this Author as well.

Sashimi follows straight on from Evil Sushi so ensure that you read Book 1 first. It is an imaginative, original, unique, and cleverly written thriller. Things do go bump in the night and hide in the shadows. They destroy people and leave ghost towns in their wake. It is compelling, and a well written story. C.A. has such diversity in her works that you never know what you will get but that is the beauty of her writing style. The story has a little bit of everything to keep you drawn to the pages, such as environmental issues, a few twists, and unexpected turns, danger and anger, secrets and lies, a pandemic and mayhem, mutations and so much more. This tale is a mixture of horror and paranormal, sci-fi, and thriller, mystery, and suspense. With this diversity of genres, it has something for everyone.
As with the first book I will not give anything away as I want you to envision each and every bit of it all on your lonesome.

The ocean and its inhabitants are still angry and humankind is on the receiving end of their vengeance. Picking up where Evil Sushi leaves off, Sashimi focuses on the humans fighting back. The military is at its wit's end and enlists the fishermen who discovered the demon fish to help save mankind.
Ms. King weaves a story of adventure, intrigue, and mystery which illustrates that the struggle for power will ultimately lead to the downfall of civilization. Betrayal rears its ugly head not only where the reader least expects it but also within the ranks of those trying to save the world.
I enjoy Ms. Kings characters, they are well-developed and interesting. This book is fast-paced and the story unique. Join the hunt for Sashimi and see what new twists CA King has up her sleeve.

This is the second in the series following on from Evil Sushi by C A King and I assumed would bring to a climax the drama that was generated in Book 1. Little did I know that there is a third in the series to come which I will have to wait for.

I actually found the book a little disappointing. The book started with the assumption that the reader had read Evil Sushi which in itself ended really without an ending and instead more created an expectation to get Book 2 in the series, Sashimi.

There really should be a disclaimer that you need to read Book 1 first, if you picked this one up, you would be very confused. The book proceeded to jump directly into the storyline without really a recap of Book 1 in any detail. Something as simple as a list of characters and who they were from Book 1 would have been useful but, having said that, I did catch up with the characters and storyline from Book 1 quite quickly.

The storyline seemed to drag on a bit while being full of action. The sexual overtones were interesting but did not really add anything to the story and there seemed to be a bit of padding with people’s reactions.

The narrative surrounding the wild waters and how Ned handled it was very good and made for some riveting reading.

Will I purchase Book 3 when it is available? Yes, just to see an end to Evil Sushi.

The town of Treacle is the centre of attention again, but this time for a completely different reason, it has become a ghost town, there is nobody living there anymore thanks to the mutants prowling the shoreline. The mutants which are attacking anyone they see, whose victims screams you can hear, but who are never seen again and the worst part is that the virus mutating them is now heading inland.

The only ones brave enough to stay in Treacle now are the researchers based there, they are desperately trying to find a cure for those affected, but the only thing they are sure of is that some mutations are worse than others.

As cases increase and people keep disappearing, something has to give and so a radical decision is made and a plan is put into place to try and find the answers humanity so desperately needs. So a General and his team set out to do just that, however their reigning theory of terrorism is not one that the rest of the crew share, they believe that it is Mother Nature who is behind it all.

As the team encounter issue after issue, will they be able to find their answers, or will the decision they made be the wrong one? This is a horrifying tale with plenty of adventure throughout, as time runs out for the human population and the mutants which feed upon them, keeping you enthralled hook, line and sinker.

I loved the first book in the series, and this one certainly had the same effect and appeal on me as the first in the series did! This one I think I may have actually enjoyed it a bit more in truth! This one had just as convincing depth to the story, and a world that is in chaos, and not sure when the end is in sight!

The story continues from the cause and effect of the first one. The strong suspense, and thrill continues in this one as well. I was completely captivated even more with the events that were happening as well as the strong character development that greatly added nicely to the surrounding story. This story is very fast pace and certainly not dull in any form. I loved this series and this installment. I am curious where this could go next, this is a series, as well as book not to be passed up by any means!

