Love will hide from you even when you are running scared from it.
Harper Kennon is a rising star in her career but she is almost thrown off track when her daughter’s father reveals that he is secretly married. Pregnant and depressed she throws her self into her business, forcing herself to become one of the best public relation specialists in the country.
She swears off love forever because she never wants to be caught up again but all that is interrupted when she meets billionaire bad-boy Jaxon Cain.
Jaxon has only two things on his mind, making money and sleeping with models. When his father announces that he is running for senator, Jaxon is forced to clean up his bad boy image to help his father win.
But after a crazy night at a bar lands him in jail, he has to make serious changes that lands him in Harper’s office, begging for her help
Initially Harper hates him but as time goes on they become close. But Jaxon has lots of bones in closet that all come falling out as Harper digs deeper. His family is riddled with dark secrets and drama that threatens their billion dollar empire but Harper is on a mission to help Jaxon save it.
This is a standalone romance that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Are you ready for the emotional rollercoaster?
Harper is brilliant at her job, but unlucky in love; swearing off men. In comes sexy, filthy rich Jaxon and all bets are off. It started off rocky, but their love story was sweet. They were really down for each other. The Cain family man! Whew! They really went through it! Although my blood pressure was up most of the story, I loved it. Great job!
But this book needs a new editor like yesterday. I hate to be reading a story and lose track of the story because of misspelled words or wrong names being used. I may try another book because I see plenty of potential.
OMG!!! I absolutely LOVED this tory. It is ME! I am a PR Rep and my area of expertise is damage control, a fixer. I have completely sworn off men after 10 years, a wonderful son, and a failed relationship. Anyway, Harper is inspiration for me to keep grinding and waiting for my Prince Charming. I love Harper because she is a bad B*tch that takes no mess. Did I say she was me? She is not moved or bothered by Jaxon and his billionaire status. He needs her to help his image and to give him a reason to love, really love. If you want a dog chase cat and ca not need dog love story, this is it. It shows successful men and women who are all about their careers and when they love, they love hard. This was one of the best standalone's I've read. I LOVED IT!! My new fav author is N'Dia Rae!
Good story line however, the excessive use of the "b" word and the "n" word was totally unnecessary. The way the men in this book consistently called the women out of their names showed so much disrespect. Clean up the language so you can appeal to a larger audience.
Great story line. What I disliked was the excessive use of the "b" and 'n" words. The male characters were very disrespectful toward most of the women in the book. Clean up your language so you can appeal to a larger audience.
This was one rollercoaster of a story, the writer takes off like 🚀 rocket and it's on from there. I loved the characters in this story and I also loved that we get two very smart women ,who not only can fix your problems but can give you the business as well. This was good entertainment and the pace never slowed. Now there were quite a few typos along the way and they do lessen the scene. Also it would have been nice to get a little look at the relationships away from work. But still ,this was good.
This would have been an awesome read, if I wasn’t constantly trying to figure out what the writer was trying to say. Too many times the sentences made no sense. Getting the character’s names wrong had me scratching my head. If we take the time to find your books and read them, the least you could do is present a professional book. I, as well as many others, want to continue to support your art. Please do better? It’s all we ask. Just do better.
I guess you could say my favorite character was Jaxon then Harper they had many dimensions to their CHaracter,. In The end everyone got what they deserved especially Amber and Isaiah, how could Amber be so trifling she should have gotten help I love the story. Some love drugs more than life. Cole was very pleasant Amber was home all day and could not even clean up. Oh well I would love to see a other part
This book just goes to show that drama happens everywhere, no matter if rich or poor. This family had all the money in the world, but none of them were happy. This book was action packed! Lies, blackmail, cheating, you name it, it was in here. Jaxon managed to grow up and mature with Harper by his side. But beware: you will have to wade through a ton of editing errors.
I loved this story because it showed that even tho you have everything you still have love for the ones that don’t the father was not a good person to others not even his family but he went to meet god anyway I would recommend this book to those that love to read about the love a person with everything can show love for the less fortunate
N'Dia Rae is definitely a dramatic, soap opera spun author. Her plot writing is interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Although I don't think I've read any of her books where at least two of the main characters did not die. Well kudos to you Ms Rae
I like how close Harper, Lauryn, and Prince were and they always had each other's back. I wish I could say the same for the Cain family when Isaiah was determined to destroy the family from the inside out. He was just as evil as Denzel even though Uncle Derrick tried to see the good in both his brother and son. I hate that Cole got caught up in Amber and Isaiah's mess but I'm glad that Lauryn is the light at the end of his tunnel. I'm glad that Harper let go of the fear caused by Asahd and actually gave Jaxon a chance to love on her and Ivy. I'm glad that Jaxon stepped up to the plate and got custody of Tay and now Jaxon, Harper, Ivy, and Tay are going to be a happy family.
I love standalones. It was a lot going on but it was a nice flow to all of the storylines. I love Jaxon and Harper together. Tay was hilarious. I felt bad for Cole, he definitely got the short end of the d see stick.
This was a good story. I enjoy how her books are not predictable they each have their own unique tale. I gave it 4 starts because it seemed to end abruptly. But great read
The book could have been much better, if the authors took the time to dead and edit properly. The story line was decent. Take pride in your work and stop rushing to put just anything out here for a quick dollar.
I really enjoyed this Book. Had it's Roller coaster moments when I wanted to Smack a character. Lol. But I really enjoyed it. Will be checking more work from This Author.
So glad Jaxson and Harper connected and saved each other in a sense. Cole finally saw the light. It would be good to see a story about him and Lauryn. So Isiah and Amber got there’s in the end.
I really enjoyed this book. I am new to the author Chanel Q. N'Dia and Chanel did a great job on their collaboration. I will be reading more books from both authors.
