Shay Graves is settling into life in Mystic Key, enjoying her new friendship with the town’s most eligible bachelor, and trying to mend the strained relationship with her twin brother. Things are finally looking up in Shay’s world and she thinks she has everything under control … until a nosy elf claims she’s being stalked, and a shifter is found murdered after a heated argument with several people on social media. Throw in a teenage daughter with unpredictable magic and a ghost who is as chauvinistic as he is egotistical, and Shay suddenly has her hands full. When an old friend becomes the prime suspect, Shay decides to team up with an unlikely source in the hopes of clearing the vampire’s name and bringing the real killer to justice. But as Shay gets closer to uncovering the truth, the killer sets their sights on her. Will she be able identify the real murderer in time to save herself and her friend? Or will evil prevail in this deadly game of cat and mouse?
Misty Bane is the author of Paranormal Cozy Mysteries filled with witches, shapeshifters, snarky ghosts, and a talking animal or two.
Misty is a Pacific Northwest native currently living between the mountains and the beach with her husband, three children, and golden retriever, Lou. She sometimes fantasizes about living in a world where she could clean the house and whip up a four-course meal with just a twirl of her finger.
Another fun read in the new series Witches of Shadow Lane created by Misty Bane. The characters all have such fun personalities and I enjoy every one of them. There is a murder that occurs and Misty along with her hunky druid do some sleuthing of their own to find out who murdered the local slime-ball. Everyone could be a suspect and even though Brock's ghost appears to Misty and her family, he doesn't have a clue as to who could harm him, continuing to be delusional in his after life. Lots of humor, a little bit of romance and of course mystery. Cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining story line. Shay Graves is it cosmetologist for a funeral home. She owns a funeral home with her husband in the human world. Until she caught him cheating and she divorced him and decided to move back to her hometown where her family lives. Her hometown is a little island off the northwest coast of the US. It is also a island of supernatural. Only people who are supernatural can go there. It is a magical island and a tropical paradise for supernatural to visit. Always a warm and balmy tropical climate. Her family all live on shadow Lane and own the local mortuary and graveyard. Her family are all witchs. Follow along as she helps her brother who is a deputy sheriff solve mysteries crimes on the island. Her daughter just came into her new powers. Her best friend is an angel. And a possible new man in her life owns the local newspaper. Also you have to watch out for her great aunt who is a bit out there and has A miniature dragon as a familiar. Check it out
It’s been a couple of months since Shay moved back to Mystic Key, the paranormal island where she grew up. When she is instrumental in the finding of the body of a rather annoying shifter, she decides to investigate, because the police chief would rather take the easy path than to do any real police work. With the help of her friends, relatives, and a rather handsome Druid reporter, Shay is quickly finding evidence about the perpetrator, not all of it helpful! A quick, cozy read, set in a delightful town, with a cast of quirky, intriguing characters. No guts, gore, or terrible danger, and the romance is lovely and slow-burn (appropriate for a recent divorcée 😉).
I got a Kindle Unlimited book by Misty Bane. There were 3 books, each the first in a series by this author. First book was the first in the Witches of Shadow Lane series. I absolutely loved it so immediately ordered the next one. Normally, I only read police procedural murder mysteries but wanted something lighter. This series is it---- clever dialogue, entertaining characters, and paranormal situation is written beautifully! It is a delightful, fun reading event and I plan to read the entire series! Definitely worth while!
I'm loving this series! Shay and Ember are settling in well on Shadow Lane with a fun, motley assortment of family and friends who have their backs no matter what. Good thing, too, 'cause this well-imagined romp includes a murder, a near miss, an attempted murder, snarky familiars...and a fainting goat?! And these are just some of the highlights in this enjoyable read.
Ok so like I said in my review for Witches of Shadow Lane book 1, that I finished early early this morning, I really didn't have time to read that book let alone this one, which I just finished. But I just couldn't help myself 😅🙈 it was just so great. Clean, funny, and as always charming. I recommend this read for young adults and up.
This was a decent supernatural who done it. This was a perfect continuation of the series and again it could be read as a stand alone volume. Misty Babe mixes the generations expertly. It is fun discovering how each generation of the witch family devlop their powers.
There's no real effort to create leads or work on a plot so the resolution comes from nowhere and is over in a couple of sentences.
Cozy paranormal mystery it maybe but it's not doing the genre any favours. The characters aren't exactly formed, seem to have unnecessary quirks that have no relevance to how they behave and are inconsistent. Errors again.
Witchy Orders is great fun for Shay & Ember.4.8 stars
This is a fun and quick story. Lots of interesting murders and of course Shay and Roman assist the cops in solving them. Ember gets her first wand and familiar. This is really a comfortable story because the family and friends all work and play together. You'd better get reading so you can catch up!
This book was interesting, fascinating and always mystical. There was always a character whom was always in trouble. I enjoyed all of the characters and their unique personalities. This story was a fast read.
Shay is settling in to her new life when there’s another murder and she’s determined to find the killer before her friend is blamed for it. It’s a great book with plenty of humor, mystery and adventure.
This book is a delight to read as the main character begins to fall in love & settles into her life on an island for paranormals. Looking forward to more in this series
Men Are Being Attacked by Something with Purple Venom
This book has interesting characters. Some are in Shay's family. Ember has some trouble with her magic. I also like Roman who rescues Shay several times.
Great fun second book. Lots of twists and turns to keep things interesting. Mom and daughter both learning to use their magic, as well as mom helping to figure out who the murdrerer is.
I love the paranormal town full of creatures who live the most harmonious existence that can be achieved. Witches, vampires, and newly invented creatures populate this cozy book that is part comedy, part mystery and exceedingly f
Shay just can't help herself. When a murder comes to town she is the first to investigate. One man dead, another critically hurt and the clues tell a different story than what the police thinks. It takes Shay and Roman to unravel the clues and dig into past history to find the killer.
Still loving Shay and the Grave family. Along with all the friends that have come along. These are really good quick reads and it will take you no time to fall in love with everyone in these books.
