Don't read this book if you're expecting to learn everything there is to know about the Kansas City Chiefs, Super Bowl champions of 2020. This consists of short biographies of those in the Chiefs' organization, full of statistics, honors, and both personal and sports history. I believe it's appropriate for all ages that might enjoy knowing historical and current information.

Do you have to be a football-nut to enjoy this one? By all means, NO! Actually, I'm related to several generations of those and they probably know all this information and more. But for those of us that don't watch many games, but still "cheer" for the Chiefs, it's just enough to bring us up to date with the names of the current team members, etc. For those of us "of a certain age", it was also a walk down memory lane, remembering the players we knew when they first came to KC and those our children talked about when in they were young. I feel much more informed now (I did watch the Super Bowl this year, too!)

A nice introduction to the Chiefs. They may be technically a Missouri team, but many us Kansans also have rooted for them both before AND after they won this year!

Fun read, especially for longtime Chiefs fans. Any attempt to list the "greatest" invites discussion. The book is organized by position and most of the obvious choices are included. Notably absent are tight end Fred Arbanas, who played with only one good eye during the Chiefs first Super Bowl years, and Jerrel Wilson, who punted for the Chiefs for 15 years and earned the nickname Thunderfoot. Ed Podolak warrants a mention for his amazing performance in the 1971 Christmas Day playoff game vs Miami. Only two wide receivers are included. Otis Taylor of course, and Tyreek Hill. How about Stephone Paige and Henry Marshall?

I get it, not every Chiefs notable can be covered. An enjoyable read and worth adding to your library Chiefs fans.
