After marrying Molly and living through the sports and activities of their children for several years he reignited his passion for writing with the publication of the popular short story collection, "Blood Verse" in less than a year. He is known for writing riveting action scenes. He followed up Blood Verse with the number one best seller at Black Bed Sheet Books, "The Night It Got Out," the 70's period novella, "The Maggots Underneath the Porch," a poetry collection titled, "Blood Prose," a sequel to The Night It Got Out: "The Night They Got Out," and a second short story collection, "Out of The Shadows." Most recently, he launched a multi-series collection of novels with the inaugural book: "Demon's Wrath ~ Death in Caguas, A Michael Moretti novel." He plans to write at least 10 books on Michael Moretti and his cohorts as they fight evil across the globe. He is currently working on over a dozen projects, including a Martial Arts Biography, a mainstream detective thriller many think will be movie worthy when published, several novellas, and some horror/sci-fi novels. Patrick enjoys sports, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and most hard rock, and reading great authors. A practitioner of martial arts for over 30 years, he holds a second-degree black belt and is a huge fan of Bruce Lee.

This book consists of nine short stories and each one packs a punch!
This was really a very good book by an author that is new to me. I was impressed by the writing style of the author and quickly I became drawn into the stories.
I am not going into detail with each story because of spoilers, but I will dangle a tidbit out there for you on each story. :-)
Over The Edge: Be careful of what you do when you are around people as you never know what or who is in your midst! So tread carefully!
Spider: Do not let one bite you as you might turn into something unnatural. (That is all I am going to say on that story - lol!) :-)
Puzzles: Not your typical jigsaw puzzles - something a little more complex. :-)
The Lonely Deaths of Booker and Chance: Bobbing along in the ocean waters could result in a feeding frenzy. (Let your imagination run wild with that one - lol!) :-)
The Jupiter Chronicles: Nuclear attack dealing with beings not from earth! (No, I am not drawing you a picture! lol!)
Hitchin' A Ride: Your sins will catch up to you eventually. Karma - what goes around comes around!
The Bunker: Even in war there are dark forces from the depths of hell enlisting men to the other side. (Does that sound cryptic? Well if so, then go grab this book and read it for yourself!)
The Ripper Returns: What a twist - possible demonic possession regarding Jack The Ripper? Well....maybe. Anything is possible.
Ma's Eats: There is more than beef in that stew! :-)
That is about all I can give out in terms of this review, but I really liked all the stories and will be reading more books by this author. Four stars for this one!

I thought I would read OUT OF THE SHADOWS in October as it is filled with horror stories which I really enjoyed. Filled with monsters and even a little sci-fi, this novel is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to Patrick for an excellent collection of horror! If you are into horror, I highly recommend this book!