I love this author for all the characters and worlds they create. This series quickly became a favorite of mine. And this book alone truly captivated me! Highly recommend tp read this series if you have not had the pleasure yet, and this author too! High recommendation from me as its a must read!

What can I say....C.A. King is on a roll with her series Evil Sushi! I thought that book 1, Evil Sushi was awesome, but I think that Sashimi is just as good, if not better! C.A. King knows how to mix suspense with a love story, mystery, and a little bit of horror. In her first book of the series, Evil Sushi we are introduced to Rod, Ned and Sally, well the adventure continues with Rod, Ned and Sally. Ned is still a stubborn, know it all old fisherman, Rod and Sally finally tie the knot, and Evil Sushi is still lurking out there...somewhere. The human race is on the verge of extinction, and it's up to Rod and Ned to work with the government to figure out how to stop this "virus". Rod and Sally's marriage is already facing turmoil, and there's nothing Rod can do about it at this moment. The government is working with Rod, Ned and Sally to try to find a solution, but are they really looking for a true solution, or are they just using Rod, Ned and Sally. There's so much in this book that it is so hard not to spoil it!! I will definitely be reading the third book in the series, Wasabi.

This is the second book in the series and they just keep getting better. This book is a quick read and it will have you wanting to know more with every page. This is a different take on the genre than I am used to. Being as it is the second book in the series, I feel that you could read them out of order. You will be able to grasp the concepts of the book without feeling like you're missing anything. However, if you did read them in order, you would definitely have more insight into what is going on. I felt like this new take on things really made the genre feel vibrant and fresh to me again. I wasn't expecting some of the twists and turns that this book takes but I am completely here for it. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. This book offers suspense, horror, paranormal, and dystopian elements that I couldn't get enough of. I only wish that the book was longer. It was a great read and I can't recommend it enough. If you haven't read the first book in the series go and read it, you won't be disappointed.

This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. I never hesitate to pick up her books as I know what I am in for. One of the things I love about her books is her ability to pull me into the story with ease. Her writing style is such that it brings her books to a new level with each one that I pick up. This book is no different. This is the second book in the series which I enjoyed just as much if not more than the first. The characters are connectable and pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are creative, unique and I enjoyed how supportive of each other they are. They have great growth throughout the story as well. This is a story about finding a cure that could be impossible and making a huge choice that could affect everyone. You don't want to miss what happens in this book. It is worth the pick up. I really enjoyed reading this book and what it brought to my afternoon. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Absolutely fantastic! C.A. King did it again with another marvelous book! I enjoyed book 1 "Evil Sushi" but this second book is by far better in every aspect. I was pulled straight in, and captivated, from the first sentence. I love the characters and how you see them grow in this book. "Sashimi" is excellently written and a quick pleasant read. I could not put it down, and finished in one day! Every paragraph, no, every sentence has you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next big thing to happen! The author expands the story line of "what could happen" , the story evolves in such a magnificent way, and is unpredictable! As the book continues, you can see yourself saying "OMG, this could really happen if the circumstances were correct!". I adore the little bit of romance added to the intense thriller setting, it gives the book a nice refreshing moment of love, and a reason why the world is worth saving. I can not wait to read the next book in the series!

This book is the second in the Evil Sushi series and it was much better than the first. I found Evil Sushi just to be an introduction to the series while this book is much more action packed and more information included.

The people in the book now have some idea with what they are dealing with and the town that was once called “Treacle” is now a military base with the goal of ending this apocalypse that fish have caused.

We once again follow Rod, Ned and Sally along with Aileen, the head of the military team to find out information on the fish creatures. That is until another military base got attacked and the general takes over the Treacle base.

The military enlists Rod, Ned and Sally to help out with their mission. Rod as the tech person, Ned as captain of the ship and Sally as Aileen's helper. I recommend reading this book. It is different than anything I have read before making it unique and enjoyable!

Sashimi is the second book in the Evil Sushi series. You should definitely read this series in order, starting with Evil Sushi. It’s a nautical and food-themed apocalyptic story that’s original and captivating!

