I still think the guys are adorable, but listening to all of the books back to back made it feel like too much. I should have broken it up a bit more.

This is a great deal to get all the main stories together, plus the prequel AND a new short story that's set after the third book!
I got this just to read the new story, and Cooper, Sawyer, and Jackson are still just perfection together! I love all their different personalities and how they all just work as a threesome so well together. These three love each other completely, and I think I could read about them for a very long time.
I also enjoyed this series in audio format - it's probably my favorite thing from Kenneth. His narration of Cooper is just a joy!

On my way to finishing all the series I've never finished...
So sweet to see the guys all find their happy endings. And it's worth buying the bundled audiobook version to get the tale of them taking their trip to Orlando!

Including this one I have read 30 books by this author so its pretty safe to say I am a fan. In fact I have read this series previously. I loved it then, so when I got the chance to listen to the audible version I was very excited. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. In fact I felt the same joy in watching Jackson, Sawyer, and Coopers journey as I did the first time.
Sawyer and Cooper are a family. They stick together no matter what and love one another deeply. They are also both pups/subs. As you can imagine this makes things a little more difficult but they find ways to allow both of them to get what they need. They take turns topping and being pups. What they both want more than anything though is a master that can love them both.
Jackson is a dog trainer. He is also very vanilla. A mistake in an advertisement on social media leads to Sawyer and Cooper emailing him. He is drawn to them immediately and it doesn't take long for him to start falling in love. Cooper's high energy, very horny, yet innocent personality and Sawyers calm and cuddly personality are the perfect fit for him. He even loves their pups!
It is pretty impossible to not love these three men. They are all so very different and yet together they just work so well. Many times when I'm reading a romance with multiple partners I get the feeling that one just doesn't fit as well. I don't have that same feeling here. You can see the love when they are all together and also as couples.
Kenneth Obi did a great job with the narration. All three men had very distinct voices. Jackson's is downright swoon worthy, Sawyer's is very sweet, Cooper's was a little too child like for me but I have to admit it fits him very well.

I’ve reviewed each book individually so this is more general thoughts.
In FAMILY BY FATE we meet Cooper and Sawyer, a young couple who have each other’s backs having been shunned by their families for being gay. They enjoy puppy play and they’d like an older man to act as their dom / master / puppy owner. In THE ACCIDENTAL MASTER, Cooper and Sawyer connect with Jackson who takes on the role of master and the couple morph into a thruple. All three have distinctively different personalities with Cooper’s boisterousness balancing out Sawyer’s quieter nature in both human and puppy roles. In MASTER BY CHOICE, MASTER BY FATE, and FAMILY IN LOVE, we see the thruple settle into their roles and routines. Jackson, unbelievably, never puts a foot wrong despite having no experience with subs or puppy play. These largely cover relationship dynamics and milestones, they’re not very plot-driven. I found the books sexy and sweet, although Cooper was far too childish for my taste. Given the beautiful nature of dogs, I shouldn’t have been surprised that the puppy scenes were tender and good for the soul, I just wish they’d been more of the focus. Veteran audio narrator Kenneth Obi did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life, but I disliked the high-pitched, childish tone he chose for Cooper. While it understandably matched and differentiated the character, it was uncomfortably close to being a ‘little’.

Narration: Kenneth Obi…umm loved his voice! He had a great flow and moved the story along wonderfully. I had goosebumps doing the sexy-times as he read. I’ll be looking for more of his narrations after writing this!

Ugh, who do I start with? I loved all three of these guys. Cooper was an energetic guy and pup who stole some of the scenes with his cheeky behavior. But Sawyer stole my heart as the stable, quiet guy who just needed cuddles. Then Jackson, the Master who had no idea he had a hidden kink!
I laughed so hard listening to the debacle that was Jackson’s sister mixing up the Facebook adds. But he meets Sawyer and Cooper in the whole mess.
Sawyer and Cooper are younger guys trying to make their way through life with no family help. Sawyer’s dad had him out of the house the day after graduation after trying when he turned 18 during school, so he knew it was coming. Cooper had no idea and was blind-sided by his nasty parents, who acted like everything was perfect up to the minute they threw him out because of his puppy kink.
I think Jackson was the perfect option for them as a dog trainer! Cooper was just too filled with energy for anything less lol. The story is a gradual build into a wonderful three-way relationship. Even the boys had started as friends for years through high school before finding themselves as family and lovers after graduation. And they folded Jackson into the relationship in a very real and believable way.
Oh, and the sex scenes…there are a lot of them, and they’re smoking hot!

Curiosity, more than anything else, pushed to me to read this intro to puppy play. It's not a kink that I've had much exposure to. The story is pleasant enough. Not much happens - a guy gets involved in the scene almost by accident as he becomes a master to two human pups. We see all three guys navigating this new relationship and becoming committed. This is fine as far as it goes but for a novel that explores alternative relationships and lifestyles, some of the language choices jar. I listened to the audio and if I got money for every time the word 'dirty' appeared in a sexual situation, I'd make a noticeable amount. The apparent titillation value of 'dirty' and 'naughty' didn't fit the characters at all - they all appeared happy with their identities and actions. So, am I as a reader meant to join in instead? As a member of the queer community, this jarred. It's not my kink at all but equally, it isn't something that deserves this treatment.

Enjoyed this series and highly recommend it. For anyone involved with/interested in human puppy play or D/s relationships this series is for you! Jackson has a thriving dog training practice. Young subs Sawyer & Connor are actively looking for a Master to take ownership and give them their pup identities they crave. How the three of them connect and evolve to their HEA ending gives this series a lot of weight. Since you get the entire series (over 20 hours total) for one credit on Audible, it's a great value along with being a highly entertaining read. Plenty of sexy time. And Kenneth Obi's superior narration really brings the plot and character development to life.

Jackson's life turns a little sideways when his sister makes a mistake when posting about his dog training center. As he is polite, he replies back to Cooper and Sawyer and something begins between the three of them.
Cooper and Sawyer just want to find their Master and when Jackson replies, Cooper senses there is more to Jackson and talks with him.
As these three find their own way, you will laugh (especially at Cooper's antics), sigh in happiness, and realize that sometimes the best things in life begins with a mistake. Just don't let Jackson's sister hear that.

This is everything I love from M. A. Innes. Sweet sexy characters with deep complex emotions learning and growing both alone and together. From learning what their kink is to finding their perfect match or in this case matches is a beautiful and nerve wracking experience, especially in Jackson’s case since he wasn’t even aware on many points. Even after reading the whole series Sawyer is still my favorite. I know we will probably see them again some time down the road and I can’t wait.
