Nine. Yes, that’s my name. I was inspired by the mysterious tattoo on my arm; BD-DC-009. I have no memory of who I am. I woke up in a stone cube of a room, no way in, or out. The only object in my prison is a tarnished, ancient mirror. With no clues as to what I am to do, I reach out and touch the mirror, which reflects a grey human-shaped creature. Words form in the air. Mirror of Change A device used to form me into what I am meant to be. I have found myself in a place called The Labyrinth. An endless realm, continuously changing, filled with carnivorous mushrooms and deadly traps. The only purpose that has been given to me was from smoky, translucent words that appeared in front of me. Escape The Labyrinth
Disclaimer: This is not your usual MC. He starts off with below average intelligence. He doesn't always know what to do, and makes choices that can anger some people. He is a bit like a child in a mans body. But he has a big heart and desperately wants to learn. Give him a chance, he will grow on you, like a mushroom.
Very very different and interesting story. Fun to read and there's plenty of mystery to keep the story fresh and new. Trying to figure out who or what or when is Nine keeps the story going and calling everyone Mister doesn't get old.
This book was great! It had great and terrible puns, which I loved. It had a clueless MC who learned everything on the fly which I found to be a fun new way to tell his story. I'm looking forward to book 2.
different take the MC comes in with no knowledge so childlike (nice change from others where MC no memory but functioning adult) and see growth as he starts to progress with bits and pieces of memory/ information but none personal . lots of Questions , where he came from , why his system of progress so different bit of a mystery.
Mistakes: I don't remember finding any, however I did have to put the book down at one point and read something else. Plot: Born fully grown in a dungeon, but still a newborn. Friends and enemies are both made. Characters: Wow the start of this book is rough due to the MC being very naive and trusting. It gets better as he get smarter. 8/10 I struggled with what to rate this book, then realized that the part I had problems with in the early part of the book are part of what makes it so masterful.