Sashimi centres around an expedition to find and potentially eliminate the monsters that emerge in Evil Sushi. There is plenty of seasickness on this voyage, as they battle unpredictably stormy conditions. There’s also lots of interpersonal drama which the close quarters of the ship amplifies. Every character has their own agenda and they jostle for power and control.

It’s great seeing the characters develop across this series. Rod and Ned are my favourites, and in Sashimi we see them showing off their skills at the helm of a ship and creating gadgets to help find the monsters.

Sashimi gets five stars from me.I’d recommend the series to readers who enjoy unconventional paranormal stories! But maybe don’t eat sushi while you read…

Sashimi is the follow-up of Evil Sushi, and picks up right where book one left off, so you will want to make sure you read that first! That being said, I enjoyed this one much more than the first one. I feel like the author and characters both evolved and improved in this book and I read it cover to cover in one sitting. I was intrigued with how much was going on, but not overpowering each other. You have some danger aspects, environmental issues, secrets, and mystery shrouded amidst a “pandemic” type situation. Evil Sushi had me interested, but not fully in love with this series, but Sashimi changed my mind fully, and I am completely onboard. This is definitely a series unlike any other, and worth the time to read it. I think this series will be interesting to people from all different genres and there is something for everyone. I will definitely be looking to read book 3, Wasabi

I honestly love this author and all the other books I have read done by her, so it was a no brainer to grab this one and read it. I do have to say I did not read the first one, but after reading this second book to this series I will for sure grabbing the first one. I was a little bit lost but was able to figure it all out of what was going on. I love the imagination and creativity in this story and the world that she creates. The chaos and suspense in this story really kept me wondering and wanting to read more, I really couldn’t put this book down. I needed to know what was going to happen right away. Highly recommend this book, a must read for sure. Cant wait to see what the author has in story next.

After reading the first book Evil Sushi, I just had to read the second and third installments of this series. This talented author has yet again wowed me with their creativity and originality. Reading one of this author's stories has never left me feeling disappointed, which is exactly what you want when finding a new author. In this sci-fi book it has suspense, horror, and with twists and turns that made me make quick works of this book. I will say that you read this series in order if you want a better feel of things that are going on. That being said you could still understand if you choose not to. I'm notorious for starting a series from the middle. So i was happy i started with book one for once lol. Off to book 3 can't wait to read it .

The first book in this series was quite enjoyable, so I was super excited to pick up the second installment! The style of writing is absolutely incredible and addicting. The author has fit so much suspense and detail in a shorter story without sacrificing the plot or characters. You may be able to read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend starting with the first book for the full experience and no confusion. I was astounded by the unpredictable twists and turns that left my mouth gaping in the middle of a waiting room! The characters are very well-developed and some of the most interesting people I’ve come across. If you enjoy unique thrillers, this is without a doubt your next series.

This is book 2 in the Evil Sushi series. It is a faced paced story following on from the first book so I recommend reading that first. This book is full of action and betrayals and knowing who can be trusted and not trusted.
The plot is basically about the world coming to an end being over run by sea mutants that are set on destroying the world and the human inhabitants. No one knows a lot about this species other than they are deadly.
Can the team find and destroy the cause of this virus? Will they find a cure to save people that are infected? And at times of danger and stress is the human race worse than the vicious species that are trying to take over?

Sashimi is the second book in the Evil Sushi Series by C. A. King and continues where the first one left off. I highly recommend reading the first book in the series, Evil Sushi, before reading Sashimi as there are elements in the first that are necessary in understanding this one. C. A. King continued building the characters introduced in the first book. Relationships grow and evolve and the humans decide to fight back against the evil wreaking havoc on the world. But, the evil won't give up so easily. There are so many elements in this book, but none of them overshadowed the others. C. A. King has delivered yet again and I can't wait for the third book.

Sashimi (Evil Sushi #2) by C.A. King

This is another great read by the author. This is the second book in the Evil Sushi Series. Sashimi picks up after the first book and it's a must read.

