You've heard the joke... Know how to figure out if a guy’s a pilot?
He’ll tell you.
Yep. Cocky? Arrogant? Player?
That’s generally the impression I like to give women.
Outside of my 8-pack and medals for valor, when it comes to women’s expectations of me... I try to keep the bar low enough so that I can roll over it.
Until Kaila comes along.
She’s like every fantasy I could conjure - that night I made her soul-searing eyes glaze over with passion as she cried out my name...
Several times, because I’m very thorough.
It should have been enough for me.
It’s not.
But with my past - and a secret I’ve kept even from my brothers - I know I’m not capable of giving her what she deserves. I know it...
... even with hindsight.
Hindsight is a full-length romance, Book 2 in the Aloha, Sheridans series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Crank up your A/C because Fen's one hot hero... and enjoy!
When Kate Aster was in fifth grade, she wrote her debut novel on a spiral-bound notebook–a science fiction which ended with the tragic destruction of all humanity.
Fortunately, she’s gotten a lot more upbeat.
Now preferring romantic settings and blissfully happy endings, Kate just released her eighth book available on Amazon.
Kate is an avid snorkeler, “beach read” fanatic, and margarita connoisseur. She is so grateful for the support and positive reviews from her readers. Thank you!

Fen is a pilot and his dream is to use that skill for good. His boss has let him fly sick children and families on the island to their medical destination for free. But now his company has a new owner and he is not the charitable sort.
Kaila is Annie's bestie and business partner. Annie and Kaila meet at Queen K where they ran a daycare. They started a side business for daycare that was more interactive and as well as specialized for families on the island.
Kaila wants to help Fen achieve his dream. She puts together a business deal that he can take to his cousins and see if they want to help fund the project.
As Kaila and Fen are on the mainland things get very heated and close for comfort. They thought there one night was just that one night, not to be spoken of again. They cannot deny the attraction they have to one another or the fact that they actually like each others company. Now with a proposal on the table for Fen to chose his next step in a career. And Kaila having a chance to travel and an opportunity at an amazing job the 2 must navigate their relationship and where it will go from here. They agreed it would go nowhere after heading back home but they have undeniable feelings for one another.
This is a feel good romance with not a lot of ups and downs. Just a sweet read.
Aster may not yet be a household name to those who love contemporary romance, but they should! She writes angst, humor, and steam that will make her readers only crave more.
As a longtime fan of Aster, I was delighted when I found myself transported to the beautiful island of Hawaii, and inserted into the lives of Fen and Kaila - two people unlikely to be matched and yet perfect for one another.
As Fen and Kaila are thrown into one another’s lives without much choice, I was swept away as their story unfolded. With lots of heart and enough heat to start a fire, Aster wrote a novel that will carry you away in all the best ways.
Dual POV 1st person. Tropes and themes include ex-military, small town, one night stand to lovers.
This is my 2nd Kate Aster book and so far I'm finding her books to be light contemporary romances that have enough plot to be interesting but are easy to read and have satisfying endings. I am reading the Sheridans series way out of order but I didn't have any problems reading this as a stand-alone.
This was a classic story of a one-night stand turning into something more. Kaila and Fen end up working on a project together that takes them to the small town where Fen grew up. As they spend more time together their feelings grow stronger. The spice didn't really start until about 60%, besides one scene at the beginning, but the scenes were well-written.
Both Kaila snd Fen are real complex characters, with quirks and flaws. There are some great scenes, both funny and emotional. I liked the story.
I did find Fen's reason for avoiding commitment a bit odd, as I couldn't see why his secret would lead to lack of commitment. But this was still a good read, looking forward to the next book.
Standalone. 1st person dual pov. No violence. Steamy.
This Is the second book in the series. It is a stand-alone but you get more character depth by reading in order. Characters are likable and have some complexity to them. There is good tension and a bit of humor to carry the plot along. Very enjoyable. And well written and well edited too!
Another nice read in this series. I appreciated the no nonsense approach of Fen and Kaila. As well as owning up to your assumptions and humbling yourself for forgiveness. As expressed in my last review about Cam and Annie, this novel is a quick and light read with a little heat...simple entertainment.
They met on the Big Island where Fenway's brother is married to Kaila's BFF. He has a commitment phobia and she wants to leave Hawaii to go to the mainland.
Well written good characterisations fast paced beautiful imagery I loved this series of books could be a stand alone read but I recommend reading them in order and as a set
Without giving anything away in terms of plot this was a great read! Kate always writes well rounded fleshed out characters. She has away of crafting the HEA without using gimmicks. Swoon-worthy men, smart independent women, some steam and great settings! Once again a great read! Read this and the third book in the series back to back. One of my most favorite authors! Can't wait for the next book!
I've been waiting for more great books by Kate Asher and this one did not disappoint!! I loved Fen and Kaila's story. Ever since I read the first book in this series, I couldn't wait to get more of these Sheridan brothers!! I'm off to Dodger's story right now!!
Another great story in the series. I love your books, they tell stories about people with the normal problems of life and love. It was great to watch Den change and his love for Kaila grow. Thank for another great book!
