I am just loving this UF! The twists and turns this plot takes! I love how I cannot predict a thing! I am so invested in this story. So much is happening with the Watch, and the Shimmerman and these conflicts aren’t the only ones! Then there’s is the angst and tensions with Henri( this relationship hurts my heart). I have so many questions about Kris and Bres and the others… I NEED to know what is going on. I’ve really enjoyed this series so far, and I am really hoping Kat Justice gets a win soon. She needs it. This is yet another well written, well-paced, fantastic read that I have fallen in love with.

Life isn't easy for Kat Justice, and it just got a whole lot worse. This was a one-sitting read for me, I just couldn't put it down and admit I was a little disappointed when I realised there were no more pages left to read. Another fantastically written story by author, Debbie Cassidy leaving off just after book one ends. As usual, the authority figures have their own plans, and they need Kat to help them fulfil them but there is more going on than she realises and she has to fight for the answers. But it's okay cause she has her team to help her out along the way. Secrets are unravelled, mysteries are solved and all in all, this is a well-rounded book and I honestly can not wait for the next one in the series. I thought I loved Indigo, that was till I met Kat. And just because I need to get this out there, I'm totally Team Henri!

This well-written, engrossing storyline will have the reader glued to the pages with anticipation and questions. Our kick-ass heroine has her pick of hunks who are attractive and interested. There are some developments, some good, some heartbreaking, but hope must remain in reach. Kate and crew have a dangerous journey ahead filled with action, adventures, violence and blackmail, and not to mention sizzling sexual tension. Wonderful read and I loved it. Debbie Cassidy has done it again! I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Well of course we are now going to add a whole other layer of BS to Kat's plate in this book of the series. While this was still a good read, I can't help but wish we could just dig deeper into the meat of the story already. I mean it seems like we are tip toeing all around it and its just infuriating. Kat makes a trip to the demon realm in order to retrieve a "stolen" item and save her grandfather.. only it turns out that everything is a dang lie and it doesn't seem like Kat and her team are ever going to get to the bottom of what is really going on. Meanwhile back at the home front someone is "setting up" the shifters as well as kidnapping them.. but for what purpose.

In all honesty it just seems like everyone is a bad guy in this story lol. Also, I'm still not exactly sure what is up with the "love" interests? Not only is Kat super confused but she drags the reader right along with her. I'd really like to see what is going to happen and where this is headed... I'm just not sure I'm down to get strung along for an inordinate amount of time... I'll probably come back to this series in a few.

3.5* still struggling a bit with how much of a slow burn this is. So far there are a lot of confused feelings and a kiss, plus I am not sure who the potential MMCs are as yet. I think I know at least 2, but other than kissing one nothing has really happened with any of the others.
Whilst I like my romances to have a lot of plot and character development, the romance/spice and romance development part of this is a lot slower than I would like.
I am still very much enjoying being in the world created, as I find it really fascinating and interesting.

The secret about Kat's blood came to light thanks to the man in the hat. Now the council is on her, and the only way to save herself and her grandpa is to fulfil the mission that the council gave her in Demonica. But things aren't what they seem, and Kat needs to decide if she is willing to sacrifice thousands for the sake of one.

Although I wasn't sure about this series after book 1, I decided to continue to see how it was going. My expectation aren't as high as the ones for Chronicles of Midnight, but I'll still continue reading it.

I have so many thoughts and feelings about this book! Henri, Bres, Kris... agh!!! And that is just the tip of the iceberg! The Watch.... the more we learn about them, through this series and the Nightwatch Academy Series featuring Kat's cousin, Indigo, the more I dislike them. A part of me feels like hard choices make for hard people, but there seems to be an institute of corruption brewing the realm over, though there are quite a few good souls scattered throughout.

I am enjoying the dynamic of this universe and the complex narrative that is being crafted, though I did find it a bit hard to fall into this book in the beginning, despite the fact that it picks up almost exactly where Book 1 leaves off - bunny slippers and all. The first 40% felt rushed, or crammed, then it smoothed and caught traction, infusing more emotion and angst into the subplot as it went along. Over all, this is a decent Urban Fantasy and while it is NOT necessary to read the Nightwatch Academy Series in order to understand THIS series, it does allow a fuller picture to be drawn and helps fill in some of the blank spaces in the world building.