Alieen is one of the survivors of Evil Sushi and is fighting them again. When another branch of the government takes over her base things might not go as smoothly as she wants. The quote I chose for Alieen is: “I should mention the shoreline is creeping inland. I've been watching it every day. That could be a problem. Strange weather is being reported from all over. We should keep an eye on it.”

Highly recommended for Horror lovers.

I jumped right in to see how Sashimi, the second book in the series, continues the story that started in Evil Sushi and I wasn’t disappointed! The author does a wonderful job with the characters and scenes, so that I am easily able to connect with them, understand what they’re thinking, and I quickly get hooked into the story again! I liked seeing the relationship between Rod and Sally develop and see the characters grow. The story moves along at a good pace, has some danger, issues with the environment, mutants, and so much more. Sashimi really has multiple aspects that I think many readers would enjoy.

I really enjoyed this book however through no fault of anyone but my own, I did not realize that this was book 2 in the Evil Sushi series. I felt a little lost but was definitely able to still enjoy due to it being such a well written book. If you are looking for a thrill and suspense this is a great book that will deliver! It gave me strong Siren tv show vibes in one sense and I just really was into it as much as I could be! I am going to be reading the first because that way as I continue I will feel as though I've got the whole story down! A first for me from this author but clearly not my last! Very fun read!

Sashimi was a great continuation of Evil Sushi. I liked how it showed all aspects of human nature. Arrogance in thinking we can outsmart and power over everything else, the will to survive, jealousy, grief, etc. I was truly surprised by Sally’s actions this time around. But it goes to show you that everyone is capable of the worst things possible. Aileen coming to terms with her brother predicament and doing what she thinks is best was great. I think if anyone survives this thing it’ll be her, Ned and Rod. The general is ridiculous. This was an entertaining and quick read. I can’t wait for the next part.

I was so excited to start reading this book after I enjoyed the last one so much. And this one really lived up to my expectations. I was pulled straight into the story so effortlessly and was hooked straight away. I loved the characters in this book. They all seemed to have such a depth about them and it made them more relatable.
I thought the author did an amazing job with the story. It was well written, exciting and exactly what I have come to expect when reading on of her books. This is a brilliant book and I can't wait for more.

I made the mistake of reading book 2 before book 1 thinking it was a stand alone series. Once I realized my mistake I went back to read book one. I highly suggest reading Book one first as you will so lost reading book 2. The thrills in this book had my skin crawling. I love sushi but man, this had me questioning my favorite food group! This series is turning out to be so good and I'm not much of a fan of Zombies, but are these really zombies is a good question to ask yourself! Can't wait to read the next one!

If you read my review on the first novel in this series, you would know that I was not a huge fan of the character development. Well, let me tell you, after reading the second I am impressed. The character development I wanted was there, I just had to wait!

Still an incredibly original storyline as the first in this series was. You definitely need to read the first in order to understand the second, but you will not be disappointed. Very fast read, and the author keeps you on your toes throughout.

Once again this author gives us a riveting story. The character development is fantastic, and the story was written so perfectly that I can’t wait for the next installment in this series. This plot was not only original, but was fast paced, and full of drama, some mystery, some betrayal, and so much more. Starting where the previous installment ends I would personally recommend reading the fantastic series in order. But trust me when I tell you that you won’t be disappointed in reading the whole series.

Sashimi continues the dystopian Evil Sushi series. How will the world respond to the newest threat from Sashimi? All over the earth new infections and mutants are emerging. Scientists are trying to discover a cure while the government and armed forces are trying to protect human life. In this second book in the series I had a hard time following the story as it jumped around quite a bit. I needed to backtrack a couple of times to figure out exactly what was going on. That said, it's definitely an interesting storyline and I'm excited to see where the final book takes us.

The second book in the Evil Sushi series. These books are quick and interesting reads. They are VERY unique. I'm not sure you would be able to find another book series like this. For me, that is a great thing. There's nothing like diving into a story where everything is new.
This book is even better than the first. I do think you should read them in order for the best results. The plot is full of twists and things I did not expect to happen. Scientists and the government are hard at work trying to eliminate what transpired in book one. I am excited to read the third.