*I was privileged to receive an ARC copy of this book and I am happy to share my honest opinion*

Pros:

~ Subplot(s) make the tension rise and complete the story.
~ Tris.... who doesn't want a gargoyle companion?
~ Book 1 felt like it was going to be ALL about the Shimmer Man, Book2 makes it clear that the issues are deeper and farther reaching than that.
~ We learn more about Bres, who he is, why he is there and what he is doing.
~ Character development.

Cons:

~ Hard to get into in the begining.
~ Henri is breaking my heart. It has to happen, but.... ugh...
~ There are moments when almost too much is going on.

Perspective:

First Person, Single POV

Ending Type:

Pseudo Cliffhanger

Rating:

R for violence, but can easily be acceptable for older teens.

Romantic Dynamic:

M/F... but do NOT ask me who. 🤷‍♀️

Character Age Range:

20's+

I don't even know where to start besides wow. I am in love with this series. Kat is one of my favorite characters by Debbie Cassidy and that is saying something. Each time you open one of her books, you know you are in for a treat and this book does not disappoint.
This book will have you turning each page and before you know it, you will be at the end wondering what happened.

Wow! This is a fab continuation of this series. It’s exciting and fascinating as there is more character development and you find out more about them, the storyline is fast paced and continues to grow and once I picked this up I just could not put this down. The author has done a great job with the world building and you get totally lost and drawn into the story and you feel as if you are there. It’s a damn good series that I would definitely recommend!

I adore and love this series! Its so bad ass. lol. Debbie never fails to write very unique gifted characters and this one has all the vibes to it! i love EVERY single character!!. Great chemistry and the story is the best! It keeps you interested, laughing, and swooning at the right times! This is book two and follows up right from the ending from book one so you must read in order. Kat, our main heroine not only does she needs to investigate who is killing and hurting supernatural beings, but her grandfather life is on the line. And if that's not enough, she needs to deal with her feelings shes been having for her sidekick Henri.. The series is not over! The ending left me sad but hopeful. I hope my Kat gets her HEA with her sexy golem...until then, she still needs to save the world lol. #BestillMyheart#Henri#goals

Great continuation

The book is rather good. I just finished and I couldn’t think of anything to complain about.

I appreciate how Kat handles herself. For once a heroine didn’t do something stupid and I can’t expound on that without a spoiler to ruin the story for people.

I like how Kat is strong but not OP as some other heroines are. Though there aren’t many actual fight scenes demonstrating her skill level but what you do get is a solid fighter.

Karishma isn’t a great addition to the characters and I really liked her. I liked the reveals as well they sort of helped flesh out Jay as a character which was kind of lacking in the first book. Most of the characters get a little sharper in this novel and I appreciate that most you get a chance to sort of connect to most of them.

A lot of what I would review I don’t want to say because I think it would ruin the book for people. In closing, I think most people will enjoy this novel. The subplots seemed solid, the writing was well paced and fluid, and if their are errors they didn’t slow my reading down so they were negligible.

Enjoy

3/5 - Not my cup of tea

It was hard to decide what to rate this.

Overall, it was an entertaining book. We get to know more about the world and the characters' secrets, and there was lots of drama.

However, I didn't like the FMC's romantic relationship(s). She's super thirsty, eyeing pretty much every man in the book, while pining over the love interest. That might not bother some people, but I don't like when a character is disloyal to their love interest. Granted, they're not together yet, but they've acknowledged that they want and care about each other. The push and pull of "will they" or "won't they" get together is exciting, but the disloyalty sours it for me.

With Kat’s secret out there it’s not long until everything goes sideways and she has to look at what she’s willing to do to keep her friends and family safe.
Lots of revelations and character growth. Hard decisions are made and trust is formed within the team. It’s not without consequences and leads to new trials for the next book!

This is a great sequel to the first book. The ghosts are happy now that the shimmer man is out of their domain. There is a problem with the wolves. The council is trying something very underhanded. Kat goes to Demonica at their behest. All in all this is a very interesting book.

And the plot thickens! Kat definitely has her work cut out for her! I think the watch bigwigs need to be brought to justice...no pun intended! I would like to see them go down. I am a bit torn about Henri but I can understand. I LOVED reading this book!

There is so much more to Kat and her friends. Each one of them has an interesting backstory and mysteries to solve. I liked learning more about the Deamonica world and I am even more curious about Kris.
